Apparently it’s already been broadcast!

@Roussette

I find the continual denigrating of Harry's intelligence horrible. Not the brightest light in the harbour is admittedly a new one. We have had the lot. Dim. Stupid. A thick ginge. And so on...

Any other place than an M&H tread it would not be allowed. Yet somehow it's fair game to call these two every name under the sun.

And FWIW K&W do their fair share of private jet travel whilst lecturing on too.

Absolutely

“Has anyone noticed how quickly MN is killing ALL threads about the Royals as soon as a certain prince is mentioned? Its like the politburo on steroids. So a forum for discussion is now banning certain subjects. when did this happen?“

Royal family must be thankful for Meghan.

Port1aCastis · 07/03/2021 13:38

I wonder if anyone has actually met Meghan or are they taken in by tabloid journos who also haven't met her

Interested in this thread?

Then you might like threads about this subject:

If Andrew’s PR are trying to deflect attention away from his issues, they are doing a terrible job.
In fact , the the attacks on Harry and Meghan have just focused more attention on Andrew, because people are comparing the two situations
The American press have no started to focus on the idea that Harry and Meghan are the sacrificial lambs.
The irony is that if Andrew has been involved in anything untoward, it WILL come out.

vlnr77yac · 07/03/2021 13:42

@Lampzade Exactly! I've seen 4 disappear this week and one popular one - who's side are you on.. was followed by an MN congratulation to the night team the next morning. The thread wasn't out of control. They are killing Prince Andrew comments. I'm betting this thread doesn't have long to live either !! But we should notice it.

Roussette · 07/03/2021 13:42

The RF must be delighted that Meghan is around. Otherwise a spotlight would be shone on the favourite son Andrew. On the finances. On the fact that we really haven't missed the RF during Covid, we barely noticed they weren't doing anything ... what's different.
On the fact that during 2019(pre covid) 74% of charities with Royal patrons did not get any public engagements with them.

And so on.

Thank goodness for Meghan to take any spotlight away

@MissConductUS

UK racism tends to be coy, sly and forgive me tinkly laugh. It's so much harder to robustly call out an offender in the middle of an open plan office when they say something with a big smile, making "friendly conversation" wording it for maximum deniability. Then you are unreasonable and "aggressive". Then you are the "bully". Not them. As they were just making "friendly conversation".

If racism in the UK is so coy then why is it so common for people on MN to refer to Americans as thick, uneducated, rude, etc.? I don't see people here making similar comments about any other nationality. If they did they would be rebuked by other posters and flagged off. But that doesn't happen if the slagging off is about Americans.

Because slagging off Americans is not racism. Racism has to be coy because it's against the law.
PicsInRed · 07/03/2021 13:49

If racism in the UK is so coy then why is it so common for people on MN to refer to Americans as thick, uneducated, rude, etc

That's not racism, it's bigotry, prejudice, ignorance and parochialism - and there's plenty of that about too, thanks for raising.

vlnr77yac · 07/03/2021 13:50

Royal family must be thankful for Meghan.

You're right because they get to ride the racism against M&H which MOST people don't deny has happened. The unfairness of media coverage is proven by the court case win against that nasty DM.

The RF hate their hypocrisy being exposed that Prince Andrew has never had a royal investigation against him and we all know that's not right!! Meanwhile MN is quietly killing Andrew threads.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/03/2021 13:52

@Shehasadiamondinthesky

I'm sick to death of their bloody whining. They should come and work here in the NHS for a bit. Go look at the suffering of families who have lost everything because of the pandemic the millions who have died and are still dying, the mess that this country and others will be in for decades. Why don't they just take their truth and fuck right off. I dont want to hear it. Utter wankers. Their timing couldn't be worse.
All of the above.

They live lives of wealth and privilege most people couldn't even dream of.

Meghan has worked for hers - he has never known a day's graft in his over-protected life.

They may or may not be nice people - I don't know. But I was delighted when she married him because I thought she was a breath of fresh air - now I think I was well wrong. They both seem very self-absorbed.

I have no time for the royal family - I think it's an outdated institution that has long outlived it's usefulness, and with every successive generation seems to become more and more demanding of privilege and less and less caring of their duty to the country.

Port1aCastis · 07/03/2021 13:53

I suppose libelous posts would get MN sued if left to stand

Roussette · 07/03/2021 13:53

This is interesting... Keir Simmons, an englishman, Senior International Correspondent on NBC in the States.

He posted this at the end of 2018.

"I'm hoping that the British Royal Family, those in 'royal circles' AND journalists truly demonstrate that they can embrace an American woman of colour. They should welcome Meghan's work ethic and her confidence. Otherwise they will do real damage to Britain's image."

Too late.
The damage has been done.

Blueberries0112 · 07/03/2021 13:54

I found out that M&H are not getting paid for this interview.

goodbyelenin · 07/03/2021 13:55

@intheenddoesitreallymatter

Can’t stand the royals, an entitled, conceited, racist bunch of tits.

