Film and TV bits you find unreasonably funny

I was just talking to a friend of mine about films and Runaway Bride came up. She said one bit has her mum in stitches. Its the bit where Julia Roberts jumps on a FedEx truck and someone asks 'where is she going?' and Hector Elizondo says 'i dont know, but wherever it is she will get there by 6pm tomorrow'. For me where she gets stuck on the church bell and Richard Gere says 'sanctuary, sactuary' just gets me and i dont know why!

The 'well we'll call you Lord Rodney' line in OFAH kills DH every time

How about you?

When Moss tries to call the fire brigade in The IT Crowd.

When Roy thinks he’s having a heart attack when his phone goes off at the boss’s funeral.

Anything Matt Berry ever says or does either in The IT Crowd or series 1 of What We Do In The Shadows.

LunaHeather · 05/03/2021 22:52

Oh and the bit in Trainspotting 2 where Spud is late for everything in one day, and finally someone says "did you forget the clocks change?"

And he says "...I don't know the fucking clocks change...i've been doing skag for twenty years".

Gwenhwyfar · 05/03/2021 22:55

@ShipshapeShore

Oh I forgot the Friends episode in Vegas. The scene where Ross and Rachel are drunk in their room makes me howl. That must be our alcohol and beers! Grin
I nearly fell off the treadmill re-watching the one where Ross lectures in silly accents.
Graphista · 05/03/2021 22:58

I'm not usually a fan of slapstick but chandler falling through the sawn through door cracks me up, actually pretty much everything Chandler says/does cracks me up

Friends outtakes do me in but in particular jen Anniston trying not to corpse "and zen..."

Nothing funnier than someone TRYING not to laugh!

Also the escargot scene in pretty woman

OFAH the chandelier

The scene in "life as we know it" when the baby starts walking for the first time and Katherine heigl is like "stop her" and josh duhamel is like "how?!" And ends up pushing the baby over to stop it walking

Probably cheating as it's standup, but Michael McIntyre's dentist bit "pants down you're the loser!" Excellent buildup! Also the kids hanging their heads out the car and scalded balls when getting in an accidentally too hot bath!

Livpool · 05/03/2021 23:04

@ImWorriedAboutThis the gasps Uncle
Albert does are hilarious in OFAH

For me it is the Royle Family - The Golden Eggcup- "there's been a murrderrrrrr".
And the same episode when they are playing a quiz Dave made up and he doesn't know the answer to his Shawshank Redemption question

OneMoreWish · 05/03/2021 23:04

Friends - PIVOT!

Mrstumbletap · 05/03/2021 23:07

@Tomcullenisahero that scene is the funniest scene I think I have ever scene in a film.

I get tears and can't breath and I have now mastered it so I can sound like him! So I do it to make my husband laugh.

"My tiny nipples went to France" 😂🤣

WomenAreBornNotWorn · 05/03/2021 23:08

That Runaway Bride scene is brilliant op, I laugh every time.

I like the scene in Bridesmaids when they are trying to get the cops attention.

The Tammy trailer with Melissa McCarthy. " We're gonna need more pies!" With Gangstas Paradise in the background.

Mrstumbletap · 05/03/2021 23:09

Also friends bloopers are hilarious

The Vegas scene in friends with Ross and Rachel where Ross falls down then asks Rachel if she is alright?

StrawberryFizz26 · 05/03/2021 23:13

The stress relief episode of the American Office when Dwight fakes a fire. So so so funny.

Yes to the peep show episode with the dog, it's just really hairy turkey 🤣

Crimeismymiddlename · 05/03/2021 23:14

The caravan bit in Father Ted, Victor Meldrew finding a dead cat in his freezer and the bit in Detroiters were Crissy is telling them that she can’t talk crap about her co-workers as her line mate is sensitive and that she could not even laugh when a co worker farted so hard they slipped a disc and is now on the sick-this one makes me DIE.

TH22 · 05/03/2021 23:15

Oonagi!

angelcakebananabrain · 05/03/2021 23:16

I love bloopers. I can sit and happily watch an hour’s worth of bloopers for a show I’ve never even seen.

SingToTheSky · 05/03/2021 23:16

@Tomcullenisahero

The part in Bruce Almighty where Bruce makes Evan speak in a squeaky voice and talk nonsense while presenting the news. Tears run down my face every time, my family think I'm nuts. I watch it on YouTube when I need cheering up
This! I could barely breathe in the cinema 😆
Crimeismymiddlename · 05/03/2021 23:16

Larry David killing a swan and the soup natzi in Seinfeld.

Tomcullenisahero · 05/03/2021 23:17

@Mrstumbletap "I lika do da cha cha".
Just rewatched it, still so funny 😂😂

I found the throwing up bit in Team America ridiculously funny. Even though normally can’t stand anything to do with puke. It was the way it just kept going.

Also a bit in family guy where Peter tries to get a dead frog out of the window.

ichundich · 05/03/2021 23:21

Peep Show - Jeremy eating the runover dog of his girlfriend; Outnumbered - dad doing the dinosaur impression
The Secret Life of Pets - "We're going in the car!"

SingToTheSky · 05/03/2021 23:23

Also the bit in peppa pig where Suzie can whistle and peppa hangs up the phone 😳

Pet8 · 05/03/2021 23:23

The Royle Family - in a holiday caravan watching the next catavan's tv through the window and all singing the one show theme. It's rare I catch the intro to the one show but when I do, I start singing "one..."

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 05/03/2021 23:24

@SingToTheSky

Also the bit in peppa pig where Suzie can whistle and peppa hangs up the phone 😳
Oh God YES
SingToTheSky · 05/03/2021 23:27

Miranda, where she and her mum are having a psychological assessment (“ACT NORMAL!”) and the doctor is silent the whole time. Until he suddenly says “SO” and they jump out of their skin. I found it even funnier when showing it to my DC the first time as they jumped too and were in absolute hysterics over it

Radio4Rocks · 06/03/2021 10:29

Father Ted and the priests in the lingerie department.

Blazing Saddles - farting round the campfire.

Monty Python LoB - stoning scene with women wearing false beards and the "Jehovah" dance.

Fawlty Towers - Mr O'Reily and Sybil's scene - "I like a woman with spirit".

Julie Walters as a waitress with the soup.

JovialNickname · 06/03/2021 21:43

"We haven't got a carphone" OFAH
