@freckles20 , @RhubarbFairy thank you!
I am pretty excited, I used to canoe all the time, but then kids, life, broke af, wrong location, blah blah
Now the kids are grown, I live on the water, and can finally get one.
I had wanted a kayak at first, but then reconsidered when I realized with a larger canoe we could go out as a family, or just DH and I , or I can go on my own.

I'm am like a kid at ChristmasGrin

And thank you@MissConductUS for a great thread, it has been a lovely read

SampsonsBeard · 11/04/2021 23:22

I managed to sell my lawnmower today. More room in the shed!

MissConductUS · 12/04/2021 00:17

Welcome, @SampsonsBeard, and thanks for your gardening equipment news. Are you going to replace it? We just got a new Honda lawnmower but have yet to try it out. It replaced one we bought in 2003.

The cold rain has arrived. A drop of 10 C from yesterday. My head does not like it.

Frownette · 12/04/2021 06:19

Are you one hour ahead? It's a bit nippy here, but not raining!

I've just made a coffee and am waiting for some eggs to boil, I want a warm egg mayonnaise sandwich for breakfast

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 12/04/2021 06:47

There's coffee next to me and a blackbird is singing.
Have a lovely and calm breakfast Frownette

Yes, we are at the moment 1 h ahead.
DS and I will have a videocall with his helper and mentor at 11.

freckles20 · 12/04/2021 07:09

I am attempting to ease 14yo DS out of bed ahead of returning to school today.

Once he goes I have two hours to myself before work begins. I'm yet to decide whether to relax or attend to my massive to do list.

IWanderedLonely · 12/04/2021 07:28

Thanks for the welcome Miss, but I'm not new- I had a name change last week in honour of spring Grin
There are a lot of us to keep track of!
The rooves are white with frost this morning but it's cloudy.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 12/04/2021 07:46

DH is getting up earlier and earlier to get things done before noon.
So the clock rang at 6 with a - what does an English speaking cock sound like - sound.

Frownette · 12/04/2021 08:00

Cock a doodle do?

Frownette · 12/04/2021 08:02

What a speaking clock? I thought you meant cockerell!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 12/04/2021 08:16

Great Smile new words for me, not often used:
cockerel = Hahn
cock a doodle doo = Kickerikiki

DH has switched the wake up sound of his alarm to that sound, which I did not expect this morning.

sueelleker · 12/04/2021 08:35

Keeping my fingers crossed at the moment-my husband and i (sounds quite regal) have appointments for dental check-ups and cleaning this morning. They do a cross-over; while he's with one, I'm with the other. I think we're both OK.

Silkiescat · 12/04/2021 08:56

Not a great start back to school today. DD had put in temporary pink hair dye which turned out to be not so temp so she was in the bathroom trying to unsuccessfully get it out.

DH was getting grumpy as he wanted to be in the bathroom.

Then DS as usual needed lots of help to get ready, got stressed by new pencil cases and bags and also wanted the one of his two identical blazers which was missing not the one we had. So he has gone in late. Though was eventually located and two kids now at school. First lesson for DS is PE which he misses anyway so should be OK and he has his lunchcard. And DH can now take his shower. So hopefully world peace will shortly be restored.

freckles20 · 12/04/2021 09:02

@Silkiescat sounds stressful, but they made it. And breathe......

Frownette · 12/04/2021 09:08

@sueelleker aww that reminds me of someone saying the Queen can no longer say "my husband and ay..." in her speech.

Yikes silkie, that does sound stressful! How is silkiemouse?

I've done a bit of housework this morning, am on wash number 2 and did some tidying. I only have to start phonecalls at 11am so am off for another coffee.

Silkiescat · 12/04/2021 09:11

DS is ASD and doesn't communicate much. DD told me he needed a new pencilcase so I asked him, didn't reply so ordered him one. Then this morning I could hear him muttering I have 5 pencil cases, 5. He's very indecisive so probably was getting stressed about which one to chose.

But at least they are both at school now and only us and the 2 silkie chickens, rabbit and cat (plus Rodrigro the mouse and his mouse friend who were under my bit of bed last night Easter Shock told DH and he said I will give them some cheese and catch them then he gave them cheese and fell asleep and Rodrigro was so full of cheese he couldn't jump up the step to get out of our room missing by about an inch ten times) for the next 6 hours. And it looks like DS will finally soon have an EHCP, at least the LA say they are drafting one.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 12/04/2021 09:23

Silkie that sounds hopeful.
DS will join the 2. semester to get used to his new group. Luckily he knows almost all teachers and some even are his favourites and the helper offered to come round to get him into a sustainable structure.

There is someone (four legged) running about on the roof at night and it is not the marten.

Silkiescat · 12/04/2021 10:30

That sounds good for your DS Prok hope it works out.

Very hopeful for EHCP, we also had a meeting for autism assessment and the lady said that DH might like to do a questionaire to see if he has autism. Easter Grin DH told her he didn't he just doesn't like communicating and is very shy.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 12/04/2021 11:23

silkie When DC were assessed they had a look at the family - that turned out to be very interesting Grin.

I have switched on the heater at my desk, it is cold even wearing Dobby.

Champagneforeveryone · 12/04/2021 11:56

DS is going out to meet friends, DH is about to drop him off.

This means that (for the first time in literally months) we have the house to ourselves. In the old days we would have discarded our clothes up the stairs and spent the child free time in bed.

Now we are Very Old I've realised such things are not uppermost in our minds anymore, no more so than when DH mentioned we could finally get in the cupboard in DS's room which is normally obscured by the drum kit. And possibly hoover while he's out as well.

As if that was not depressing enough, I realise I am enthusiastic at the prospect Grin

Squirrel26 · 12/04/2021 13:09

I am thinking about having a yoghurt. The question really is, eat it now or eat it later this afternoon?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 12/04/2021 13:35

squirrel if you eat it later you'll have the added benefit of feeling disciplied and adult, or so I am told.

I have booked a taxi to get me to my x-ray appointment on wednesday.
My shoes have not yet arrived, but I have already thrown away the pre-OP ones.

sueelleker · 12/04/2021 14:00

Back from the dentist. All went well.
