Your favourite TV series that no one else you know has seen

Currently unable to sleep so thought I would ask others!

I feel like I’ve seen everything that’s regularly recommended but I have a few TV shows I love that rarely ever come up in discussions. I figured I would share mine and maybe others could share theirs and we can all find something new to us!

The main ones that come to mind for me are:
Silicon Valley
Barry
Carnivale
Party Dowb

Almost all HBO so harder to get hold of but all absolutely brilliant and worth seeking out.

Also 30 Rock and The Shield - these come up more often but still not widely seen in the UK

What are yours?

Glitch! On Netflix! Watched it by chance! Was engrossed
Yes, also watched it recently, it was very good, I found it because I saw it vaguely mentioned on a thread on here
JustSaying101 · 25/02/2021 19:33

Fab thread OP! Did anyone ever watch Fortitude? Was on Sky Atlantic and based in Norway I think. Had a brilliant cast and was pretty gory! Didn't seem to come across anyone else that had seen it at the time.

Buggersticks · 25/02/2021 19:33

Schitt's Creek on Netflix. 6 seasons of fabulousness. Very funny and brilliantly written, cast, acted, everything. Superb xx

Friday Night Lights The Man in the High Castle

No one I know seems to have seen either of these. Friday Night Lights is particularly brilliant.

Luuuurrrrvvvved The Man in the High Castle. Had to give it 2 goes before I became hooked.
Sassy306 · 25/02/2021 19:38

Unforgettable, it's great and stars Dylan Walsh who was also in the best series I ever watched "Nip Tuck". Never met anyone else who has seen that

MrsColinRobinson · 25/02/2021 19:48

Yes @groundcontroltomontydon I thought I was the only viewer. Told a colleague to watch and I think they thought I'd recommended porn.

Google said a third series is planned but no date given yet.

Mrsjayy · 25/02/2021 19:49

Survivors the Brit 90s BBC one. Fantastic and more relevant than ever
Constantine- The TV show. One got 1 series but was bloody amazing
Harpers island. An American Who dunnit, think Agatha Christie meets scream. Quite bloodthirsty, but I like that !
Pennyworth. On Prime. Origin story of Alfred Pennyworth( Bruce Waynes butler) when hes a young man in an alternate reality 1960s London. The Queen is a strumpet, Alfred is Michael Caine and theres airships and gibbets in the high street!
Castle Rock. Again on Prime. All set in the Stephen King multiverse.

Chickychickydodah · 25/02/2021 19:51

@KnockoffPrimark. I have had the comeback on my prime watchlist for ever, it looks fab. It is never free though.

TheCanyon · 25/02/2021 20:00

The First 48. A reality series, blows my mind that no one else has heard of it.

mel71 · 25/02/2021 20:06

Shtisel - absolutely love it

cmg1958 · 25/02/2021 20:07

The Shield on Amazon Prime. I've never been so riveted to anything before. Brilliant acting, fast paced, uncompromising - a morality tale for our age - law enforcement, corruption, politics and family.

cordelia16 · 25/02/2021 20:12

@stilllovegeorge

Definitely Better Things with Pamela Adlon. No one I know watches it but its a brilliant portrayal of the madness of family life with coping with ageing/menopause on top.
That's a fantastic show!
pepsirolla · 25/02/2021 20:13

@NiceGerbil

Erm I have some but they are going back a bit!

The Ritz - 80s, about a night club

Lexx - very odd sci fi late night when I was pissed and young

If anyone remembers those as well I'll be over the moon!

Absolutely loved Lexx. I worshipped his shadow...Grin Well Kai anyway. Not so good when original Zev left. Never met anyone other than Dh who has seen it. We also loved Northern Exposure but no one else seems to have watched it

Nip Tuck was amazing, I've got it all on dvd! Shock

Not sure if anyone has mentioned Boomtown, it was on Channel 5 in the early-mid 00's? It starred Donnie Wahlberg, brilliant show but only ran for one season Sad

Purplealienpuke · 25/02/2021 20:14

Being Human
Ideal
Nighty Night
Harrow
Lucifer
Preacher
Justified
Mum
Better Things

Im sure there's more but I'm tired today 😴

cordelia16 · 25/02/2021 20:17

@Crankley

Just looking on Prime, I'm shocked that you now have to pay per episode to watch things like The Good Wife, The Mentalist and Lie to me. It's a complete rip off.
I've been desperate to rewatch Chuck (one of my faves), but I refuse to pay to watch it! And I can't figure out why some shows are included in the membership but others aren't.

We love The Mentalist, and we now have every episode saved down on our Sky hub.
