I cry at most things Blush especially things like the Good Dinosaur, Up etc... but these are “grown up” and they still make me cry.

The spies goodbye in Agents of Shield, and the bit where all the adults are volunteering to die so that others can live in The 100 Sad

Recently watched Steel Magnolias and I know it’s sad, but the scene where Sally Fields rants about why at the funeral had me in absolute floods.

SingToTheSky · 10/03/2021 09:25

Loads of moments in scrubs. I love the show but I don’t watch it often. When Cox loses it (the time with How to save a life in the background), when he realises he’s at the funeral for Jordan’s brother, when Carla is talking to Laverne in the hospital bed, when you realise Carla is the one who’s been crying in the postnatal ward. It’s such a funny show but the emotional moments just strike me so hard.

Some moments get me tearful but not proper crying as I’ve seen them so often - in friends where Phoebe talks to the newborn triplets, and when Rachel finds out she is pregnant. When Harry comes out of the maze with Cedric’s body “that’s my boy” 😭

I absolutely bawled at the end of the imitation game. But then I also cried when I was at Bletchley park standing in front of the official pardon they gave Turing, just knowing what it meant.

The end of A Beautiful Mind.

Many moments in Thirteen Reasons Why, but most notably the dance in the first series (I have the song about the lonely traveller on my “I need a cry” playlist) and I think it’s season 2 or 3 when they have all the photos of the friends at the end.

Sex Education s2 when all the girls are smashing the plates etc in the train yard thing.

Ghost!!

thebabessavedme · 10/03/2021 10:10

The bit in the Railway Children when daddy emerges from the steam on the railway platform, I'm nearly 60 and my delightful family like to make me watch the bloody film every christmas just so they can yell, 'there she goes' hahaha, and I do, every bloody time Blush

showgirl63 · 10/03/2021 10:14

Daddy, my Daddy! Railway children
Just typing it I can feel tears!

Omg I came here to add this one. Set me off already!

One year it was on the advert for Film4 so I kept having to leave the room during ad breaks so I didn't start bawling.

JustDavesWife · 10/03/2021 10:19

The very ending of City of Angels! Such an old film but i love it.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 10/03/2021 10:20

The end of Ghost.everytime! "It's beautiful Molly" 😭

Soubriquet · 10/03/2021 10:22

I’ve never actually seen the railway children Blush

When Michael dropped dead in Jane the virgin

SingingWaffleDoggy · 10/03/2021 10:23

Pearl Harbour. I cry when I hear the music at the beginning as I know what’s going to happen. I think that’s because even though it’s not a true story, it’s based on historical events that actually happened, people lost loved ones and fell in love with all this happening around them. So the love story could have happened, and possibly did.

CocoPark · 10/03/2021 10:26

Oh loads!

TV

The end of the Office Christmas Special with Tim and Dawn. Every time!
Ross and Rachel prom video
Agree Scrubs is often surprisingly moving!

Films -

Homeward bound ending
Legends of the Fall ending
Death of Littlefoot's mother in Land Before Time
Dumbo Baby Mine scene!!
Shall We Dance escalator scene 🌹

Pinkycheeks · 10/03/2021 10:26

Toy story 3. Holding hands as they approach the furnace.... yep face red and watery just typing it.

CaffeineAndCrochet · 10/03/2021 10:27

Two scenes in Inside Out. When Bing Bong disappears and when Riley breaks down at the end.

The 'it's not your fault' scene in Good Will Hunting.

TheBlackTower · 10/03/2021 10:28

Disney's Dumbo - the scene where baby Dumbo visits his caged Mother and the most heartbreaking song 'Baby Mine' plays while she cradles him in her trunk through the bars.

PeskyRooks · 10/03/2021 10:29

When the black rabbit comes down at the end of Watership Down (the proper cartoon one) and says "You're tired Hazel..." and then Hazel dies..
Also "that'll do pig" from Babe
And when The Snowman has melted

MrsL2016 · 10/03/2021 10:30

The scene in Stepmom when Susan Sarandon says that she will be children's past and Julia Roberts will be their future. Welling up thinking about it now.

riotlady · 10/03/2021 10:35

Michelle Pfeiffer’s speech at the end of The Story of Us makes me ugly cry every single time!

When baby Dory gets lost in Finding Dory xD

Lots and lots of Buffy, but especially when Sarah Michelle Gellar collapses on her bed crying. She’s such a convincing crier! And when Tara leaves Willow and “Goodbye to You” plays

CuriousaboutSamphire · 10/03/2021 10:36

Watched The Hairy Bikers last night. Them in Poland, I cried!

ItsFriyay · 10/03/2021 10:37

There’s a scene in the final series of Mad Men when Sally reads a letter from her mum Betty.
“Your life will be an adventure”. God, makes me sob every time.

JustanotherTuesday · 10/03/2021 10:38

Meandyouandyouandme
That scene gets me every time.I have to be in the right mood to watch it.
Quiite a few scenes in Bohemian Rhapsody made me cry.

InMySpareTime · 10/03/2021 10:43

In the Book Thief when the boy dies. It's the kind yet matter-of-fact way the narrator says it.
Also Up. Not just the life montage, but when he turns over the "stuff I'm going to do" page in the scrapbook and realised he was living Ellie's dream all along.

ineedaholidayandwine · 10/03/2021 10:53

These:
When Cox loses it (the time with How to save a life in the background), when he realises he’s at the funeral for Jordan’s brother, when Carla is talking to Laverne in the hospital bed, when you realise Carla is the one who’s been crying in the postnatal ward.
When Harry comes out of the maze with Cedric’s body “that’s my boy

Plus the end of Mamma Mia 2 where she can see her mum in the church
Glee - The Quarterback (after Finn/Cory died)
Cinderella when her mum dies then later when her dad dies
Ghost Whisperer - virtually every episode!!!
Harry Potter - a few moments from the 3rd movie onwards

Also, i cry a hell of a lot more and at more things since i had my daughter, anyone else had this? She's 4!

donutosaurus · 10/03/2021 11:08

I cannot control my tears (sobs) during Armageddon when Bruce Willis' character goes down in order to save his daughter's boyfriend and the rest of his team.

Me before you! I just find it so sad that he felt there was no other option even though he had found such a great person!

Also... every season of grey's anatomy but especially season 11 (I think) with Derek 🙈🙈

I also found station 11 really sad when chief Ripley died!

I don't watch many films tbh as since having kids I don't have the patience!

donutosaurus · 10/03/2021 11:10

@ineedaholidayandwine I never used to cry at all! But since having children, I cry all the time!

This thread has made me cry and I'm 6 months PP so out of the horrendous emotional phase!!
