Champers well ChamperCat deserves the very finest! Work your hardest to keep her in prawns and catflaps.

Silkie I'm only on the net but even I think of mousey as being a pet Blush

What I've got so far is:
Mouse loves you
Bunny loves cat
Cat loves DH
Not sure about DS or chickens

I don't know what dull and unexciting news I have, perhaps that's dull and unexciting enough itself

sueelleker · 07/04/2021 13:18

@Frownette; DS loves chickens-not sure how they feel about him.

Frownette · 07/04/2021 13:32

suelleker thanks, I will update list.

I'm still a bit reluctant to bin ABs in case I need them again but speaking to doctor soon and she'll tell me if I'm being a prat and to put them in the bin. I trust her. She makes me smile as she's so young and sporty and enthusiastic.

MissConductUS · 07/04/2021 13:51

Welcome, @IWanderedLonely, and thanks for sharing your produce shopping news. I must admit that I had to google your items to determine that they were zucchini and eggplant. We like zucchini but eggplant is less popular at our house.

Frownette, how are you feeling? I agree, hang on to the AB's until you talk to the doctor, but given how poorly you felt on them I think they'll wind up in the bin.

Everyone over 18 years of age became eligible for covid vaccination in New York yesterday. I got on the website very early this morning and surprisingly was able to make appointments for both of the kids. DS will get his first jab a week from Sunday and DD will get hers the day after she gets back from uni in May. They are at two different locations, both about a 40-minute drive but easy to get to and park at. I may be able to book something sooner for DS at a local pharmacy that would be closer, but it's a huge relief to have something arranged for both of them. They'll very likely get either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. The supply of the J&J vaccine is still very limited, and it's being targeted at hard to get to populations and for use by mobile clinics.

Excellent news miss, it's such a relief isn't it? DM had her second last week, given her slightly laissez faire attitude to the lockdown applying to her rather than just other people this is a good thing.

I'm unexpectedly alone in the house. DS is at college at some sort of rehearsal and DH has been called in to work to help out for a couple of hours much to his dismay

The magical portal has not arrived yet Sad

sueelleker · 07/04/2021 15:08

Mobile dog groomer came today, and both dogs are clean, trim and smell beautiful. (The last bit won't stay that way for long)

Silkiescat · 07/04/2021 15:11

I'm not sure rabbit loves cat, he's curious about the cat but charges at her and tries to pounce on her so we have to seperate them, think he's making clear he is Rabbit ze boss.

Rabbit loves DS and DS loves rabbit - they are always together snuggling and stretched out on the sofa. The only issue is food, rabbit tries to snatch any food DS has, even tries to bite it as its going in his mouth so DS has to eat in secret. DS has sometimes left his meal under a blanket on the sofa to go to the bathroom, this never ends well for DS as rabbit jumps on sofa, goes under blanket and eats DS's meal and then you hear a DS shouting rabbit.

DS also worships the silkies - its harder to know how a chicken feels but the only person they talk to is me. They bork for DS but he says its for food. Though I don't think DS has ever spoken to them. He says he thinks they prefer taller people but they are tiny.

Back from a very chilly 6.1 mile walk and bench picnic with friends. DC will easily walk that far without moaning or whining as long as we are with friends. If I tried to take them without, my ears would be bleeding less than half way round. Am now thawing out...

Frownette · 07/04/2021 17:00

Champers make the most of it. It won't last long...

I had no idea rabbits were as affectionate as pets and had such a personality. I've never had one!

Helena yes my fingers are getting frozen on walks at the moment.

Miss I'll hold my horses on ABs at the moment but it was an utter thrill to be lucid again and not in a state of fever. Doctors thought it was more likely strep throat but I didn't have nodules.

Hope that @Sunbird24 and @SplendidSuns1000 are ok Flowers

Frownette · 07/04/2021 17:02

Well I mean I have a chocolate one but that's it Grin

forgetthehousework · 07/04/2021 17:16

I've enjoyed the heady excitement of buying a new clothesline prop and putting out the bin and recycling ready for emptying tomorrow.
Clothesline props seem to be in remarkably short supply and we had to visit a couple of shops before we found one. I'm not sure if this is because nobody uses them anymore or because everybody does ...

GoldRhino · 07/04/2021 18:14

Hi all, hope nobody minds if I join. I like the idea of this thread as I’m struggling with anxiety and PTSD at the moment.

I used to post photos of my bunny on another thread like this one so it’s possible some of you will remember him. He has a bunny lady love now!

Come and tell me your dull and unexciting news 13: Calmly through the day
Frownette · 07/04/2021 18:18

@GoldRhino nice to meet you :)

MissConductUS is the hostess but all welcome. So bunnies make good pets? I never knew.

GoldRhino · 07/04/2021 18:36

hi @Frownette! Bunnies make great pets. A lot of people have them as house bunnies these days as they can freeze to death outside. They’re both hilarious and adorable.

MissConductUS · 07/04/2021 18:37

Welcome, @GoldRhino, and thanks for joining us and sharing your bunny news. Of course you are welcome on the thread! Smile Your bunnies are adorable and go beautifully with your carpet and sofa.

Before an injury curtailed my running I used to see wild brown bunnies quite frequently. We have a lot of wildlife where I live.

I knew one family in a town where we used to live who had a rabbit as a pet and quite liked it. I think they got him originally because their kids were allergic to cats and dogs.

The family over the road from my parents have lambs in their outbuilding, can hear them even with the windows closed!

Champagneforeveryone · 07/04/2021 20:23

The portal has arrived and it's the wrong one.

The trauma involved in choosing and fitting this one means that I was unwilling to go to the hassle of changing it. The sight of DH wringing his hands and fretting over the fate of ChampagneCat should she sneak out the door at night means we now have the correct one arriving tomorrow.

I never thought I would be the type of person to spend £160 on a cat flap, yet here we are Hmm

Frownette · 07/04/2021 20:48

Ouch, £160! I don't know what I'm up to really, I am imprecise.

Frownette · 07/04/2021 21:42

I have a new girlfriend Blush

This only came about because of swimming thread on here and I thought I wanted to too so posted locally. She does too! I'm fed up of all male company. I have a new girlfriend! I'm jibberingly happy :)

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 07/04/2021 22:26

Spring.

All is calm again here.

sueelleker · 08/04/2021 08:35

Did anyone see the rabbits on For Love of Dogs last night?

Sunbird24 · 08/04/2021 10:05

Yes, so cute!

Squirrel26 · 08/04/2021 10:11

I love rabbits.
Unfortunately my dog really loves rabbits, so we can’t have one. He has to make do with staring longingly when we go to Pets At Home.

Sunbird24 · 08/04/2021 10:28

I had a pet rabbit as a child, it used to manage to get out of its run and hop along the main road through our village to the next street where it would hide under cars and jump out on unsuspecting cats to try and play with them. Neighbour would pick her up and drop her in their chicken run until we could come and collect her.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/04/2021 11:04

DD's friend had a rabbit that one day decided to rip down the curtain (boden length store type thing) and stuff it into her sleeping quarters.
She was tiny but strong and determined.
