Tom Hollander is a talented actor but I think he’s a bit niche as a crush - that phot is quite flattering.

Kit Harrington is somewhere between 5’6” and 5’8”, probably the former. He definitely counts as a shorter crush.

He would shoehorn how tall he was into conversations where it wasn't needed and then get shirty because no one looked all that impressed. I think he'd had too many older relatives say "Gosh, you're very tall, aren't you Simon?"

I find men who act like their height is some sort of achievement deeply annoying. Even my lovely DH ticks me off when he acts a bit smug about being able to reach things out of the top cupboards (I'm a shortarse).

Rishi may be short, but he has one of the most powerful jobs in the country, which is a wee bit more of an achievement than inheriting unnecessary length of limb.

Yes, I think they see their height as a slam dunk in terms of attracting women, with no effort needed.

Wonderful But what is the difference? Would you mock someone for their ethnicity, another physical aspect that they cannot choose?

Not that I'm advocating mocking (unless gentle) but one's illegal, the other isn't.

In the real world, people get mocked for their physical appearances all the time. Especially women. Its unlikely to ever be eradicated so its something we tend to learn to live with. People do get very worked up though when a man's appearance is discussed.

Through work I know two men who are 5ft5 or below. Both self made multi millionaires and absolutely lovely.

Those of you saying how horrified we would be if men say they wouldn't date a woman over a size 14....men say this ALL the time! And there ALWAYS threads on here denigrating overweight women.

As a very tall woman, my height has been a reason for me to be rejected plenty of times!

Yes, quite. This assumption that a man is six foot until photo evidence proves otherwise is weird

AND my son is very very tall and can't walk into a room without people passing, often very rude, comments. He also reckons it turns women off....too tall.

Prefer a taller chap myself, but that’s just personal preference, in the way I like a hairy chest and not too skinny. (I am of course, perfect!)
DD’s new bf is an enormous 6 foot 7!

He’s fairly new on the scene and I don’t know him very well yet. He came with DD to help clear my mother’s house recently and effortlessly removed some very high up pictures. I said, “ I guess being tall comes in handy for some things” and he replied, “ It does for high stuff” and then added wistfully “ I’m rubbish at hide and seek though”

I don’t assume all men are 6ft, I don’t think people thinking Sunak was tall is because they think all men are tall! I thought he was taller - as others have said, probably because he’s slim, maybe his dress sense, and for me his face made him seem tall somehow.

But sometimes I think someone looks short and it turns out they’re not. Harry styles for example, I would have said he was shorter than average, but he is 6 ft.

I've seen the Treasury line up photo and it's poor. I understand why Bozo has employed, at our expense presumably, unless anyone knows of a charitable fund paying his wages, his own personal photographer to document his reign at No 10. Rishi deserves better presentation.
