What are the most memorable, unique, or lovely dog names you've come across that you will never forget?

I met a dog called Beetlejuice today, thought it was brilliant! I also used to know a dog called midnight, never met another one but always loved the name.

My colleagues dog is called Jeff. I think that’s brilliant.

Also know a Frank, a Dave and a Graham. I love those.

Oh Clive is a fantastic name for a dog!

I always wanted a standard poodle and I would name her Barbara

This is outing, but we have a Dudley and an Alice. We get lots of comments on their names.
Especially as our children have less ‘traditional sounding human names’ 😆

My dad was a farm worker and had a Fly @BrandyTrap. Working collies tend to have short names. Dad had a Nan, Jan, Bob, Jim, Mirk, Rock, Patch and Stamp. Stamp was his first and favourite. He lived to be very old and dad cried when he had to put to sleep.

@ soup maker, yes these were working dogs too. I like all the names your dad's dogs had, and I'm sorry about Stamp. I bet he had a lovely life.

I was listening to a radio article the other day about urban walks. Can't remember the owner's name, but the whippet was Mr. Whippy!

My parents had a big black German Shepherd called Rebus, always thought it was a brilliant name.
DS has told me that our next dog simply must be called Gaston

A Yorkie called Batman!

We had a dog called John when I was growing up. Absolutely no idea what my parents were thinking when they named him.

I often come across a collie called Lydia in our local park, walked by a lovely old man
I’m not sure why, but it makes me slightly hysterical. Lydia is just the best/worst name for a dog

noblegreenk · 21/02/2021 19:59

I knew a fluffy little pomeranian called Gary.

Not to blow my own horn but my pug is called Snacks. I’ve also known a pug called Dave which strangely suited him, and a chihuahua called Hulk.

IndigoJewel · 21/02/2021 20:00

Ooh interesting, I almost called DD Lydia, love that name! Would never have considered it for a dog though

I once met a dog in the park called Simon.

I’m after a pup at the moment and if I get a dog I’m going to call him Amos.

IndigoJewel · 21/02/2021 20:00

Snacks is brilliant
