Film and TV bits you find unreasonably funny

I was just talking to a friend of mine about films and Runaway Bride came up. She said one bit has her mum in stitches. Its the bit where Julia Roberts jumps on a FedEx truck and someone asks 'where is she going?' and Hector Elizondo says 'i dont know, but wherever it is she will get there by 6pm tomorrow'. For me where she gets stuck on the church bell and Richard Gere says 'sanctuary, sactuary' just gets me and i dont know why!

The 'well we'll call you Lord Rodney' line in OFAH kills DH every time

How about you?

The news crew fight in Anchorman where Luke Wilson loses an arm (does he later get the other one ripped off by a tiger?).
The "sex" scene and throwing up in an alley scene in Team America, gross but I found it hilarious.
Just about every sketch on Chewin the Fat but special mention to the joint-smoking, faux-Gaelic sock puppets.

Themadcatparade · 24/03/2021 13:04

Glens character and pretty much any face he makes in supermarket.

Charlize Theron with her backpack and thinking plastic fruit was real in arrested development.

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 24/03/2021 13:17

Wee Britain on Arrested Development. Especially the 'Merry Poppuns' puppet sliding down a zipwire at random intervals, and 'For British Eyes Only'.

The Poppuns is a joke-within-a-joke-within-a-joke but it cracks me up every time.

WhoWants2Know · 24/03/2021 13:29

Derry Girls when the nun died 🤣. "So, it's killing nuns you're after now, is it?"

And when the dead dog reappeared.

CornishPastyDownUnder · 24/03/2021 13:30

Yeah when they eat "mummy'on peepshow..cried with laughter1st time i saw it..
Joeys face covered in choc cake when he eats his dates dessert saying "and im not even sorry"..
too many bits out of max&paddy/phoenix nights..
Booger saying "i thought i was looking at my mums old douchebag, but thats in Ohio" one of his many golden moments.
Heaps of the DudleyMoore/Goldie Hawn scenes in Foul Play when she's hiding out in his bedroom&he's trying to put the moves on.
Oh and a heaps ChevyChase lines in Fletch&Fletch Lives..

Popsy321 · 24/03/2021 13:44

Car share bloopers, especially Stinky Ray at 6 minutes in.

Popsy321 · 24/03/2021 13:46

At 1.22 minutes in, not 6.

SquatBetty · 24/03/2021 17:40

The bit in Psychoville where Maureen Sowerbutts dresses up like Tina Turner and mimes to Simply the Best.

TheVanguardSix · 24/03/2021 17:45

The part in Wolf of Wall Street where Leonardo DiCaprio's crawling to his Lamborghini just kills me.

EssexLioness · 25/03/2021 22:59

Loved Car Share but the one that really cracks me up is when Peter Kay gets into a row with a cyclist then a remix of him to the song Jump goes viral. Don’t know why but that viral scene has me dying with laughter every time

worried3012 · 25/03/2021 23:12

Got a few :

David Brent's charity dance on The Office

The Office, David's entire appraisal interview with Keith. 'What was the question again?' 🤣

Fresh Prince of Bel Air - whole episode when Ashley gets a record deal and gets rid of her precious manager Will so he founces off to live in some dirt pit. Uncle Phil : 'Will you can't live here forever'. Will : 'I ain't planning on living here forever. Just til I'm dead'.
Same episode when Ashley career is bombing but Will doesn't realise and still thinking about his profit and his 100% of all sales. Uncle Phil : Tell me Will, what's 100% of nothing? Cue Will trying to work out the sum!! Haha I don't know why but that whole episode cracks me up

Fawlty Towers - the whole fire alarm scene Grin

Alexindiamondarmour · 26/03/2021 05:09

Mine is in Friends when Ross is making out with the hot girl from work who has a really dirty apartment, and he puts his hand on her lounge while making out and pulls it back and it’s got some lunch meat stuck to it. So funny, makes me laugh every time.
Oh and also Friends where Joey and Chandler get their armchairs and don’t move for two days. Joey turns to chandler to talk and he’s got a Cheeto stuck to his face. So funny.

@WhatFreshStartIsThis

The wolf fleece moment in the first series of The Apprentice
Oh yes! I had forgotten this but absolutely yes! And when Simon is screwing the legs on that mini trampoline and then starts jumping on it. Sir Alan's deadpan expressions just get me every time.

Also the Apprentice, there is a later episode where they making candles or something and Nick just casually tells them that they've bought sandalwood instead of cedarwood and the bill was thousands of pounds, and the woman's jaw literally drops. Gets me every time.

On the Hot Fuzz DVD there is an extra scene where they dub over all the swearing in the film - most of which is pretty mild anyway. For some reason, Simon Pegg shouting "peas and rice!" Instead of "Jesus Christ" is hysterical, and is now my go-to exclamation.

On a similar vein, the PG version of snakes on a plane where the word "motherf*cking" was removed. So Samuel L Jackson is apparently sick of these "monkey fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane."

funtimefrank · 26/03/2021 07:38

A couple of bits from dinnerladies 'can you smell my Charlie' and 'have you seen my Clint' Most Victoria Wood tbf.

A bit from the Melissa McCarthy film Spy when Alison Janney says deadpan that it's inappropriate to use the word thundercunt in an official report. Also when she wakes up in bed with Jason Statham.

The whole Chandler/Phoebe scene when she's trying to seduce him, especiallywhen Joey says Chandler is scared of bras and pops her top open

Fraiser in the ski lodge

Liverbird77 · 26/03/2021 07:55

It's a reality show, but the "David's dead" bit on Celebrity Big Brother makes me hysterical.

CaffeineAndCrochet · 26/03/2021 11:01

I go back and watch that sometimes! 'No, half of four hundred and fif --- f*ck'

AudTheDeepMinded · 26/03/2021 11:23

Any scene with Olivia Colman in it in Green Wing, especially forgetting to put her skirt on, bringing a folder of kid's artwork instead of a work contract and when she's lost one of the kids and has a massive chart of where all of her kids should be and is trying to work out where they are. Brilliant.

worried3012 · 26/03/2021 14:39

This was hilarious!! I would definitely include this for me too. It was just so funny.

Oh my God @toolatetofixate I'm almost crying just looking at that still image! One of the funniest things I've ever seen 😂
scentedgeranium · 26/03/2021 21:08

Lovely girls in Father Ted
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse! Ditto. (Replayed by family members whenever we see a nun. Childish but sooo funny)

scentedgeranium · 26/03/2021 21:10

Years ago a very early Eddie Izzard when he's riffing on ridiculous French lessons.. 'mais oui le singe est sur l'arbre'

emerald1981 · 26/03/2021 21:42

Step Brothers "Boats and Hoes" music video. Get's me every time

emerald1981 · 26/03/2021 21:45

Also Karen and Jack from Will and Grace steal every scene for me. Always make me crack up!

Sparklingbrook · 26/03/2021 21:48

I feel a bit basic but a couple of episodes of the Inbetweeners make me howl. Blush
The fashion show with the escapee testicle and when Will attempts to lose his virginity with Charlotte. Grin

Also Rik Mayall in Bottom, he was a comedy genius.

GoofyIsACow · 26/03/2021 21:48

OFAH ‘Who’s Rachel?’ 😂
