We are watching things we have previously recorded, they wilhave new things to talk about soon when details of the arrangements are released so I imagine it will dominate the news for a long time yet.

Agree. The media fixation with obituaries was one of the main reasons I stopped watching/listening to live news.

It's cheap and easy material for them. It will have been prepared for years. It's also - though I have got nothing against Philip- boring as fuck.

There are many channels on the tv. Or go on BBC i player and find something to watch or ITV player, all free. I am not particularly interested myself in hours of tv, but do not begrudge others.

I watch terrestrial when I'm just looking for something to watch quickly without fucking around with platforms etc. But tonight it's Prince Philip all over the guide.

This will go on for days. Maybe weeks. They've had years to put all these programmes together. Decades. Now they're going to roll them all out and sit on their arses tweeting instead of having to make anything else for us to watch.

I'm dreading the queen dying it's going to be non stop. My aunt died today. She was fucking amazing.

A short period of national mourning for the husband of the Queen - you’ll survive. Whoever would have though an evening of trash on a few TV channels was so vital. Ant and Dec, for goodness sake!

I have no issue with the different channels covering it. I have issue with BBC1 and 2 both showing the same programme.

I'm with you OP. It's just repeating the same over and over again. For those of you saying it's only a day, not everyone is interested in watching 12+ hours of coverage and not everyone has other channels they can switch to.

I think you'll survive having to find something to watch. He has done a lot for the country and supported the queen for many many years.

My first thought when I heard the sad news - that's telly fucked tonight.
