The other thread was deleted just as I was typing this. For the record, I've not been on any side but I believe and don't believe some things based on how I see things.
I've already said in the now deleted thread I believe Kate made Meghan cry and can make anyone cry because she seems the sort to have a sharp word or stare, etc or worse, smile in your face and slag you off behind your back.
I don't believe the Queen is just a sweet little old lady because like the rest of us, she has faults and she seems to enjoy all the bowing and scraping, pomp and all people do for her.
I think it's terrible that Meghan (and Diana) were left to themselves without any formal coaching as to what they need to know, do and learn as new members of the RF even before the wedding so they could choose to carry on or not if it was too much. I blame the RF, Harry (for Meghan) and all the women in the family (who may have left them to wobble like they also did in their time, perhaps?).
I don't think sniggering at the preacher at H&M's wedding was based on racism but more about his style of preaching which does say something about the insularity of those sniggering.
I think Meghan (and Harry) have been wronged in some ways but they're also playing things up in some ways.
My new comment:
To be honest, I question the 'how dark his skin might be' angle. I know people say such things both in a light conversational way and in a nasty/racist way. I can't say I believe how dark his skin would be was questioned as though it was a serious consideration or was even said in that way.
First of all, who in the world would know what his skin would look like until he comes out so anyone asking that in a serious way is really odd.
Secondly, he's the offspring of a white father, a half white and white-passing mother, 3 white grandparents and 1 black grandparent. I mean, I know genes can be funny but the last thing I would think is that he'd come out dark at all. He's more white than he is Black. He's more white than Meghan is. So that's all a weird angle unless they're also following the old racist trope of one Black drop or whatever.
If Phillip made that remark, I can see it being an offhanded nasty remark as usual - not a surprise, hence why they may not wish to reveal it. Leaving the name out could then mean they want it to be seen as a bigger issue than it probably would be if people found out it was him.
I don't see Charles, Williams or Kate saying that but even if they did, I really can't see it being said in a mean way at all. But leaving the name out also makes it seem like a bigger deal.
