I know there will be a lot of you out there holding Nanzanin in your thoughts today as she is due back in court. Let’s all hope (and pray, if that’s your thing) for the right outcome.

OP posts:
Flamingolingo · 14/03/2021 07:52

I cannot believe they let her ‘out’ only to be summoned back again. It’s incredibly cruel. I will be watching with interest.

Charlieiscool · 14/03/2021 07:53

It’s heartbreaking how she’s been used as a pawn by the Iranians. It’s kidnapping for ransom basically. Terrible.

GaryUnicorn · 14/03/2021 07:55

I keep checking the internet for any news

OutsideTheWhiteHouse · 14/03/2021 07:56

Thinking of Nazanin today. What that woman has been put through is chilling. Please let today be the beginning of the end of her nightmare.

MassDebate · 14/03/2021 07:57

Shocking that the embassy declined to attend. She is yet another woman that has been let down horribly by this government, and with evidence of torture too. What does it take for this government to act?

FeltCarrot · 14/03/2021 07:59

Will be hoping for her complete freedom today.

ThrowingAShellstrop · 14/03/2021 08:00

I don’t understand why the embassy declined to attend. Why aren’t they fighting harder for her release? She’s being used as a political pawn. It’s horrifying.

TheLaughingGenome · 14/03/2021 08:03

What are Johnson and Raab up to? Anything?

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe needs continuing high level govt and diplomatic support that actually means something, not the odd bit of hand-wringing while Iran carries on its unacceptable behaviour towards a British woman.

Superstardjs · 14/03/2021 08:03

Another one refreshing news sites waiting to hear. The poor woman's nerves must be beyond shredded, I am horrified (but not surprised) they are doing this to her.

iMatter · 14/03/2021 08:06

I'm ashamed at the way the government have dealt with this.

Hoping against hope that today sees the end of this nightmare for her

GreenBalaclava · 14/03/2021 08:07

Thinking of her today.

Rae36 · 14/03/2021 08:11

I am ashamed of our government today. Unless the embassy were banned from attending in some way.
I don't know how she is still functioning. I would be broken by all of this. She is amazing, her whole family are amazing.

peridito · 14/03/2021 08:15

Another here with Nanzanin in my thoughts .

thirdfiddle · 14/03/2021 08:15

I'm thinking of her but without any real hope. If it was a real legal process she'd have been found innocent the first time.

FedNlanders · 14/03/2021 08:17

:(

ChancesWhatChances · 14/03/2021 08:19

My heart breaks for her, I can’t even begin to imagine how she must feel. Everything crossed for her Daffodil

Clawdy · 14/03/2021 08:20

Fingers crossed, but I'm not feeling positive. No support from the government, dreadful.

ChancesWhatChances · 14/03/2021 08:21

@MassDebate seriously?! WhT possible reason could they have to justify not attending?? If they say covid I’ll batter them over the head with tonight’s fish fillets.

ChancesWhatChances · 14/03/2021 08:21

*what

megletsecond · 14/03/2021 08:25

I don't understand how Iran can get away with it.

MassDebate · 14/03/2021 08:25

Ineptitude @ChancesWhatChances? They have let her down consistently over the past five years so I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised Angry

TokyoSushi · 14/03/2021 08:27

Yes, I've had her in the back of my mind all week, really hoping for a good outcome but also fearful this might not be the case Flowers

Frazzled2207 · 14/03/2021 08:28

I think about her a lot and am not especially hopeful.
I think possibly some kind of publicity stunt ahead of releasing her? I really hope so
I am totally wound up every time Jeremy hunt comes on and says government must do xyz. He was Foreign sec for quite a while or her imprisonment and IIRC didn’t do much at all to sort it out.

EvilPea · 14/03/2021 08:29

Boris Johnson may as well have thrown her in jail himself. Poor woman and her poor daughter.

MajorMujer · 14/03/2021 08:29

Hoping for the best. Flowers
