I’m just going to put it out there, kangaroos scare the crap out of me

I’ve just watched a video of a kangaroo banging aggressively on some glass.

It’s scary as hell. Then I made the mistake of googling kangaroos attack.

It’s a slow work day.

Just me? Or is there a benignly normal animal that scares the bejesus out of you.

I'll just leave this here for all you kangaroo haters to feel vindicated.

And this is for you @FancyPuffin

My friend got silently stalked by a herd of cows taking the dog for a walk she had no bloody idea there was one then suddenly about 30.

@StarsonaString I feel that needed a trigger warning.

Ok lets not kangaroo bash.

Just watched the video. I think it's hilarious, they are such unusual creatures to me, half standing and bouncing.

Admittedly I would not approach one.

FossilisedFanny · 24/02/2021 22:12

I don’t like dolphins either or elephants or whales.

StarsonaString · 24/02/2021 22:14

I nearly got eaten/mauled/clawed by a load of cows during one of my summer lockdown walks. Bloody DP managed to escape and thought I was following but when he turned around I was surrounded! Narrowly escaped having to jump in the river but on the plus side he felt very guilty for abandoning me to my bovine fate.

userxx · 24/02/2021 22:16

Kangaroos are handy fuckers. No way I'd cause any drama with one.

StarsonaString · 24/02/2021 22:16

This one definitely needs a trigger warning for you kangaphobes.

Kangaroos are so muscly, it’s freaky! I definitely wouldn’t want to fight one.

Wellthisisallfuckingmarvellous · 24/02/2021 22:20

This is the most concerning comment about a dolphin I’ve read. Taken from the dolphins thread.

Marine Biology graduate here and whilst you maybe are getting a bit emotional you are correct.

Dolphins are not cute cuddly super fun animals and they do have a dark side like anyone else. Male adult lions also kill cubs which aren't theirs to make the mother come back into season.

They are well documented for killing porpoises and the rape aspect has been reported which is why I wouldn't swim with them as I've heard the reason they interact so well with people as our skeletons are very similar to theirs which worries me along with the obvious ethical aspect.

@Aintnothingbutaheartache great quote.

PS - if anyone wants to be seriously pissed off, look up about Sea Otters!!

Adding dolphins to my list along with Kangaroos, my ex-husband and armadillos and pangolians they make me have a funny feeling in my mouth.

I’ve just googled muscley kangaroos- it’s horrific

midsomermurderess · 24/02/2021 22:22

They don't scare me, but I think dolphins are creepy huggers, with their creepy Joker grins. I don't want to swim with them, heck no.

Wolfiefan · 24/02/2021 22:26

Kangaroos are scary!
But I watched something about a Durban snake catcher the other day. Black Mambas are the most terrifying things EVER!

mnahmnah · 24/02/2021 22:29

You’ve just reminded me that in my dream last night a neighbour was walking their pet kangaroo down our street. I was amazed they had a pet kangaroo. But also how huge and strong it was. That’s all Grin

SnarkyBag · 24/02/2021 22:32

Having met a pissed off kangaroo whilst bush camping I can confirm that a kangaroo squaring up to you is pretty bloody terrifying!

Didn’t really care for the emu’s either and spent entire road trip across the nullabar freaking out about rogue camels running out in front of the van.

TomDickAndHarrods · 24/02/2021 22:54

Awful animals.

I can’t think why anyone thinks they are cute.

And I read Cloudstreet. Brilliant novel but one of the characters gets loads of Kangaroo ticks.

I can now only think of them with horror.

Cocopogo · 24/02/2021 22:56

How can you be clawed by cows? They don’t have claws!

Cocopogo · 24/02/2021 22:57

Brilliant. More nightmares about being stuck in the house for me tonight.

TomDickAndHarrods · 24/02/2021 23:05

@Cocopogo

They claw you by telepathy.
TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 24/02/2021 23:12

Bats

I’m just going to put it out there, kangaroos scare the crap out of me
StarsonaString · 24/02/2021 23:26

Yes the cows were going to claw me psychically before eating my soul. I could see the intention in thier menacing eyes.

iklboo · 24/02/2021 23:28

Chimps & mandrills are scary as all fuck. Known killers, meat eaters & use tools. Also hunt in packs. Terrifying. Chimps attack to maim & disable - eyes, face, hands.

iklboo · 24/02/2021 23:30

I adore bats. I'd happily spend all day in the bat enclosure at Chester Zoo. Incredibly peaceful & relaxing. I love getting 'buzzed' on a fly past.

HoldontoOneMoreDay · 24/02/2021 23:32

YY, bats are brilliant. Because they do not bounce.
