What are the most memorable, unique, or lovely dog names you've come across that you will never forget?

I met a dog called Beetlejuice today, thought it was brilliant! I also used to know a dog called midnight, never met another one but always loved the name.

My uncle had a GSD called Pierre. Separately he had a tiny teacup Yorkie called James.

We had a Jack Russell cross when I was a child. She had a perfectly ordinary name but my dad would give her random nicknames from time to time and she would answer to any of them. She like to hide under a blanket and she would answer to Marion Mobile Mound. When her fluffy ears needed trimming she was "Miss Tatty Old Bit - the sailor's friend". She would answer to Marion/Tatty/Old Bit or if someone called "Where's the sailor's friend?"

Makes our dogs (Rev Buford van Stomm and Tipyn Bach Schmoool) sound very normal.

I have a friend whose dog is named Brown Dog.
I don’t know who gave him such an original name but it stuck and my friend didn’t change it when he got the dog.

Rinstead - after the mouth ulcer pastilles. Same family had dogs named Kaolin (as in Kaolin and Morphine) and Bismuth (as in Chloridine and Bismuth). Now I think of it, all of the animals had names related to various medications (OTC and prescription) which I find memorable (obviously) or unique rather than lovely.

Twospaniels · 21/02/2021 21:23

When we got our dog when DS was young he wanted to call it “Cat”.