Meghan Markle, for all that she is, never stood a chance. She was absolutely hounded by the press the same way Diana was. Was it because she was black? Probably. Maybe even because she was American.

Either way, she was dragged across the coals for every little thing Kate would have been heralded for. The woman held onto her bump ffs, she held her husband’s hand.

I don’t blame them for going one bit. The palace can launch an investigation into bullying? Can it also launch an investigation into rampant pedophilia or does that not matter because he was one of their own?

They hated Diana too. They hate anyone who had an ounce of self identity and a lack of conformity. Same as the press, royals should smile and wave, little else.

That is so true!

Kate wasn't treated that well to start with, but Meghan.. was another level.

StapMe · 07/03/2021 13:55

It's inappropriate, undignified, mistimed, probably racist and everything else said before. But hell yeah, I'll be watching. I loved a bit of Diana smut, and I'll love watching this pair dig themselves into a hole too. That's my truth.......Smile

vlnr77yac · 07/03/2021 13:59

What is the difference between racist and non-racist criticism of Meghan?

Look at the comments aimed at her compared to other RF including Kate when she wasn't the royal darling before Megan came along.

No-one ever suggested a royal child be removed from a parent because they were angry with them but Piers Morgan did it in the DM. A big fat column too.

These Prince Andrew allegations prompted a Royal Investigation for but Megan who's been with them for a NY minute is being investigated?? Seriously??!

You don't have to like her to see the racism. If you want to see it of course.

friendlycat · 07/03/2021 14:00

It will just be one long moanathon from the American actress. Two hours worth for goodness sake. Hopefully she will whine so much that it’s all out into the open and then they can both shut up for the foreseeable future. No I very much doubt it. They’ll then moan about the press response to their outpouring and how unbearable it all is whilst at the same time not comprehending that they brought it on themselves.

One winner only out of this and it’s the interviewee not them. I’m not actually sure what their own perceived worth is because they certainly don’t practice what they preach and if their only “value” is moaning about everything and finding fault their fame is going to be very short lived.

VladmirsPoutine · 07/03/2021 14:00

Hopefully this might be the critical mass towards really considering republicanism. I don't think there's much appetite for a King Charles and Queen Camilla tbh.

bubblesforlife · 07/03/2021 14:01

If we think back to how we and the media felt when the wedding came around, where was overwhelming excitement. I was so excited. I watched the entire wedding, I shed a tear. I loved that Meghan was not the typical royal selection. It was so nice.
I was pro Meghan.
She has had a rough ride, for that I empathise with her. No one deserves to be compared to a gorilla, how cruel. But some people do stoop that low and not everyone likes everyone else, some sadly go OTT on social media and the press. Sometimes it’s hard to believe these faces all over the media are real people with feelings. They are sometimes viewed as a commodity to he reviewed. It doesn’t make it right, but that’s a sad truth for every single person in the public eye.
Now, the Royal family are a totally dysfunctional. I too come from a dysfunctional family. It happens.
But they left the U.K. for a quieter lift, at the time I thought it was good, family first always.
But seriously.... in the year they’ve left
A book (let’s face it, they were involved)
Netflix
Spotify
Disney
James Corden
The NY Times
Lawsuit against the tabloid (which is good, they deserved it)
Now Oprah Winfrey, a friend of Meghan, whom has a
Prime seat at their wedding behind the Queen.
Can’t they just look after their family, deal with their gripes like adults and just stop constantly creating headlines, all the time.
Give it a rest guys, live a while, take some time to heal from the RF craziness.
What they are doing is attention seeking. I don’t look so positively on them now. Which is a shame.
I also don’t look favourably on the RF. But the RF are being attacked, so publicly. Is that right either? Who does that help, them? The RF? Their children?

GabsAlot · 07/03/2021 14:01

its harry who will come off worse-hes sgoing to sit there and let his wife slag off his whole family then join in

i mean the press yes fair game but his family?

VladmirsPoutine · 07/03/2021 14:02

whilst at the same time not comprehending that they brought it on themselves.

Yup all that racist commentary about Meghan is something she single-handedly invited upon herself!!

WATSFORTEA · 07/03/2021 14:04

I wont be watching that tripe!!!

Roussette · 07/03/2021 14:04

its harry who will come off worse-hes sgoing to sit there and let his wife slag off his whole family then join in

i mean the press yes fair game but his family?

You know for a fact this is going to happen?

derxa · 07/03/2021 14:04

I like Oprah Winfrey. Are we allowed to say that? Smile

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/03/2021 14:06

No logical discussion allowed only emotive shouty censorship

I know you were speaking of 24/7 news, but the same could be said of on here sometimes. As with the anti-Americanism mentioned, it's "pick a side" and to hell with nuanced discussion

Blatantly racist comments ... get deleted, then people can claim it "never happens" on MN

This is true, though equally some can (and do) create bunfights by slinging indiscriminate accusations, then claim when the thread's zapped that it was "full of racists"

Just a thought, but how about we all do what's asked of us and play the ball not the player?
