@freckles20 have you got room for a passenger on your canoe? Grin Sounds idyllic.

Hello newbies :)

My uni are getting impatient with me because I want to finish off a module with an american uni for now. I had quite an icy message from them today as they hadn't heard from me, nag nag nag nag nag. I've been quite poorly recently, only just starting to get my brain back!

Foxes/kids/gulls have attacked the recycling outside so I'm going to clear up in a sec, then get a cup of tea and read a book.

MissConductUS · 13/04/2021 19:52

DH has just gone out to meet some work colleagues in a beef garden.

Was this a typo or a quaint British custom I am unfamiliar with? Were the Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace present? Grin

Evening all
My brain has spent the entire day telling me it is Sunday, however as I retired last year it doesn't really matter. (Gives a slightly smug sigh of satisfaction).

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 13/04/2021 20:15

forget I can do that for a whole day at work Grin

And I will ignore your slight smugness - I have 7 years left, perhaps only four..

Squirrel26 · 13/04/2021 20:28

Two boxes have arrived from Amazon. I think one is Simple Solution Pet Cleaning Spray and the other is birthday presents from my parents (my birthday isn't for a couple of weeks, but they like to be prepared).

I am saving them both to open on my Special Morning. (Or tbh until I get a bit bored and tired of them hanging around the place. Or I really need cleaning spray.)

Haha! Definitely a typo. A BEER garden. Though DH would probably rather like a beef beer garden. He's literally just walked in. He had a good time and someone even commented on his new jacket.
Frownette · 13/04/2021 21:18

@RhubarbFairy I bet he strutted in then Grin

itsalifetimesworkfella · 13/04/2021 21:29

Just had rice pudding with fruit cocktail.

Both from a tin.

Sacharelle · 13/04/2021 21:50

Thank you for the welcome. I was on the very first of these threads (under a different name) but haven't commented since. I love the happy vibe of all of the things that people share here
@MissConductUS it's field hockey, rather than ice - his club has over 650 people playing from ages 6-60.

freckles20 · 13/04/2021 22:31

@Frownette absolutely. Hop aboard. I hope you continue to feel better.

DS (14) has for the first time ever declared he needs an early night, and also closed his bedroom door. It's unsettling.

Holothane · 13/04/2021 23:24

Just finished Pandemic 2007, I’ll buy on dvd soon be nice to watch on a bigger screen. Flowers coming out lovely now and blossom on trees opposite our flat.

Frownette · 14/04/2021 00:57

Thank you freckles20 :)

I'm up waiting for a wool wash to finish, then will finish my tea and read/watch something. What excitement. Actually it feels quite peaceful and content.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/04/2021 06:05

The birds are singing, and there is sun but it is still cold.
I am drinking coffee and then I will be off to have my x-ray.

IWanderedLonely · 14/04/2021 07:17

I was dreaming about foxes last night - no idea why.

HelenaJustina · 14/04/2021 09:10

DH spoke to a mortgage adviser yesterday, by fixing now and overpaying slightly a month, he reckons we can reduce the length of the mortgage by 18 months.
Off on another walk this morning, to woods with my cousin and her boys.

Deathraystare · 14/04/2021 09:23

Got up early for shift. Felt slightly better, could walk a bit longer before having to stop and wheeze so decided to take the bus (I have been taking taxis). Unfortunately with all the roads up, I had to walk much further than I anticipated to get another bus. Aw well, at least it is exercise!

freckles20 · 14/04/2021 09:32

Morning all, I've enjoyed reading today's posts.

I have managed three loads of washing already and rediscovered lemon curd on toast.

RhubarbFairy · 14/04/2021 09:37

Lemon curd on toast is glorious.

I am going to have some of the loaf that my friend dropped off with some passion fruit curd.

Silkiescat · 14/04/2021 09:41

Birds are singing here too, often have singing birds with a thatched roof and a holly tree with berries. Sunny but on the cool side.

Got my first and second vaccines booked both an hour away but nothing closer for end of April and mid July. I also booked DH's second one but then had to rearrange so it didn't clash with my first. Booked the Lido swimming pool for 3 hours after my first as its at the same place. DH says this is not sensible but I have never been sensible and he will be there.

DS has his hair cut, he now looks like a sheep that hasn't been shaved for 6 months rather than 6 years. He came back and was looking at himself in the mirror. He did well as was only allowed in alone. Not sure how hairdresser would have got on as DS doesn't talk to strangers normally. I did put that in the notes. Trouble is it was hard to see the underlying haircut.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/04/2021 11:44

Back from the orthopaedist. X-ray went well (4 metal bits were inserted into my foot). All fine. He demonstrated (with my! toes) the amount of movement he expects them to do (Autsch!). He prescribed physio and lymphdrainage.
I took my new shoes with me, he liked them from a medical point of view and sent my on my way.

Champagneforeveryone · 14/04/2021 12:06

Passion fruit curd you say?

DS and I have discovered that you can buy Richmond sausage patties, but not actually where from. He feels they would be excellent for a McDonalds breakfast knock off and I am inclined to agree with him.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/04/2021 12:35

Now I have to google 'curd' - eggs, sugar, butter and tasty stuff - sounds very nice!!

Frownette · 14/04/2021 13:00

@IWanderedLonely

I was dreaming about foxes last night - no idea why.
I'm livin' the dream, the foxes here like to 'sing' outside my bedroom window. It's like having a choir of rusty scraping nails. I nearly yelled "shut up" out the window last night but then thought the neighbours might think I was shouting at them. What were your foxes up to?

Ouch Prok. I guess it's a necessary evil.

Helena not sure if you answered before but how long did it take you to do the 20 miles? I'm used to doing 12 but not further, it takes me over 5 hours as I have tea breaks with my flask

Squirrel26 · 14/04/2021 13:04

Just got a load of texts. O2 shops are reopen! Your prescription is ready! Please fill in our survey! It’s all a bit much.

RhubarbFairy · 14/04/2021 13:26

@Champagneforeveryone It's from Aldi.

Those are very smart shoes Prok
