I must admit it would make me sick, sick to be at the heart of an institution covering up for someone like Andrew.

And the York girls do still have security, just paid for by Andrew (with money he either got from the Queen, or from the commercial ventures royals supposedly are not allowed) not by the Crown directly.*

Archie is the Queens Great grandchild, hence no security. Likewise, Princess Eugenie and other Grandchildren’s children won’t get security either.

The anti-Meghan conspiracy theorists were openly making death threats against Meghan and Archie, discussing theories about Meghan faking her pregnancy, people online talking about wanting to go up to then-pregnant Meghan and attack her to prove her bump was fake. And that's just the crazy stans.

What about the death threats from actual Neo Nazis and members of white supremacist organisations? Didn't three people actually go to prison over death threats to Meghan?

There were legitimate threats to Archie's security. It's obscene to compare Archie to Zara's kids.

What has come out of this is that Harry did not prepare her for life in the Royal Family. Royal watchers have been speculating for years before Meghan that Harry's children wouldn't be given HRH as part of the 'slim-down'. This should not have come as a shock to her.

If even 1% of what Meghan's saying is true, it means the RF are liars, bullies, racist, and utterly corrupt.

This will undoubtedly do as much if not more damage as Diana's interview.

She really seems to have no idea how the monarchy works and Harry should of surely told her

people will see her in the same way and she will grow in popularity immeasurably and become iconic as a result.

Of course not - nothing like Diana who was a naive 18yr old marrying into RF and then cheated on for years by er H. Her popularity had built up over time. Meghan a grown, divorced, experienced woman, and has a good husband - even if she was a victim, it was brief and she's left in a blink of an eye with now a good life.

The fact they ve left and making huge money in the US separates her fom 'being Diana' even further.
She'll be popular if she is very active in charity work - but she'll never be Diana-style victim and get that level of compassion from people.

Can’t argue with that. I hat I don’t get is why Harry didn’t resign his place in the success and go and marry her in Toronto or LA right at the start.

He knew what the palace was as like. So either he didn’t warn her or he warned her and she didn’t listen.

@KatherineParr Harry is thick as two planks. He should have known about the title, known about the security, known that if he no longer works for the RF, the government will not fund his security.

Anyone think that there are uncanny similarities here between Diana’s experience and Meghans? Diana reportedly tried to throw herself down the stairs when pregnant with William. It feels like M is casting herself in the Diana mould a lot of the time. Is she creating a victim narrative? Is she seeing things from a perspective of expecting certain things to be the case? Who knows.

I think their experience may be similar in terms of marrying into the RF and reporting distress in that role, but in other ways they couldn’t really be more different. Diana was a basically a 19 year old virgin straight out of school with no life experience and the marriage was pretty much arranged. Megan was nearly 40 with previous marriage and her own life and career, and the marriage was very much a choice for her and Harry after a natural relationship formed. Also there is no evidence Harry has been involved with other women since they were together. I think in fact she did know quite a bit about the royals from what she had read or discussed, but I can believe none of that prepares you for the reality!
