DH missed Zoom church this morning. It seems God was aware of the clock change but DH was oblivious.

I cannot log into the Ordnance Survey site which is extremely frustrating. I may have to resort to an actual paper map

We had pork with black pepper sauce for dinner. We also had homemade rosti for breakfast with hollandaise sauce, bacon, asparagus and poached egg, so all in all today has been an excellent one.

Back to work tomorrow. Only for one day and then three days on a course that could fit into one day at a push. So that will be fun Hmm

Squirrel26 · 28/03/2021 21:37

I couldn’t log on to Ordnance Survey last week either. But I’m not sure if my subscription might not have been renewed because the card expired. Added it to long list of ‘boring and annoying life admin jobs that need doing.’

Having a cup of tea. Dog is making a noise that suggests someone is sticking pins in him. In fact, he has seen a cat out of the window.

News story about hi-vis!

Squirrel26 · 28/03/2021 22:32

Only 20 people in high vis? I’m pretty sure I see about that at work on a daily basis. They seem to like to travel in packs for extra safety. Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 28/03/2021 23:28

Hi vis live in neons between 3 and 25 (the yellow variety), the orange ones seem to be loners, according to my observations (our street and construction sites of all sizes).

Occasionally you see individuals usinig hi vis mimikry to blend in, they are usually found in the vicinity of bikes.

mathanxiety · 29/03/2021 05:59

I cooked enough dinner tonight to last us til at least Wednesday (sliced smoked turkey sausage, chicken, black beans and rice casserole, seasoned with thyme, nutmeg, cloves, allspice). Also did laundry, cleaned the kitchen within an inch of its life, did a Walmart shop and only forgot one thing.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/03/2021 07:28

math Only one thing! Congratulations!

I usually clean thoroughly before Easter. But I can't at the moment.
Dh thinks this belongs largely into the field of unnecessary work women are trained to do by society.

Tired weekend here. I gave blood on Friday and it’s wiped me out ever so slightly. Combined with the clock change as well 🥱 I feel like I could sleep for a week!

No hi-vis shenanigans to report here - our hi-vis sightings are almost exclusively cyclists going up and down our road. We are very excited (in a sleep-deprived sort of way) to be allowed out to exercise more than once a day from today though, particularly Spuddog as it means he can have a leisurely walk and not have to try and keep up with DS on his bike. Spuddog doesn’t mind a brisk trot, but he likes to take his time to appreciate all the subtle nuances of all the smells, and he doesn’t really get to do that when DS is approaching warp speed 😬

I think large special occasion cleaning definitely falls into that category, prok! I find myself doing extra cleaning before putting the Christmas tree up - why? It’s just going to drop stuff all over the place anyway!

Sunbird24 · 29/03/2021 10:59

News is opposite of exciting - should be unpregnant again in a couple of weeks

Champagneforeveryone · 29/03/2021 11:54

Oh sunbird, I'm so sorry ❤️

Silkiescat · 29/03/2021 12:38

So sorry sunbird Sad Flowers Lots of love and hugs.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/03/2021 12:48

I am so sorry!

Sunbird24 · 29/03/2021 12:57

There were two men in hi-vis in the car park when I was trying to have a good sob in my car - both yellow. Sounds like they’re planning on digging up the shrubs at the ends of the rows.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/03/2021 13:16

A workman is here for boiler service - ordinary blue work clothes, nothing hi vis about him.

MissConductUS · 29/03/2021 15:03

I'm so sorry Sunbird. Flowers

Thanks for the advice on allergies, I seem to allergic to anything plant like atm which is making breathing hard and making me drowsy. Need to hoover more round the house.

Lovely day here and we finally got to go out, first family day out since the summer due to lockdown / isolations / house move. Though DS stayed here saying he doesn't like punting but he seemed happy to stay and he's been out to school for 11 days now so seen friends again. Refuses to see them out of school as they belong at school.

So lovely sunny day, maybe around 20C though strong current and none of us had any punting experience so didn't get very far but it was empty and beautiful. DH organised for birthdays as ever then grabbed me a box of chocolates from the petrol station. To be fair he's lovely all year but he is really bad with presents. He is just making me a late lunch of smoked salmon bagel.

HildaTablet · 29/03/2021 16:56

Oh, I’m so very sorry, Sunbird Flowers

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/03/2021 17:17

20C - silkie!! I think we managed 16° today.

I am looking for comfortable (orthopaedic) shoes for when I am allowed to wear shoes again:
shoes
And I've found an orthopaedic shoemaker almost round the corner who can turn almost every shoe into sth wearable.

Silkiescat · 29/03/2021 17:33

22C tomorrow Prok Shock Though back to 9C on Friday which is outdoor lido day. Hmm

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/03/2021 17:47

silkie Now I am really envious - not that I can go anywhere or sit on the terasse.

Squirrel26 · 29/03/2021 17:48

I'm so sorry, @Sunbird24. Flowers

Punting sounds brilliant. It was so nice here this morning I was out in a t-shirt.

Frownette · 29/03/2021 17:57

Sun how are you?

I saw a friend today. And am back on site later in the week. This is so unusual after a year's absence it may be overwhelming. I'm used to being trapped in a metaphorical cage.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/03/2021 18:34

DD says those shoes are too "old", but if I've got this type of feet?
