What's the funniest name you've heard of for a family pet?

A friend told me today that they've finally named their new Shih tzu puppy who they got a week ago. He's gorgeous and fluffy and they've chosen the name Monkey! I know it's none of my business but I really don't think that name suits him and it sounds a little bit silly... but it's kinda cute at the sane time I guess!

We had a dog called Boot and two goldfish called Hoot and Toot.

I have too many cats and their names aren't too outrageous (sausage, Martin, Frank, fattels and sofa).

But the cat I miss the most was called Captain Ruby and she was magnificent. I have a horse called Boston named after the Boston strangler. As a kid my brother was allowed to name our dog. Scrape he was called, because he would scrape the door. Oi Vey.

A dog called Deefer. Cats called Cat and Littlen, one was bigger than the other. Sybil and George the cats. Jimmy Chew the rabbit. Little black and white kitten is Fig. I also know cats Steve and Brian and dog Jess, owner used to joke they would call their first child Rover or something

Bob as in bobcat the American wildcat? He was more like Bob marley especially after he ATE the neighbours cannabis plant

Also heard of a cat named cooking fat my sister used to babysit for said cats owner

My DH and I have a running joke where we randomly say Boutros Boutros Ghali for reasons I can't quite remember, I'm lobbying hard to name our next cat that.

My dog is called bert, which is short for Bertrus Bertrus Ghali or Engelbert Humpadinck depending on my mood.

We had a cat called Tony then we had kittens Terry and Dave and I love the name Nigel for a dog. I think human names are the best for pets.

Think Denzel is a cool name for a cat also!

DD called her rabbit Benedict Cucumberpatch.

My Son rehomed two miniature Dacshunds last year, after the elderly owners had died, they are called Wilbur and Winston. He also has a big black cat with green eyes who he named SATAN,

I know a cat called Shagger (she was a pregnant feral).

Also one called Steven.

And a dog called Rhubarb which I like.

Last time I went to the vets there was a couple with a very concerned little girl clutching a hamster cage. The vet came out and asked for "Beyonce" and up they all got.

DH worked with a woman who had a cat called "Pussy Wussy".

I worked with a chap who had a cat called "Sweetheart". Sweetheart was a bruiser of a male tabby cat, fought with every other cat in the street and would regularly bring live ducks into the kitchen!

A lot of goldfish pets too! My cousin when he was a kid had 2 orange and blue goldfish and they were called Sonny and Cher... I think his parents must have named them not him!

My BIL called his cat Steve Rogers. He is a massive Marvel fan but I am not and had no idea why he was calling his cat by a random ordinary bloke name. My kids had to explain it to me

My cousin has a cat called Stan Lee, when the actual Stan Lee died she posted, "RIP Stan Lee" on Facebook and lots of people were concerned the cat had died.

There's a puzzle type game I play on my phone. I like the puzzles but there's another element to the game where you can decorate the house. It's all a bit cutesy with an annoying (appropriately ditzy) blonde woman constantly exclaiming over inane things.

You can avoid 95% of the annoying bits but there are certain bits you have to just listen through. You get given a cat so I named him Bollock-head. Then later you get given a dog and I named him Fuckballs. No other players get to see the interactions. But seeing this annoying character obliviously swearing at the pets makes me laugh a lot. Yes, I am an absolute child.

We had Billy Idol the canary and Bing the crooning German Shepherd.

I think my favourite is a family with the surname Lemon and their dog was Jif (before the cleaning product was changed to Cif) They are a well known local family that run a pub and Jif had his obituary in the local paper. Their cat was Jaffa if memory serves me correctly.
