I’ve had 2 cold sores pop up today so have emailed the dr for a repeat prescription of a I l’obit tablets. At least I can safely take them now.

Hope your ABs kick in really quickly for you Frownette and you feel better soon

Sunbird24 · 30/03/2021 15:12

That should be aciclovir tablets, my autocarrot does like to try and use French corrections even when I’m using the English keyboard

Frownette · 30/03/2021 15:20

Autocarrot :)

Yeah they do get up to weird things. Sacré bleu!

Silkiescat · 30/03/2021 15:26

Our rabbit says were can you get autocarrot? That is his dream, a permanent carrot supply. Smile

Only woke up an hour ago, another beautiful day, just had mozerralla, parma ham and grapes and now drinking a cup of tea and continuing 90 day fiance.

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the grass needs cutting. (There's always a flyfly in the lemonade of life Grin)

forgetthehousework · 30/03/2021 17:05

OK, there's two flies ...

Sunbird24 · 30/03/2021 17:21

@forgetthehousework

OK, there's two flies ...
Well if you can have a horsefly and a housefly, why shouldn’t you have a flyfly too? 🤷🏻‍♀️

DH had a flat tire last night. He was able to put some air in and get home but this morning it was completely flat. A local garage came, pumped it up, took it back to their shop and fixed it. They said he must have hit a pothole because the tire was fine but the rim was a bit dented. It's sorted now, how I do not know. He's pleased that the tire is okay, as it's a brand new Perilli snow tire.

He also had his second Pfizer jab this morning. He's at work, with just a mild headache so far. He had the same after the first jab. Lots of people get much worse side effects after the second dose, so fingers crossed he'll be okay. The poor bloke is not having a good day. Smile

Frownette, I'm glad you got your new rx. What did the GP give you?

Sunbird, I had to google orange matchmakers. They look really good. I hope you get to relax and unwind a bit this weekend.

i am sitting here again at my WFH desk (foot above heart height) with the door to the terasse open enjoying the slightly less cold air and the sight of NDN now setting up lavender plants.
Morose pidgeon was here and misjudged his take off direction and banged into the window. He was fine apart from his dignity.

Miss, Amoxicillan. My doctor is very bright which might be an odd thing to say about a doctor but she's exceptionally quick to realise what's going on and solve so I just had to pick them up from chemist.

It was pretty obvious I was starting to get distressed with fever and penicillin and didn't know which way to turn.

Silkiescat · 30/03/2021 18:47

Amoxcillin is pencillin based, that's the main one I can't have.

Frownette · 30/03/2021 19:27

Aaargh jesus Silkie I thought I was safe.

So this is a relative of penicillin? I thought it was a pretend cousin.

Can't seem to turn anywhere. I'm back on site Thursday, I need my innards to behave and be able to talk.

Silkiescat · 30/03/2021 19:44

Yes it's one of the pencillin family and one I have to avoid:

www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-1531-3295/amoxicillin-oral/amoxicillin-oral/details

If you phone 111 sometimes a doctor will just send a non-pencillin antibiotic prescription to any chemist for you to collect or call your surgery again tomorrow.

Just putting the old dining chairs and old chicken coop out for council collection tomorrow. Wondering what to do about our sofas - we had two beautiful leather sofas we got about 14 years ago but now rabbit has eaten big holes in the cushions. Hmm DS will only sleep on those sofas and rabbit and DS are inseperable. Reupolstering will cost around £800 per sofa and rabbit will just eat again. Only thing he doesn't eat is metal but DS loves everything soft. At least in lockdown no-one comes round. They also are fairly big and irregular shape. I have throws but DS tends to move them around. Am investigating cushion covers can buy but not sure they will fit.

Looked at advice on it said buy a leather sofa, its the only thing rabbits don't eat, hope no-one took that advice, at least no-one told our rabbit.

