My council tax has not been paid. As a diligent citizen I have phoned the council to enquire whether the fault is with my bank or them.
The lines are so busy my call will not connect, so I can only assume it's their fault Hmm

Squirrel26 · 06/04/2021 10:30

Email reminding me to collect my blind by the 10th. Alright, impatient. I believe you were the ones who were closed Sunday and yesterday.

Champagneforeveryone · 06/04/2021 13:20

The mystery is solved, apparently I did not set the DD up in time. I politely pointed out that I had done it online the day the bill arrived, to be curtly told that they had lots of mandates to work their way through and I was too late for this month.

So that's me told Hmm

Sunbird24 · 06/04/2021 13:28

Champers why didn’t you psychically divine the amount of the bill and set up the DD in advance? How rude of you! Hmm

MissConductUS · 06/04/2021 13:32

We just received our annual town tax bill on April 2nd, due the first day of May. It's interesting that your council tax bill came at the same time. Is it annual or more frequent?

RhubarbFairy · 06/04/2021 13:50

Council tax bills tend to be annual but you pay it over 10 months with a break at the beginning of the year. I think January/February (DH set it up so I pay it little mind). Ours arrived a few weeks ago and DH huffed and puffed over various increases.

Good to know that you have been put in your place Champers. Of course it's your fault. Grin

RhubarbFairy · 06/04/2021 13:51

How's your BP @Sunbird24?

Sunbird24 · 06/04/2021 14:09

It’s still not made it over 96/53 (usually 120/100) but they’ve let me out and just said to keep up the fluid intake, as Thad should bring it back to normal

Sunbird24 · 06/04/2021 14:09

Who’s Thad? Stupid phone!

Champagneforeveryone · 06/04/2021 14:39

I know, you'll be pleased to hear I'm suitably chastened.

It snowed just now Confused

DragonWillow · 06/04/2021 14:41

I just has a Hot Cross Bun Tea, it was pretty nice

RhubarbFairy · 06/04/2021 15:28

Thad sounds like he should definitely increase your blood pressure Grin

I have been sorting the shelves in our playroom. I do this periodically and then the become a dumping ground for half finished drawings that are never returned to and a magnitude of other crap.

I have arranged for our wooden easel to go and live in Y1 at my school and I'm going to take our whiteboard and magnets to have in my 1:1 room to hopefully encourage some reading and letter recognition.
Wonder if I can arrange to have it mounted on the wall.

MissConductUS · 06/04/2021 17:16

@Sunbird24, have some salty snacks as well. And don't drive until it comes back up a bit. I have high BP that I medicate for but it jumps around a lot and every so often the medication will work a bit too well and I get lightheaded from low BP

Rained a bit earlier. I'm wearing my brother's scarf which is scratchy new wool instead of my own which is very soft cashmere/silk which my father bought me in Venice in 2004.

Silkiescat · 06/04/2021 21:31

It snowed here too Easter Shock

Having co-op "irresistable luxury" lasagane for dinner which I suspect may have been overmarketed and I'm going to be disappointed but it sounded good. The silkies coop's nest boxes is now has new bedding in as the brown silkie finally moved and they have new vitamin apple cider drink.

DD is very cross with DH that she told him to wait for her parcel and he waited in but as he is very bad at hearing he didn't hear the door. DS sits by the front door on the sofa but only answers it if he is certain its just a parcel and runs away if someone unknown knocks as he hates people in the house. He is very happy with the no visitors lockdown rule as is the cat. Though the cat likes inspecting if any workmen have been in and inspects their work each night.

IWanderedLonely · 06/04/2021 21:59

Name-change from Rain.
I bought courgette & aubergine from the market today. DH hates both. I shall have fun smuggling them into meals.Grin

Silkiescat · 07/04/2021 02:32

Had toblerone and a cup of tea.

Frownette · 07/04/2021 03:17

Toblerone sounds nice. I'm facing a dilemma, my gold chocolate bunny with a bell looks too sweet to eat. But I want chocolate. Actually I guess I have one truffle left.

How is mousey?

Silkiescat · 07/04/2021 03:27

Not seen mousey tonight. I think he maybe depressed as DH has stopped leaving him cheese.

Though I am puzzled last night, I saw Rodrigo enter and I never saw him leave but no sign of him for 24 hours, so has he got a secret tunnel, is he dead from lack of cheese. Easter Shock

Silkiescat · 07/04/2021 05:23

DH just got up.

Rodrigo bounced in Easter Hmm

Frownette · 07/04/2021 05:43

I thought Rodrigo ran from DH!! But danced around in front of you!

I've just eaten some leftover pasta, it wasn't exciting. Just broccoli, soft cheese and mozzarella.

Frownette · 07/04/2021 05:44

I may be getting mouse and bunny confused? But to be fair you have a regular farmyard there

Silkiescat · 07/04/2021 06:55

Yes Rodrigo is scared of DH and so he came in once DH had left the room. He has gone now. Got some singing birds on the roof now.

Bunny isn't bothered by anything, as long as he has a constant food supply he is chilled. Fireworks, road drills just outside he doesn't care. An elephant could walk in and he wouldn't care, he would just go on his two back paws make cute front paws and ask for food whilst having masses already. Then he stretches himself out on the sofa and snuggles with DS as all that eating wears him out.

Champagneforeveryone · 07/04/2021 09:07

We are going to look at a new cattery today as our old one has closed.

Also ChampagneCat has a new magic portal cat flap being delivered today. It is a very fancy affair and cost more than my first car Grin

Silkiescat · 07/04/2021 09:23

I said to DH we need a mouse flap (one way) - I have a horrible feeling there live in the attic and are munching at the thatched roof. DH seems to regard them as pets now.
