What song makes you cry?

I was driving to work yesterday and Caledonia came on my radio. I arrive at work absolutely bawling! That song gets me every single time, I’ll be ok for the first few bars then I can’t hold back the tears. I also used to find Tears in Heaven a guarantee of tears but haven’t listened to that in a while.
Wondering what other songs people find have the same effect on them.

Some things never change from Frozen 2. Particularly if I try singing it, for some reason I just cry and can’t continue.

Ed Sheeran's Photograph
Ludovici Einaudu's music is pure magic and his Nuvole Bianche and Igiorni gets me every time. Beautiful though.

ImaHogg · 26/03/2021 20:00

Instrumental so not so much a song but Somewhere in Time by John Barry has me bawling every time I listen to it. I find some instrumental music just so emotive.

I was a carer for a very poorly little boy.. He had very complex needs and I fell in love with him.. He met my children and made them the adults they are.. We all loved him.. He died and I remember hearing 'You say it best when you say nothing at all '.. Because he didn't /couldn't speak.. but the words..'The truth in your eyes say you'll never leave me..'
I'm crying now and it's been 17 years..
When my youngest son passed his driving test the first place he went was to his grave.. And the song came on the radio ..
I still bawl my eyes out and sing at the top of my voice.. (If I'm alone in the car!)

You'll Never Walk Alone
Dancing in the sky
Sunshine on Leith
To where you are
Also
I watch the Sunrise and Walk with me, oh my lord both played at dd's funeral

doadeer · 26/03/2021 20:06

The I wasn't expecting that song.

The line where he sings...

The nurses they came
Said it's come back again

And

Then you closed your eyes
You took my heart by surprise

I can't not cry a little bit

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 26/03/2021 20:09

Oh @doadeer , exactly what I was coming on here to say. Lost my beautiful mum a week before Lockdown1 to the bastard that's Cancer. It's been very hard, it was always going to be but add covid into the mix, boy oh boy!

doadeer · 26/03/2021 20:10

It's such a beautiful song their wonderful life together then the cruelty of her passing. It's just heartbreaking.

I'm so sorry for your beautiful mum... It's cruel 💐

Man of the world by fleetwood Mac. Really sums up loneliness

EduardoStobarto · 26/03/2021 20:16

Small Bump by Ed Sheeran, I first heard it while listening to the radio on my phone alone in labour during the early hours on a dark hospital ward with my longed for IVF baby after numerous miscarriages. Can't even think about it without feeling emotional!

Hey Jude.

Thousand years. Didn’t get it in the Twilight film, Until I saw the YouTube videos of the children with Downes doing the makaton signing. Oh my, just amazing.

Us against the world by cold play. The words resonate with my infertility then eventual pregnancy. Heard it while expecting my miracle baby. So so close to my journey.
