What minor medical ailment do you wish you had the power to eradicate?

I am currently being plagued by a pesky cold sore, which comes back every few weeks.

It’s often accompanied by aches across my entire face.

While it’s not particularly dangerous (kissing babies aside) it’s a horrible, lingering pain in the face.

You?

Eczema. I put the pics in sporners corner on here a couple of years ago. All the skin on my feet fell off, there was a hammock affair going on, dead skin hanging off, all the skin was cut off with a scalpel. It was horrific.

BearSoFair · 28/03/2021 14:35

Mouth ulcers. I had a massive one last week that hurt every time I moved my lip to speak, eat, do pretty much anything!

Harryo · 28/03/2021 14:36

Toothache.

Tinnitus

The effect on quality of life is huge. And all for some tiny hairs in the ear Sad

Hayfever. I look forward to summer every year because I love the warmer weather, and manage to forget that I suffer with hayfever....until it starts. I think other people see it as minor but it makes me want to chop my own bloody head off, I'm immune to every drug on the market now.

Have you tried 180mg fexofenadine?
CovoidOfAllHumanity · 28/03/2021 16:03

Ooh definitely hayfever as well
Ruined so many lovely summer events for me

The worst ever was being punted to Grantchester meadows after a college May Ball. Sounds lovely and glamorous and romantic. In my head it was supposed to be lounging on cushions in a ball dress in the morning sun trailing a hand in the water
In reality I was trapped on a punt going through meadows giving off clouds of pollen with streaming, red itchy eyes, running nose, sneezing every 2 seconds and clutching some sodden disintegrating tissues.
By the time we got there I just wanted to be indoors in a dark room with cold flannels on my eyes.

DearTeddyRobinson · 28/03/2021 18:09

All of these. All of them! Also ingrown toenails. And conjunctivitis.
Also recommending fexofenadine for hay fever sufferers- it's a game changer.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 28/03/2021 18:45

Colds, toothache, headache, excema, UTIs and hayfever.

BoomTastic1 · 28/03/2021 18:49

Stubbed toes. You know the bastard ones.

optimistic40 · 28/03/2021 18:59

I don't know if it's minor, but PMDD. I think I have it, I don't know. I am like two different people for two weeks at a time. It's not anger etc, I am literally completely different!

Also, of course, colds!

LadyWithLapdog · 28/03/2021 19:08

Fungal nail infections

Tomcullenisahero · 28/03/2021 19:35

Underarm sweating, urgh just so annoying and looks gross

Tomcullenisahero · 28/03/2021 19:36

Oops posted to soon
Looks gross if you have sweat marks on your clothes

MildredPuppy · 28/03/2021 19:36

Hayfever

Whycantibetangy · 28/03/2021 19:42

Ingrown toenails! My big toes are almost a perfect C shape digging in at both sides. Painful and ugly and nothing I have tried has worked to straighten them out again.

If anyone has any secret magical remedy for them I would be forever grateful

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 28/03/2021 19:52

@Whycantibetangy Mine too. You can get curved nail scissors and I just cut into the C shape and file the sharp corner bits so they can't ingrow. The skin there eventually toughens up.

awaynboilyurheid · 28/03/2021 19:57

Agree with Tinnitus (except it’s far from minor) When you have it you know why noise torture is so effective at breaking people down. Hope a cure can be found one day. I’d take colds, hell I’d take piles over it any day.

MrsGulDukat · 28/03/2021 20:09

The period shits.
Why is it even a thing? Just another thing to make my periods more miserable.

Sensitive teeth.

Contact dermatitis.

Errant chin hairs.

cricketmum84 · 28/03/2021 20:16

Not really minor but my diabetes. What I wouldn't give for a round of white toast with butter and a big bowl of pasta followed by a bar of galaxy!

sunshineandshowers21 · 28/03/2021 20:26

definitely cold sores! i haven’t had one in years but i’ve been so run down and now two giant ones have erupted. my entire bottom lip is throbbing and i can barely open my mouth.

It's due to progesterone levels in that part of your cycle

allthingsred · 28/03/2021 21:08

Another for piles.currently suffering like mad. I know I should go & see doctor to sort as had them for 20 yrs but so embarrassing. & painful, can't bear the thought of them even looking down there

LunaTheCat · 28/03/2021 21:22

Men with colds - my husband is shocking.
