My respect for the Duchess has just shot up. For a Royal, this is pretty bold and brave.

Not forgetting other women - if you attended the vigil tonight, thank you for sticking up for women's rights. Let's hope this is an opportunity for the Met Police to review and change how they treat both offending officers and female victims

@Thewithesarehere I don't think you realise the extent of the culture of both misogyny and 'protecting your own' in police forces in this country. They'll have known it was him. And they'll protect each other to the bigger end when it all comes out that they knew and did nothing. Domestic violent rates are disproportionately high in police officers - yet they are rarely sacked. Ask yourself why.
Clue: it's not Kate Middleton's fault

Thewithesarehere So you’re saying we shouldn’t judge the met institution for its racism and sexism but should the royals? All prejudice and corruption everywhere needs to be called out and rooted out, all of it. Why would the met be any different? Worse is the met affects more of us and directly every day, it literally affects our rights to justice and living in safety. And its history is awful. I think the same of the royal institution - not individuals like Meghan or Kate.

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 14/03/2021 01:36

I know what it means, not sure you do though.

If it was click bait @viques I'd be getting paid.

'This is why I am asking where the process broke. that number plate should have set processes in motion automatically.'

Have you had any dealings with the met? Out of interest. Or family who have. In particular, around a sex offence and the victim was female.

Theythinkitsalloveritisnow · 14/03/2021 01:37

The brave men and women of the met police? What, like Wayne Couzens? Or are you thinking of our valiant boys assaulting peaceful protesters? Meh I think I'll leave you to your slavering over violent misogynists

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 14/03/2021 01:38

Are you comparing the brave men and women of Met police with KM?

@Thewithesarehere it is beyond inappropriate to come on a thread about a woman who has been murdered, in all likelihood by a Met police officer, and say "brave men and women of the Met police". Many of those 'brave' men and women will be utterly complicit in the failings to protect women and have sex offending officers on their force. Take your boot licking elsewhere

'I have given away my work, haven’t I?
I think there is an organised PR campaign here on this forum. Actually more than one campaigns have taken place here but one is run by the RF’s machine.
Don’t cry misogyny. I have said upthread that I would have been upset at anyone from RF turning up.'

Don't cry misogyny?

Jesus Christ.

Remember warboys?
Remember Reid?

Remember all the massive issues with the sapphire unit?

You need to do some reading tbh.

No I am not saying that at all! Where did I say that? If you go back and dig my posts from the time around Manchester blast and the threads around Shamima Begum, you will see that I have been writing how police has many times warned that their resources have been cut so severely, they are sure to miss their targets. In the other thread where I am posting at the moment, I have written other experiences I have had with the underfunding situation.

Sexism and racism are two huge problems that have been exacerbated by chronic underfunding.

Sorry but I have seen their work first hand.

And your thread is not about Sarah Everard. It’s about Kate Middleton (with a click bait title to boot).

Theythinkitsalloveritisnow · 14/03/2021 01:41

Your right, @Thewithesarehere, I have not heard of KM murdering or assaulting anyone, so absolutely no comparison

PicsInRed · 14/03/2021 01:41

@TomBradysLeftKneecap

My mum has early onset Dementia and I absolutely LOVE her version of events. This is her version.... Kate meets William and wants to be Queen Kate gets a huge boner for Harry William is gay Harry meets Meghan and falls in love hard Kate is devastated Kate destroys Harry and Meghan via William Kate kills William and then becomes Queen (then the plot starts losing some credibility....)
Um, isn't that kind of how Catherine the Great of Russia came to the throne... or close enough... Grin
NiceGerbil · 14/03/2021 01:42
  1. KM is some kind of bastard and no way does she care about VAWG
  2. met are awesome and brave (??!!?)
  3. 'cry misogyny'. - lovely

There's something who's no friend of women and it's not KM.

are you enjoying yourself on this thread?

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 14/03/2021 01:42

@BaggoMcoys

If it's a pr stunt then it's a very surprising one. Senior royals are supposed to steer clear of anything political.

The police had said women should stay away. So she went against that. Also the fact that it looks like a police officer committed the murder.

A very unusual move for a senior royal.

My thoughts too. Was pleasantly surprised to see this thread.

Kind of wish Meghan was in the country and could have gone along with her, maybe the queen too. Royal Women United.

Now there is an idea

Not a Meghan fan but reckon she definitely would have turned out.

Like the group name tooGrin

'Sexism and racism are two huge problems that have been exacerbated by chronic underfunding.'

Sexism? I thought it was 'crying misogyny'. Make your mind up.

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 14/03/2021 01:43

Sexism and racism are two huge problems that have been exacerbated by chronic underfunding.

This is total and utter bullshit.

Why do forces need money for their officers not to be sexist and racist? If the Met police were operating from a shed, with 4 staff and two cans attached by string instead of a telephone, there should be no sexism and racism.

Stop making excuses. It's a culture issue, and all the money in the world cannot change a whole working culture

Yea I imagine the many rape victims they also failed have seen their 'work' first hand (I take it you work for them or are close to someone who does - explains it).

My thread is about DoC AND sarah Everard. HTH

Yes it can. hiring and retaining talent is directly connected with change. In this case, the officers didn’t think one of their own should be suspended for something that didn’t look serious. That is a sexism problem. Their search and identification of his car should have set alarms right away. That is a process problem and highlights a security lapse in the IT system. That is a funding and resourcing problem.
Theythinkitsalloveritisnow · 14/03/2021 01:49

I think it's safe to say @Thewithesarehere couldn't give a fuck about Sarah Everard

For you the met police come first, right? I mean they are so brave and everything
Theythinkitsalloveritisnow · 14/03/2021 01:55

@thewithsarehere yes, unfortunately I have read your posts. Mealy mouthed apologism for the met police.
