Apparently it’s already been broadcast!

I am just astonished she appeared to have had absolutely NO understanding of what being a member of theRF entails.

PurpleCrocuses · 08/03/2021 02:03

zara, beatrice etc are all the queens grandchildren they don't all have paid for security either

BUT THEY DID DURING THEIR ENTIRE CHILDHOODS AND ADOLESCENCES.

And the York girls do still have security, just paid for by Andrew (with money he either got from the Queen, or from the commercial ventures royals supposedly are not allowed) not by the Crown directly.

Ohwhatevu · 08/03/2021 02:03

It must have been incredibly lonely for her. Harry seems like a good husband, from what I've seen written so far.

He won’t be getting a title after this, that’s for sure.

I think it’s clear that she wasn’t supported and remained treated like an outsider. Whereas others are protected
Lampzade · 08/03/2021 02:04

She is a stronger person than me.

My cousin in America says that Americans are absolutely shocked by what they are hearing.
Even those who didn’t like her are beginning to feel sorry for her
This could cause irrevocable damage to the RF
They should have looked after her,

GreenSlide · 08/03/2021 02:05

@SeafrontBingo

This is so reminiscent of Diana, people will see her in the same way and she will grow in popularity immeasurably and become iconic as a result.

It's very brave, what will the consequences be?

Couldn't agree less, I think most people think she's just a massive pain in the arse and have seen and heard more than enough of her for a lifetime.

no... they aren't 🤣

annanicolesmith · 08/03/2021 02:05

This really isn't looking too terrible for the monarchy IMO. Meghan seems to have been misinformed about a few things (the title, where she stood within the firm), Harry was part of the people misinforming her either through stupidity or not wanting to disappoint her, and that nobody was willing to explain it to her. She kicked off and it fitted with an idea they'd preconceived about her.

We'll have a statement tomorrow with explanations re some of the intricacies she's not got right and they'll turn it back on her.

PurpleCrocuses · 08/03/2021 02:05

If even 1% of what Meghan's saying is true, it means the RF are liars, bullies, racist, and utterly corrupt.

This will undoubtedly do as much if not more damage as Diana's interview.

PurpleCrocuses · 08/03/2021 02:05

Harry just about to join, fyi.

Ohwhatevu · 08/03/2021 02:05

What amount of research could she have done to prepare her for that shitshow?

Lampzade · 08/03/2021 02:05

She wasn’t offered a title for Archie

SillyOldMummy · 08/03/2021 02:06

None of this rubbish I care about is far, except the accusations of racism. I didnt want to hear those, but hearing them I'm instinctively sure they are true. For a start, the royal family contains very old people who, in my experience, are more likely to be racist than the younger generations.

It is so deeply upsetting and and hurtful to hear that Harry reported back to megan that someone in the family was worried about how dark Archie would be. They must have been devastated. I want to think, no she must be lying, but only because I don't want it to be true. I wish it wasn't.

Say it louder for those in the back!
donewithitalltodayandxmas · 08/03/2021 02:06

@PurpleCrocuses but if its been changed then its been changed and like i dsid other great grandchildren don't , again Harry must be aware
Harry also gets or certainly did money from the duchy estate so its not like they are unable to pay for it themselves just like andrew does and no doubt the others
It seems like she really wasn't advised on how things work

JustLyra · 08/03/2021 02:07

Harry’s part of this is going to be interesting.

Meghan seems to have been totally unprepared and there are things that he should have told her. The comment about not realising the family curtsied to the Queen in private for example, she should have known from him that they do that.

annanicolesmith · 08/03/2021 02:07

@SillyOldMummy Prince Philip will have been one, and I'm sure someone will have brought up the paternity rumours around Harry and suggested that if Archie came out dark when Meghan is not, they'd be back...

Terrible thing to say, but I'm not surprised.

BlueThistles · 08/03/2021 02:08

Meghan Dad and Sister will be sat thinking...

Told you she was NUTS 🤣

Lampzade · 08/03/2021 02:08

Any poster who claims that racism is not involved now is a liar
Black people have been saying that racism was involved and some people on MN were saying that this was not true.

Blueberries0112 · 08/03/2021 02:09

If Diana, Fergie and Meghan are saying the same thing (not putting the “firm” in a positive light) , don’t you think they are telling the truth

RickiTarr · 08/03/2021 02:09

@PurpleCrocuses

And people with no agenda have no clue who is lying about what or WTF really happened in any of those palaces.

But you are not comparing like for like.

Meghan directly explicitly said Kate reduced her to tears, and that Kate later apologised.

Kate has never come out and said "Meghan made me cry."

The detail about the flowers is key because it's an admission of guilt. It's very unlikely Meghan just invented a fake story about flowers.

Like I said, let's wait and see whether KP issue an official denial the way they did over the Kate hair extensions story, if KP lead a "sources close to Kate say..." the way they did yesterday, or if they ignore it and we just get a wave of "Will and Kate are saddened but are remaining out of it" articles."

No but this is why this is so huge. The royals generally don’t just come out and say things. So Kate (toeing the family line) isn’t going to directly give her side of anything. Meghan is an independent, outspoken woman and she is determined to have her own say.

I still don’t know what the truth is. As far as a fight over bridesmaid outfits I don’t actually care what the truth is so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some of this sounds more important than that, though.

Are you really surprised? You're talking about Prince Philip and his family here.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 08/03/2021 02:09

Anyone think that there are uncanny similarities here between Diana’s experience and Meghans? Diana reportedly tried to throw herself down the stairs when pregnant with William.
It feels like M is casting herself in the Diana mould a lot of the time. Is she creating a victim narrative? Is she seeing things from a perspective of expecting certain things to be the case? Who knows.
