I love damson jam 😋 My absolute favourite as I love the tanginess. I don't have a particular preference of brand but I have bonne maman at the moment.

Seedless raspberry jelly or crab apple.

@SirPhillipsgroupie

I had a fig jam in a french cafe once but never seen it for sale. It was divine. I do like a black currant, too.
Bonne Maman make a fig jam which is lovely on goats cheese.

Apricot. Or raspberry.

Blackcurrant is my favourite.

I prefer marmalade on toast with butter and jam on top of butter on fresh white crusty bread.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 16/04/2021 21:41

Raspberry or blackcurrant.

LackofEvidence · 16/04/2021 21:45

Bonne Maman, but the Intense version rather than the normal one, so much nicer. Apricot, raspberry, or especially the fruits rouge one (don't think that one is available in the UK though).

Artus · 16/04/2021 21:48

Okay, but what's your second favourite jam? ( am I the only person who remembers Ever Decreasing Circles?)

toffeebutterpopcorn · 16/04/2021 21:50

Lemon curd (does that count though?)

ifigoup · 16/04/2021 21:50

Jam is not something I often eat, largely because I find it too sweet. But ones I do enjoy once in a blue moon are:

  • black cherry
  • ginger
  • lime marmalade
  • pink grapefruit marmalade
  • blackcurrant
  • bramble jelly
  • crab apple jelly
JobRetentionScheme · 16/04/2021 21:51

Rhubarb and ginger
Pineapple

My two favourites

Thisisnotwhatiwant · 16/04/2021 21:54

Pineapple
Homemade blackberry (can be with apple)
Homemade strawberry

PembrokeshireDreaming · 16/04/2021 22:09

My mum makes the most amazing pineapple and passion fruit jam, Her grapefruit and cranberry marmalade is great too. She has won many a WI jam competition.........I love it when I get to sample her trial runs!"!!

nocoolnamesleft · 16/04/2021 22:20

Reminds me...as a child, I nearly lived on my grandma's blackcurrant jam. Everyone else loved her thick cut marmalade. I adored her jam. Happy memory.

TheNestedIf · 16/04/2021 22:23

Not that I can eat much jam nowadays, but I've made a very nice damson jam in the past (colleague approved) and my mother is brilliant at gooseberry jam, blackberry jam and marmalade.

Commercially, I will delightedly accept pretty much any strawberry jam, slathered on buttered toast.

noblegreenk · 16/04/2021 22:23

Apricot is my go to.

Although i'm partial to cherry and also my friend's homemade crab apple.

nearlynermal · 16/04/2021 22:24

Either apricot or strawberry, but must be quite tart with big chunks of fruit in.

StarsonaString · 16/04/2021 22:25

Blackcurrant with raspberry and cherry coming joint second.

I make blackcurrant curd from the berries in my garden and its lush. Use it on toast and in puddings like blackcurrant meringue pie.

Basically any dark, tangy fruits in place of citrus and I'm there. Also love citrus btw.

SavannahLands · 16/04/2021 22:48

We buy the St.Dalfour range of Jams, l love their Blueberry, none of their Jam contains any added sugar, other than that from vineyard ripened Grape and Fruit juices, giving a more healthy option than other Jams with a high sugar content from added Sucrose or Glucose used widely in ordinary jam making production lines.

It’s a really nice Jam, as it’s never sickly Sweet, the total overall Fruit sugar content is only 52%

StripedLeopard · 17/04/2021 07:49

This is my favourite

What is your favourite jam?
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/04/2021 18:49

Blackcurrant - I find most too sickly sweet. . I always put it in a Victoria sponge - the slight tartness goes well in a cake that’s very sweet anyway.

MirandaMarple · 17/04/2021 18:52

Fig. Dreaming of eating Moroccan baghrir (pancake/crumpet type breakfast) with fig jam. My local Turkish greengrocers sell a good one. I buy piklets and shut my eyes when I eat them.

Lidl raspberry jam is very good, too.

I think I saw some in Tesco.

Do you have a Middle Eastern/Asian greengrocers nearby? You'll get it there.

jay55 · 17/04/2021 18:55

Blackcurrant

Devlesko · 17/04/2021 18:56

Seedless Raspberry, not a jam as such but lemon curd. (not cheese)

1990s · 17/04/2021 18:58

This is my kind of thread.

Waitrose organic raspberry is fairly next level. Also a bit fan of ginger + anything.

Also really like cardamom marmalade...
