@Spudlet oh that's a nightmare when you're driving. I remember many incidences of the boot coming open when you can't stop.

I just went for a short walk and wish I had taken my phone, there were a flock of birds doing things in the sky which would put the red arrows to shame, and a small wasteland patch has been attended to and is bursting with multi coloured flower glory.

Spudlet · 05/04/2021 17:47

@RhubarbFairy It was the bottom strap that came off on ours too - fortunately just one of them though! I think DH had not quite tightened it enough - fortunately we were nearly there so no harm done.

I am now looking for a cheap mountain bike secondhand as I don’t want my lovely hybrid bike to get too bashed up on these little jaunts. It’s a bit of a minefield as I don’t want to buy a nicked one 😬 DH has his disapproving face on again Easter Grin

Frownette · 05/04/2021 17:54

@Spudlet oh that's a shame, I just sold one yesterday.

Love the idea of DH disapproving looks Grin

I'm at a loose end now until tomorrow, I might go off to pester my friends

Frownette · 05/04/2021 18:06

Lots of best wishes to @Sunbird24 and @SplendidSuns1000

FrenchyQ · 05/04/2021 18:10

I hoovered our grass this afternoon

Spudlet · 05/04/2021 18:37

@FrenchyQ I am intrigued Easter Grin Why? How?

I put some blackout linings onto our bedroom curtains today, which was so dull I’d actually forgotten about having done it until just now.

Frownette · 05/04/2021 19:21

I need to get a chippendale table up the stairs? No-one actually realises it's chippendale. My mindset is a little like not on the louis quartoise, sweetheart. It has a coffee ring on it now. It's a nice house but it's temporary until my flat is ready. I'll grab hold of someone and yank it to my bedroom.

Frownette · 05/04/2021 19:23

Quartoze. My brain is going. I'll be able to get hold of someone soon to get the beast up to my bedroom

Spudlet · 05/04/2021 19:50

I am watching bikes on eBay. The disapproval levels are ramping up. I have been told very firmly that I am not allowed to buy any more gazebos (he makes it sound like it’s a habit: it was only one gazebo Easter Grin)

Spudlet · 05/04/2021 19:51

He is very protective of his garage space, is DH

Squirrel26 · 05/04/2021 19:54

I am having extremely posh oven chips from the Co-op for dinner. I know that they're extremely posh because they came in a cardboard box, not a plastic bag like normal chips.

Frownette · 05/04/2021 20:08

Is it posh if it's in cardboard?

I got the desk up the stairs, after falling down together and bashing my knee and screaming for the neighbour. I don't think anyone realises how valuable it is, they just think it's an old table. But I can relax now and set up my home office

RhubarbFairy · 05/04/2021 21:00

Guessing @FrenchyQ has astro turf.

@Spudlet, just keep sending him those BMW links.

I have been in the loft attempting to continue the purge. I got stuck in a loop of nostalgia having discovered some photos from the 90s. I do not look good in any of them.

Silkiescat · 05/04/2021 21:10

We are having steak and chips for dinner.

Silkies have new bedding apart from the next box which the brown silkie was refusing to move from - she is trying to make chicks but we only have girl silkies. Though an Easter chick or five would be lovely.

Hope you are OK Sunbird

Ordered some curtains for the living room, we still have the previous lady who lived here's curtains in there and she was 94 though they are nicely fitted but have those 80s flowers and orange on them.

Frownette · 05/04/2021 23:23

Hope your little mouse is ok.

I just made lovely chilled drink of expresso, maple syrup and milk. Couldn't be bothered to walk around finding out which shops were open on bank holiday Monday.

Frownette · 05/04/2021 23:30

I'm not sure what to do with my excess penicillin - I can swallow again properly and don't have fever/hallucinations upon awakening anymore. But I feel like a pharmacy, I have packets of penicillin everywhere. I hate them because they upset my stomach so I hardly took any.

I'll phone my doctor this week because it's not my judgement call, it's hers.

MissConductUS · 06/04/2021 00:37

Welcome, @FrenchyQ, and thanks for your gardening news. Can you post a picture of your lawn hoover?

Sorry I've been AWOL today. DH and I took a day of annual leave to deal with getting the cars serviced. We also had the electrician over to look at installing the Ring alarm system and outside security cameras. He's coming back next Monday to do the work. We're going to have one camera inside looking down the main hallway of the house so that I'll be able to watch the cats from work. Smile

I also took a nap this afternoon, then moved most of the plants that have been wintering in the living room out onto the deck. I'll post a picture at some point.

I hope everyone is doing well, especially @Sunbird24 and @SplendidSuns1000. Congratulations on your furniture acquisition, @Frownette.

Well it's antique and belongs to me...

I'm starting to think I was not as hallucinatory as I'd previously thought, neighbour banged around earlier for a cigarette. At first I was like "shut up, go away" then I got of bed and gave him one. A cigarette that is. He knows that I'm trying to stop but keep an emergency packet.

Oh sodding hell I just have to throw them away now don't I? Can't deal with any past 1am cigarette demands. I know it's a hard addiction to quit.

Perhaps I really did hear people banging on my door and I wasn't as hallucinatory as I'd thpught

FrenchyQ · 06/04/2021 04:40

Sorry, yes I have artifucial grass . My husband thought he was being clever cutting daughters hair outside the evening before so had to get Henry out.

Frownette · 06/04/2021 06:26

Henry will always be my favourite hoover. Or vacuum cleaner. I'm quite mad now that all the time I was in a fever and thought people were at the door and thought I was going insane turns out I wasn't?! There WAS actually someone at the door. If he calls again I'll get out my emergency packet and eat them one by one whilst maintaining eye contact then lick my lips. What a fucker!! Excuse my language.

Silkiescat · 06/04/2021 06:39

We have a new blue Henry but confusingly it came in a red Henry box.

Sunbird24 · 06/04/2021 07:11

Orderly woke me up at 0655 to take my blood pressure etc (assuming it’s still low as he tried it 4 times!)
“Have you opened your bowels today?”
“I’ve only just opened my eyes so I hope not”

Take them back to the chemist-they can't re-use them, but will dispose of them for you.
HelenaJustina · 06/04/2021 09:16

The highlight on the calendar for today is taking a child to an orthodontist appointment. Though 2ndDC and I may attempt their last Bakedin kit. And I need to clean the bathrooms - it’s all go here!

Frownette · 06/04/2021 09:36

Yes I'll do that sueelleker.

A friend pretended mock horror this morning that I could speak again properly. He was saying "no peace now". I'm going to be on site this afternoon, how weird
