I am currently being plagued by a pesky cold sore, which comes back every few weeks.

It’s often accompanied by aches across my entire face.

While it’s not particularly dangerous (kissing babies aside) it’s a horrible, lingering pain in the face.

You?

Cormoron you can take antivirals every day to stop them coming - see your GP - I get them all the time, they are awful.

dementedma · 28/03/2021 21:31

@sunshineandshowers21

definitely cold sores! i haven’t had one in years but i’ve been so run down and now two giant ones have erupted. my entire bottom lip is throbbing and i can barely open my mouth.
Get some aciclovir. They'll disappear overnight

Sinusitis Aka face ache.

tootyfruitypickle · 28/03/2021 21:38

Massive period pain all my life.

And I'd quite like my fungal toe to go away so I can waft around with nice sandals again

Boph · 28/03/2021 21:39

I havesome serious illnesses - RA, heart condition, just recovered from cancer and I have a lung disorder.
What is the bain of my life?
Itching.
Itchy eyes, ears, eczema patches here and there. Wakes me up at night.
Plus atm, toothache.

Whatwouldnanado · 28/03/2021 21:41

Athletes foot
Whatever has made my baby toenail go thick and yellow ish
Sinusitis
Nits (shuddering at memory of having to rake my dds waist length hair with a nitty gritty every night on a gorgeous cruise ship)

DinosaurDiana · 28/03/2021 21:42

Definitely cold sores.
I hate it when they’re almost healed then you eat a sandwich and it splits open again , and you’ve got blood running down your face. It usually happens when you’re sat having lunch with a work mate 😡

ApplesinmyPocket · 28/03/2021 21:43

Eczema. Had it all my life. Barely a day goes by when I'm not struggling not to scratch at least some of the time. I don't even have it that badly, just small areas really - I feel for children and babies with a bad case of it, and for their parents.

Shieldingending · 28/03/2021 21:43

Hayfever...

ANewDawnANewDay · 28/03/2021 21:43

Dental problems.
I wish we were like sharks and just grew as many teeth as we needed.

goteam · 28/03/2021 21:44

Hayfever, especially the itchy eyes. Ruins my summers
Coldsores, I get them around 3 times a year and terrified I will inadvertently pass them on to the kids
Skin tags. I have quite a large one just under my breast which my bra strap rubs and it is currently really sore. A few small ones too.
Overactive bladder. Up twice night at least and have to plan any excursion with toilets in mind.

musicinspring1 · 28/03/2021 21:46

Hay fever and fungal toes!

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 28/03/2021 21:46

Ezcema, thrush, hayfever.

Norugratsatall · 28/03/2021 21:57

Another one saying tinnitus! Another word for torture.

SingingWaffleDoggy · 28/03/2021 22:02

Another vote for cold sores. Zovirax does not do anything for them. I’ve got a recurring pattern going on. They’ll get more frequent so that I’ve got one that lasts a week, takes another week to heal, third week is just a red mark where it was, 4th week free, then BAM! Another. Go to GP, get oral aciclovir treatment. Disappear for 18 months, then it all starts again increasing in frequency until the above.
I’m so worried about passing it on Sad
Also, pregnancy leg cramps. It’s been several days since a really bad one and my calf is still really sore. I’ve tried getting my DH to massage it out but it’s too painful.
Lastly, periods. Such a bloody inconvenience if you pardon the pun.

Happyoldbat · 28/03/2021 22:02

Another vote for tinnitus. The next time I hear silence, I will be dead.

Thighdentitycrisis · 28/03/2021 22:07

Fungal toenail

MegBusset · 28/03/2021 22:07

Floaters! I am plagued by them, especially my left eye, which has a huge blobby one that obscures the centre of my field of vision. I also have tinnitus after years of gig abuse but would far rather get rid of the floaters.

Parentpower20 · 28/03/2021 22:09

UTIs

MegBusset · 28/03/2021 22:10

Oh, also TMJD and teeth grinding

PurpleWh1teGreen · 28/03/2021 22:10

Although it took a while, I found one of those light pen things really good for cold sores. Not at the time - you still need acyclovir cream for symptoms - but over about a year to 18 months they gradually stopped coming back. I think my last one was during summer 2019 holiday, and I used to get them monthly.

Now if someone could sort my bunions so that I can wear nice shoes & sandals...

EveningOverRooftops · 28/03/2021 22:11

Hay fever and dust mite allergies.

You can’t avoid either and It’s a pretty miserable existence to deal with both, the sore throats, runny nose, sinus grief and remembering to take the nasal steroid, the antihistamine, not being able to have carpets, having to vacuum/sweep floors daily and do the dusting in a flipping hazmat suit (ok not a hazmat suit but feel like I need to)

RedcurrantPuff · 28/03/2021 22:12

Toenail fungus
