I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

The new portal is here and (£160 later) ChampagneCat has decided it makes a beautiful window to the outside world, but not anything that could be considered a usable cat flap

In dull news, DDogs have got a deers leg each. DDog 2 1 has thoroughly enjoyed it, DDog 3 2 is very sceptical as it's covered in fur. It's currently sat on the hearth mat in a macabre sort of tableau, while she lies next to it and gives it dark looks.

GoldRhino · 08/04/2021 20:18

@Prokupatuscrakedatus Oh blimey. The worst we have had here was them getting behind a barrier and eating through our Sky wires so we had no wifi or tv for a few days.

How are we all today? I had a nice mooch in the garden and a walk with a friend, then made some crackle cakes

Ps bunnies say hello!

Has ChampagneCat ever had a cat flap before? Perhaps a bit of training is in order.

I don't know if I'd fancy having an actual deer's leg in the house as a dog chew.

In other news, our Amazon monthly subscribe and save delivery is due today, bringing sorely needed coffee and cat treats, which contain no actual animal body parts. Smile

Yes miss, when she was in the RSPCA there was definitely a flap from the inside to the outside of the pen, and she was in there a while I suspect this is the diva in her Grin

Our Subscribe and Save has been cancelled because of Brexit apparently. Fortunately it's just DH's joint supplements and frankly, if we've got cat treats then who cares? Wink

I've attached a photo of the body part. DH had to throw them away in the end because DDog 3 2 was so unsettled by its presence Grin

Lovely rabbits GoldRhino and welcome. Your grey rabbit looks very like our one, well ours is a bit more spherical from eating Easter Wink

I'm impressed how intact your sofa looks.

Sunbird I think if our rabbit escaped he would also be out jumping on cats. Quite surprised when we got him as we thought a rabbit would be nervous of the cat but very much the other way round.

I'm with DDog 2 about dead body parts in the house. Only whole live deer would be allowed in if they needed assistance. Bet rabbit would try to jump on it too.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/04/2021 21:13

Champagne Did you buy this body part or was it a pet's contribution to family meals?
Felix used to bring in live bats. A protected species - so I had to catch them and take them out again. They look quite fluffy.

I ordered the shoes.

forgetthehousework · 08/04/2021 21:18

DH took two hours to box up /wrap a parcel today. And that doesn't include the hour he spent looking for a box!
I left him to it and went and did some sewing.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/04/2021 21:25

I forgot to mention:
DH's papers are still on the big table. I added a candle, a tiny elephant, some stones I hammered out of the Berlin wall, an umbrella and box of bird seed.

Frownette · 08/04/2021 22:22

Hello bunnies.

ChampagneCat might need a bit of time to get used to the new one? They're funny like that.

I'm still being silly in supermarkets, today I picked up a small basket, wandered around picking up items then was queuing for the till when I realised the basket was empty and I was clutching it all to me. So hastily put it in.

Sobloodyexhausted · 08/04/2021 22:40

Started washing things by type today ie all towels or all socks to make the putting away but easier, We are a family if 5 so lots of washing. Seems to be effective.

Yelled at teen DS1 for barging noisily into the baby’s room and waking her just as I had got her off to sleep ( millionth time he’s done this this week and I had had enough)

I have a bad cold and my eyes are annoyingly watery..

Baby DD makes a super cute burble like a contented hen when she comes across something that interests her - quite often food related.

Loopsfer made me a insultingly low offer for the good quality nearly new baby clothes bundle I sent them but I accepted anyway as the hassle of getting the clothes back and paying for the postage both ways was too grim to contemplate.

sunnydaleslayer · 08/04/2021 22:41

I rearranged my dining room today. It was actually pretty exciting.

RhubarbFairy · 09/04/2021 00:56

That deer leg is horrific. I'm with the dog.

Today I put away lots of laundry and tonight I've picked up this work in progress to have a change from my other one.

In feline news, Cat1 has made herself fit on the footstool perfectly and has ousted DHs feet.

Kitchen plans going well dh has 2nd vac jab on Saturday, Dr who themed TVs stand for the bedroom I won’t have to climb over dh at night now, the drawers will be moved so room to get around. We brought a bed frame with a bottom worst thing we ever brought. Never mind, things will be easier soon.

HelenaJustina · 09/04/2021 07:36

@Sobloodyexhausted I’m the oldest of a very big family. My DMum had a ‘you wake them, you take them’ absolutely implacable rule re teenagers and babies/toddlers. You only have to look after a grumpy overtired toddler for one afternoon before you become much more considerate! Including when rolling in at 1am...

Frownette · 09/04/2021 07:38

I got 2 hours sleep last night - that may not sound like much but it's a start :)

Deathraystare · 09/04/2021 08:14

@GoldRhino

Cute Bunnies!

Well nothing too exciting except we have a ceiling leak at work right above our security monitor. I noticed my notebook getting wet yesterday and assumed that was from my water bottle. Anyway, today one of the porters who was on desk duty noticed where it was coming from.

Deathraystare · 09/04/2021 08:19

Apparently it is in the kitchen of the ward above. I bet it is obvious when the guy goes up there and they have not bothered to report it!

Squirrel26 · 09/04/2021 10:53

Just watched a video explaining how to hang curtains. I've been doing it wrong.

Frownette · 09/04/2021 11:05

@Deathraystare your building sounds all kinds of wrong Confused

I can't concentrate on study as there are house renovations going on one way and visitor next door speaking very loudly on the phone. Her voice is strident.

I'm thinking about lunch already, I think I'll have spiced rice with chickpeas and spinach

MissConductUS · 09/04/2021 14:47

Frownette, why so little sleep last night?

Not much new here. I rang my periodontist's office to pay the bill for my implant removal and bone graft, forgetting that they are closed on Fridays. The good news was that my dental insurance paid $210, which wasn't on the statement, so I owe less than the bill shows. I also have what's called a flexible spending account that I contribute to with pretax money and can be used towards medical and dental costs not covered by insurance. I'll use that account to pay them on Monday.

DH is very excited by the Ring system installation on Monday and has been reading the manuals and talking to the electrician about it.

DS has about a week left in his remote internship. I think he's enjoyed it but will miss the money. Now that he has funded a retirement account he is closely following the stock market. Smile He has no firm plans for the summer.

Happy with my crushes (actors not real life people) bit quiet otherwise.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/04/2021 15:31

It is still below 10° here.
I have added a plush dog to the paper table.

They are assemblng a rotary crane (?) a few blocks away, I can see workmen balancing high up - none of them hi viz.

Champagneforeveryone · 09/04/2021 16:03

Vexing prok, you would think on large cranes it would be mandatory to wear high viz Hmm

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/04/2021 17:10

Campagne
Yes, you'd think so, but no. They are ready now, only the driver (?) sits in his little box testdriving Grin the ... and here my English leaves me completely.

Frownette · 09/04/2021 17:17
