What are the most memorable, unique, or lovely dog names you've come across that you will never forget?

I met a dog called Beetlejuice today, thought it was brilliant! I also used to know a dog called midnight, never met another one but always loved the name.

Love the Gelert story too.
We have a Spaniel call Beau - cos e's beautiful.

My son's dog is Roverandom, named for his favorite childhood story by JRR Tolkien. Of course we call him Rover, though. I visit a friend on weekends while she takes her dog to our local dog park, and visit with border collie mixes, Frank and Sid, too. She, however, is on her fourth in a long line of Rottweilers-Dasher, Dancer, Prancer have passed on and she currently has a lovely Vixen.

I was in hospital once and a lovely nursing assistant called Elsie was telling me about how she had dogs called Fred and Mary. The woman in the next bed said "I hope you've had them neutered, Elsie" and she said "No, not yet. Fred tells me when Mary's in season, then I take Fred to stay with my sister for a while!".

I heard a guy in the park yes call his puppy Sandra. Made me laugh

There's a random beagle up the road from us called Jesus.

There is a rescue near me who have a theme. One year, it was Strictly and they had a Brendan Cole, an Ola Jordan, a Iuan Thomas etc

A Cockapoo called Tetley. I just thought it was so lovely 😍😍

I've just remembered Pedro the chihuahua.

Not mine, but someone on the Wire Haired Fox Terrier fb page called her boy Brillo, which if you know the breed is perfect.
We call our dog lots of pet names, I was out the other day and said “come on sausage.” A little girl stops open mouthed and says “Is your dog really called Sausage? That’s AMAZING,”

Our pets always had human names growing up.

We had dogs called Dave, Bill and Glen. The cat was called Samantha.

A white lab called Custard. He totally lived up to his name, he was such a character. Life and soul of the party, but healthy wise he was a wobbly mess.

I came across a Gary today and I've met a Shirley.

My colleague has Springer spaniel called Jerry. If I ever got a male cocker spaniel, I'd name him Jarvis.

I have a patient who is a West Highland White Terrier and his name is Kanye.

In 15 years of being a vet I think it's my all-time favourite.

Pre-COVID I got chatting to a man with a sausage dog called Richmond

a copper i know calls their dog Sarge.
