I'm in an Easy Listening/AOR/MOR mood tonite...

JD - Calypso
ND - tie between The Last Thing On My Mind and I've Been This Way Before
TJ - The Green, Green Grass of Home

I'm also showing my age but I don't mind.

JD- Country Roads. A bit of a cliche but it has a special place in my heart

ND- I am, I said or Beautiful Noise

TJ - not the biggest fan but I've always loved his version of "Baby it's cold outside" with Cerys from Catatonia. Sadly someone decided it was "rapey" and you don't hear it a lot anymore.

Cherrysherbet · 26/03/2021 20:53

Kittytheteapot · 26/03/2021 20:58

JD - loads! Wild Montana Skies, Thank God I'm a Country Boy, Baby you look good tonight, Love Again, Perhaps Love, Leaving on a Jet plane. If I could only have one, it would be Annie's Song though.

Delirious love, Neil Diamond
Not sure for TJ...

murbblurb · 26/03/2021 21:07

@IAcceptCookies a fellow TOG!! Always the reverend blue jeans! American popular song is fun too.

ElphabaTheGreen · 26/03/2021 21:13

JD - don’t know a lot of his...
ND - well, I mean, man can’t write a bad song but You Don’t Bring Me Flowers or I’m a Believer. Also Cracklin Rosie fan.
TJ - the man sets every pore of my body on edge but you can’t argue that it’s a helluva voice. Delilah.

If you’re in the mood for easy listening, Simon & Garfunkel.

WildRosie · 26/03/2021 21:13

Neil Diamond has such a huge back catalogue it's very difficult to choose. His 1969 recording of Shilo (I'm listening to it now) is a perfect pop song.

ND-forever in blue jeans
JD- Annie's song

PuppyMonkey · 26/03/2021 21:17

Sunshine by John Denver almost always makes me cry.Sad

tabulahrasa · 26/03/2021 21:17

Country roads... sweet Caroline and, um... it’s not unusual but tbh that’s more because of fresh Prince than the song...

Cocolapew · 26/03/2021 21:19

JD ,Country Roads or Grandmas Feather Bed

I don't really like TJ I prefer Englebert Grin

I'm a massive ND fan so can't pick just one but I love Do It and Cracklin' Rosie atm.

Im listening to Simon and Garfunkel now, Baby Driver is my favourite.
MumofPsuedoAdult · 26/03/2021 21:22

Tom Jones - Help yourself.

Listen to it with headphones and the richness of his voice will really hit you in the first line of the chorus.

You're right, it's so hard to choose a Neil Diamond song. Was never a fan years ago because I was too young and he wasn't cool enough, but what awesome songs and amazing voice... Apart from Rev Blue Jeans, I love Sweet Caroline, Cracklin Rosie, Song Sung Blue, American Popular Song, Beautiful Noise, Love on the Rocks, I'm a Believer, I am I Said...

Well, thats my dog walk listening sorted for tomorrow!
