Well how many places have you been to where your in a room and everyone but one person has the same skin colour? Becayse that is literally the only situation I can see where I'd go yeah sure x person is black/white/brown
Your problem is you cannot imagine someone not needing to use skin colour. Well there are people who don't need to use it all the time or everytime they have to describe someone[/quote]
No you have it the wrong way round. I might use the colour of their dress, or their hair, probably not their eyes to be honest. You were saying you have never used colour, you would use the others if you needed to. So if you were in a room with one person of a different colour you would ignore that most obvious distinguishing feature. Bit like saying in a room with 5 blondes and one with black hair and you couldn't mention the hair. Now that doesn't make sense so why would having to avoid mention of the colour of their skin make sense?
Out of interest I have often been in a room when there was only one person of a particular colour. I have been in a room when everyone else was black, I worked in an office where there were 4 white people and one black, one asian.
You have now changed your story and admit that if that was the most obvious distinguishing feature you would use it. So that's progress.
