Congratulations @SplendidSuns1000! Flowers

Frownette · 02/04/2021 23:57

Sunbird24 do you feel a bit safer at your parents?

I just ate really late.

EggyPegg · 03/04/2021 00:10

@Squirrel26. Do it. Dooooo it. Life is too short not to.

I have finished off the Bailey's in the fridge. I just tried to get off the sofa and my head span so I sat back down. I am taking extra care to proof read this post.

The sexism is real in the ski industry. Identical helmets. The women's one is the Mirage. The men's is the Driver. Very manly.

Sunbird24 · 03/04/2021 00:52

@Frownette I wouldn’t have said so, I thi no it’s probably just a coincidence.
It hurts, and I’m allergic to paracetamol (acetaminophen for our USfriends) and brufen, so trying to manage with a heat pad. Now I’m too hot. 🤦‍♀️

Frownette · 03/04/2021 01:01

Aww. Have you got a comforting drink? Is there any other pain relief you can take?

Sunbird24 · 03/04/2021 01:03

Nothing below morphine and that feels like overkill! Confused

Silkiescat · 03/04/2021 01:06

Sunbird So sorry you have lost your baby. I hope the pain subsidies. If not maybe see if a doctor/111 as its bank holidays now can prescribe something you can take. Flowers

Frownette · 03/04/2021 01:10

111 could send the prescription to a chemist near you. See how it goes. I hope you've got a hot drink and something to watch to distract you if you can't sleep.

Silkiescat · 03/04/2021 01:11

Congratulations Splendid on the pregnancy and getting the beetle, will this be your first?

Just had an orange juice and 2 anti-histamines as breathing isn't great again and Rodrigro or Ferraro is currently on the loose as we are trying to sleep. I tried pretending I was a cat but he didn't seem very scared. He's ignroing our humane mouse trap which has been there a week or so now.

Frownette · 03/04/2021 01:15

There's a mouse on the loose...? I missed that.

Silkiescat · 03/04/2021 01:21

Yes and in our bedroom, think its waiting for DH to be completely asleep, its scared of DH but thinks its party time when it sees me only.

Remember Mum giving us Kaolin and Morphine as a kid, remember Mum used to leave about 30 medicine bottles in our bedrooms and my brother once suggested we have a medicine tasting party which we did.

Silkiescat · 03/04/2021 01:34

The mose has just left our room, quite impressive how he does it, he climbs on a black bar then jumps to the top of the step which must be 10 times his height then jumps again the same to get to the beam we have to step over to get out which is similar height, sometimes he claws his way up the door frame. Then he scuttles off down the beam.

Frownette · 03/04/2021 07:43

That's quite impressive your mother trusted you with it. Mouse obviously thinks it's part of the household now.

I was given rum in my dream and woke up feeling hungover even though I only had lemon tea last night.

Has pain assided a little Sun?

Squirrel26 · 03/04/2021 10:39

Apparently mice can squeeze through holes the width of a biro.

Just realised I left the paint for the stairs outside all night. It didn't rain or freeze though, so I'm just going to assume it's fine.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/04/2021 10:56

I wanted to spent time doing some housework (yes, I am about to cave), but it has only 14°C in my desk area. Sitting uncomfortably with my foot up watching my fingers turn blue while I do the accounts - no.
I am back on my bed with the laptop.

Nydj · 03/04/2021 11:05

Congratulations on the arrival of the car and the pregnancy @SplendidSuns1000!

Nydj · 03/04/2021 11:06

@Sunbird24, I’m so sorry xx

HairyFeline · 03/04/2021 12:31

I’ve just thinned out the raspberry canes. So prickly!

Frownette · 03/04/2021 15:11

At least you'll have lovely raspberries as a result!

I just travelled for Easter, it made me feel a bit dizzy in the bright sunshine after being in bed with a fever for a few days.

Squirrel26 · 03/04/2021 15:24

Ordered a blind. It is an unexciting beige-ish linen.
Finished painting the stairs. Need to do the base of the window seat and one more shelf.
Wondering if I want a takeaway for dinner. I'm not sure I do; I think I'm just looking for novelty.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/04/2021 16:08

Now the light is back and the sun shines through the windows I can see how very tired the flat is (abgewohnt). It needs paint, and a deep clean.
But this won't happen: they are all busy, and do not really see the need as it is neither structurally damaging or a health or safety risk. Oh well ...

MissConductUS · 03/04/2021 16:22

Happy Caturday one and all!

Welcome back, @HairyFeline. You were on our last thread if I recall correctly. We have lots of wild raspberry plants in our yard and the neighborhood in general. I think they usually yield fruit in July.

The men are doing a roast chicken, au gratin potatoes with gruyere cheese, and sweet baby peas for Easter dinner tomorrow, I can't wait.

The roast chicken will be a big hit with the cats, who are resting up in anticipation. Smile

it is really important to be well rested before a meal, and after and generally. Sev was a great "rester". Smile

This will be my first Easter without a chocolate bunny. DH left it too late and now there aren't any anywhere. In fact there is no chocolate in the house. I'll bake him the Frownette approved cake for cold weather.

HairyFeline · 03/04/2021 17:02

@MissConductUS Yes, I’m thoroughly enjoying this thread! The raspberries I have are autumn fruiting, from about September to November usually. It’s very nice to make a batch up as Xmas presents!

Champagneforeveryone · 03/04/2021 18:10

ChampagneCat has been outside Confused

We've had her 8 months and she's shown little interest, having been found as a pregnant stray. The spring weather however has prompted a renewed interest in the great outdoors.

"I'm not bothered if we even have a cat" DH is now googling electronic cat flaps so he can track where she is at all times Grin
