What's the funniest name you've heard of for a family pet?

A friend told me today that they've finally named their new Shih tzu puppy who they got a week ago. He's gorgeous and fluffy and they've chosen the name Monkey! I know it's none of my business but I really don't think that name suits him and it sounds a little bit silly... but it's kinda cute at the sane time I guess!

A horse called Boomerang, ironic, cos the bugger would not come back! We had to empty the field to get him in.

A giant African snail called sonic.

Friend had the guinea pigs called bubble and squeak. Squeak died leaving bubble who was always assumed t be a fish

I used to have a fish called bubble and a hamster called squeak. I though I was so original and clever.. obviously not as original as I thought 😅

My son named our tortoise "Jerry the fish " I have no idea why!

Alan Shearer....a hamster who was kept alive with calpol on and off for a year...wasn't mine!

I knew someone with a goldfish called Corstorphine.

My dd is friends with a guy who has a pug called Sigourney Weaver.

As students we had two cats that used to visit.
We called them Unhygienic and Security Risk.

My ambition is to have brother and sister cats called Travis and Dorothy Purrkins.

We have a cat. We always name them after stars, particularly ones that are difficult to find and not very bright (like our cats). The current star mog is Eta Delphini, which is known as the star called Bob, so Bob is her everyday name. She’s often referred to as Fish Face, Fishy or just FF.

My DH and I have a running joke where we randomly say Boutros Boutros Ghali for reasons I can't quite remember, I'm lobbying hard to name our next cat that.

We have a similar thing, but you have to follow it up with Kofi Annan and then Ban Ki Moon. My mum once tried to join in with Henry Kissinger but we just looked at her pityingly and walked away.

We have a fish called Nigel.

I also knew a cat called Cooking Fat.

And one called Little Potatoes.

We named our dog Bitser. He was a GSD/lab cross so was made of Bitser this and Bitser that.

I'm sure there was a thread on here once where a poster explained why she called her cat "waitrose". It was because her DH didn't like human names for pets so they went through a list if random words and landed on Waitrose.

I had a snake called Dave. It felt right. He looked like a Dave.

We had goldfish called Bob and Kate (Blackadder reference).

Our neighbors had cats called Toot, and Khamun.

I knew someone with a cat called Deeley.

Our oldest dog is called ted. I married for a second time and laughed out loud when the vet called out Ted Baker. Never registered!

There is someone in our village with a dog called Arkwright, and there is a cockerpoo called Roger.
