Which did you have, if you have 3 ( or more) DC? Just curious really. I have boy, boy and contemplating #3 but very unsure.

Not sure others outcomes will help you here. You get what you get. If you go for it do so knowing you can be happy with either.

spookycookies · 21/03/2021 06:08

In terms of probability it's difficult to work out if there is a predisposition or not. Simply because for some it will always be 50/50 and of only two outcomes it's possible to have 10boys in a row with each still being 50/50. However there are theories that some men are more likely to produce male or female sperm or that some women are more receptive to one or the other.

I've got boy, boy, girl. I was extremely surprised to have a girl - was convinced I was having another boy.

For the sake of the planet, two is enough.

Number 2 and 3 are twins in my case.

My grandmother was the youngest of 13 she definitely had brothers but I don't know how many of each or what order.

My cousin is a GP who stopped at 2 girls because the stats suggested they'd go on to have another girl, she never showed me the stats but I trust it was more than chitchat or anecdotal.

Some of mine include babies who died after birth, so how exactly is it detrimental to the planet for me have more afterwards??

BBG. Always wanted a daughter and family started with boy, boy. Left a biggish gap then convinced myself we were having a boy (didn't find out beforehand) ....was absolutely astonished to have a girl and (for a few days) I also missed the boy I had been expecting as well! So really either would have been fine, the big decision is whether you want a 3 child family or not....it's a big jump!

BBG

The New York study (the largest available?) found that if you have had 3 boys, then there is an increase in those having a 4th boy. No other effect found (all in line with 50/50) and although the increase as a percentage was large (50%), it was an increase from change which mathematically should be 6% becoming 9%. But the numbers which fell into that category were small enough that it's not statistically significant, ie it's interesting and plausible but not proven and bigger datasets needed
