What minor medical ailment do you wish you had the power to eradicate?

I am currently being plagued by a pesky cold sore, which comes back every few weeks.

It’s often accompanied by aches across my entire face.

While it’s not particularly dangerous (kissing babies aside) it’s a horrible, lingering pain in the face.

You?

Eczema. When mine flares up it can make me feel pretty miserable until I can get it back under control and I've needed a few courses of antibiotics in the past when it gets so bad its cracked and bleeding and gets infected.

Cystic acne. I think it's PCOS related, but I get it on my chin and it's often sore when I move my mouth. Sometimes they're so deep in the skin they stop hurting and become big lumps that you can still see. Then two months later they explode and leave a crater in my chin.

Piles. Definitely piles

The common cold. Miserable at the best of times, but now every cold is forcing isolation, time off school and the pain of a Covid test, they can definitely do one.

pizzaobsessed · 28/03/2021 12:02

@Notmulan 😂

LaceyBetty · 28/03/2021 12:03

Definitely eczema. I have the tiniest patch of it near my ear (like 3 mm) and it drives me bonkers. I feel so sorry for people who properly struggle with it all over.

lljkk · 28/03/2021 12:03

Whatever is wrong with my knees...

generic, and not something I have, eczema. Except I guess that's lots of conditions. But can be quite limiting.

MarieDelaere · 28/03/2021 12:03

Psoriasis has blighted my life since I was a child.

I'm not even sure it qualifies as 'minor' - I've had flare-ups so bad I've been hospitalised - but I'd love a cure for that low level, persistent sort of psoriasis that makes hundreds of thousands of people unhappy and feeling like they don't want to go out.

Ratonastick · 28/03/2021 12:04

Earache. There’s just nothing you can do to make it better.

Headaches, make me utterly miserable and have them half my life

LindaEllen · 28/03/2021 12:05

Definitely the common cold! They can make you feel so miserable, but yet you get judged (I feel) for pulling out of things because you've got a cold. There's always a bit of an eyeroll and 'it's just a cold!' but sometimes you can feel so crap with them! Plus colds always leave me with a terrible cough for weeks and weeks afterwards, have done since I was a child, no medicine helps. It gets so bad at night that I struggle to breathe!

Headaches
Eczema
Thrush

itsgettingwierd · 28/03/2021 12:09

Endometriosis

Although going through it currently I'm not sure it classes as a minor inconvenience.

Also dischorric eczema. Although it appears I've discovered a cure for that the past year - hand gel Grin

RumJerrySailorRum · 28/03/2021 12:09

Eczema......mine is in the main fairly minor but I have had hospital treatment in the past.

Arthritis.....for me it's still minor but I know that is going to change over the years and my knees are going to be more fucked than they already are.

Bad eye sight. I really wish I didn't need to wear glasses/contacts.
