What are the most memorable, unique, or lovely dog names you've come across that you will never forget?

I met a dog called Beetlejuice today, thought it was brilliant! I also used to know a dog called midnight, never met another one but always loved the name.

We had a black pug called Ozzy and 2 yorkie brothers called Barty and Bertie!

A British bulldog called Gilbert. He just soooo owned that name! He used to wander up and down the street, was everybody’s friend and could hear a crisp packet rustling a mile away!

My favourite literary dogs name is Bert Baxter’s dog Sabre from Adrian Mole, the descriptions of the dog are hilarious. Also the fact that Adrians own dog is just called “the dog”.

CoffeeRunner · 21/02/2021 20:51

Butch, a miniature Yorkshire terrier puppy on his first walk out, complete with pink lead and diamante collar. His owners were two HUGE muscly gay men.

furrycat1978 · 21/02/2021 20:52

MartiniDry · 21/02/2021 20:52

Not mine, but Athos and Aramis were two beautiful white large breed dogs.
I've also known a Whyme (why me!), a Christopher, a Margarine, and a Aloysius, who may as well have not had a name at all, so hopeless was he at responding to it!

Loopyloututu · 21/02/2021 20:53

The story of Gelert is my favourite dog-story though. Top name for a dog.

LemonTT · 21/02/2021 20:53

Pieceofpurplesky · 21/02/2021 20:55

When I was young next door had Christopher and Henry both of whom where very large (not sure what breed but pale coloured with long legs). Mum would often return home to find Christopher fast asleep on her bed with the cat as he could open the door (which was never locked)

ItsTheDramaMickILoveIt · 21/02/2021 20:55
