My dd4 has a speech delay, she’s trying her hardest to tell me about her friend at school but she keeps saying “Sharon” and when I repeat the name she is getting angry because it’s not right! I can’t think what it could be!

Help me lol it’s driving both of us insane!

Shower?

FreekStar · 13/04/2021 21:16

I think it's Severn

LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 13/04/2021 21:16

I'm convinced now that she's saying Sarah. Quite usual for a primary school child these days, though. There's none in my son's school at the moment, and only one when my eldest was there between 2011 and 2018.

percheron67 · 13/04/2021 21:17

Is she talking about a friend? Or is it in another context?

Couchbettato · 13/04/2021 21:17

I'm dying to know, please update OP when you find out.

When my DC was small (around 3) we used to be told about the exploits of "Wur'us" at nursery. Pronounced the way a sterotypical Geordie might be portrayed saying 'workers'.
Only at the leaving party a year later did we find out that it was in fact, a boy called Fergus.

ZigZagJane · 13/04/2021 21:22

I've listened to the 2nd clip and it sounds like Farrah to me, possibly Fallon

gah2teenagers · 13/04/2021 21:22

I’m hearing Sarah-Ann. DGS nearly 4 is speech delayed and driving past McDonald’s always shout shits (chips).

stoopider · 13/04/2021 21:24

I’m really invested in this now!
Please let us know when you find out what it is OP

GlamGiraffe · 13/04/2021 21:25

Ok ive just seem its not a boy.thats exactly how my daughter pronounces all sounds starting with a C or K and some words beginning with an f or th sound.

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip · 13/04/2021 21:28

DS (without a speech delay) was confused to find a new boy in his class called (I've changed the first name) Johnny Handpop Grin
It was Hancock

Bananagram99 · 13/04/2021 21:28

I thought Cohen. I know 2 little boys called that.

meluey · 13/04/2021 21:29

Charan?

prediction500 · 13/04/2021 21:30

Sarah?

Peeteea · 13/04/2021 21:31

This sounds a lot like how a child at my school used to pronounce the name of a classmate- he was called Cameron. It’s sometimes used as a girls name too so just another option to consider!

Fairnair · 13/04/2021 21:33

Could it be Yvonne?

FortunesFave · 13/04/2021 21:35

Sarah

manybirdsnests · 13/04/2021 21:36

Faron? Can be a girl's name

maresedotes · 13/04/2021 21:37

Aw she does sound cute. Reminds me of trying to interpret what my speech delayed DD was saying. The frustration and having to get her elder sister to help. So, I'm no help, sorry.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 13/04/2021 21:37

Saffron?