Silkies I don't understand this now? I had a bad reaction to penicillin so they prescribed me...a milder penicillin? I've only taken 2 so far but can feel the fever coming on again. No bad stomach reaction yet. It's not like I'm really ill, just have a temperature so that makes me pass out. It's not COVID, tested neg.

Cat used to tear up the sofa, they love doing that. I swear they do a cat cackle whilst at it.

Ask for Doxycycline. It's non-penicillin based, highly effective and "cheap as chips" as you all say. Grin

I have a dining room chair whose cushion has been systematically shredded by Dboycat over the years. He does it right in front of me too.

Miss I can't demand any more drugs, they'll think I'm the crack cocaine tonsil bitch from hell. I'll try to get on with the Amoxicillin for now but I'm back in office Thursday so need to speak and not pass out anywhere. "Here is your colleague." Where??? In the corner by the pot plant?

Cats absolutely do it on purpose. They even look amused when they're shredding something with their little claws, looking loveable as they do so.

Nydj · 30/03/2021 21:45

You absolutely can and should demand more drugs if the ones they have given you are making you ill Frownette . Please don’t be all ‘I don’t want to make a ‘ about things to do with your health.

EggyPegg · 31/03/2021 00:26

Definitely ask for different drugs @Frownette. You can offer to return these ones to them if you think they'll be concerned that you're abusing them.

I'm so sorry @Sunbird24 Flowers

Silkiescat · 31/03/2021 00:46

If the amoxycillin is making you feel ill I would not take it and just phone doctors or 111 and say its making you feel about to pass out / ill and you may be allergic to pencillin but still have tonsillitus. I was told by a doctor to say I was allergic rather than just ill with them then they are more careful about not giving you them.

23C here tomorrow, shame nothing is open, all the outdoor swimming opens on 2 April by which time its back to 9C. DH said the cat wasn't too impressed with him putting 3 dining chairs out for collection and she quickly sat on the 4th one though he had left one for her.

EggyPegg · 31/03/2021 06:42

I was told by a doctor to say I was allergic rather than just ill with them then they are more careful about not giving you them.

Exactly this. I say that I'm allergic now and they swiftly find me an alternative. Though I like to complicate things further and explain that as I'm vegetarian, I won't have anything in a capsule as they contain gelatine.

They still always manage to find me something.i had amoxicillin as a child without issue, so I do think that it's something that can develop rather than that you're born with.

EggyPegg · 31/03/2021 06:46

I'm looking forward to another sunny day. I'm dressed in my summer maxi dress today.

Last day at work for me today. Then I must focus on the assignment I have due tomorrow. I finished my first concept map yesterday on the fourth attempt as I kept drawing myself into a corner.

Also, last night I went to put my folder back in my work bag and discovered a stowaway.

Deathraystare · 31/03/2021 07:30

Well, I am not happy. Came into work, got on the 'pooter and got an email from TFL. Apparently, the 60+ travel card they recently sent me will be stopped in a few days cos no one told me when I rang for a new one (lost old one) that I would need to give proof of where I am (what borough) . Ok maybe in hindsight it is obvs.

I tried to get online but they now don't recognise the card number. Oh, they also want an additional £20 for this. Well I hope TFL enjoy their Christmas Party!!!!!

I am waiting for a new bank card so eve if it recognised my card details I cannot yet pay for another. Blast, damn and bugger!

Deathraystare · 31/03/2021 07:35

Our little black cat used to do this. We stopped her but she did that thing that like kids do. Would go up to it , look around and then 'dab' it with her paw and when we made a warning noise, would look back with an insolent "what?" look on her face! Fond memories.

Therainisback · 31/03/2021 07:48

In celebration of the good weather yesterday I wore a new pair of shoes ( having lived in boots since November)
I now have a blister under my big toe.

Therainisback · 31/03/2021 07:50

Also - anyone who's had their Covid jab. Is it normal for my arm to be red & hot to the touch after 10 days?
