What are the most memorable, unique, or lovely dog names you've come across that you will never forget?

I met a dog called Beetlejuice today, thought it was brilliant! I also used to know a dog called midnight, never met another one but always loved the name.

A former boss had a dog called PhiDo when he was a PhD student and studying abroad. At least that’s what he told his parents for two years - except PhiDo was imaginary

Wingnut, referring to the ears 😁

I have a Basil and Edie, Basil was called Rolo, when we got him as a pup, Edie was Eevee, we know too many little girls called Evie but didn't want to change it too much and confuse her as she was nearly two when we git her so thought this was similar - She's Edith if she's not listening!

Buffy & Spike. A few years back now, when that programme was current.

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 22/02/2021 18:36

Our dog is called Frank

Thelikelylass · 22/02/2021 18:38

A wee dog called Paulie. Paulie Walnuts (like the Sopranos fella)!

ErrolTheDragon · 22/02/2021 18:39

My current dachshund was already named when we got him. He appears to be unique for the breed in having a name which is too bland to bear repetition here. Grin

Fuckitsstillraining · 22/02/2021 18:41

I know a doberman called Wicked, she not at all wicked but a pure pet. Same owner also has two cutest mix breed that look like a collie/cav mix called Hugo and Boss.

Phillipa12 · 22/02/2021 18:43

I've known a Beeswax, Badger, Biscuit, Bannister, Treacle, Thorn, Moss, Frank, Arthur, Aneurin (Nye for short and yes he was a Welsh Terrier), Mini (leonburger), Edwin, Fergus and Seamus.

Ok so my dogs are... Gin, Tonic, Bombay, Hendricks, Gordon and....Dave. Dave doesn’t really fit the theme but he really suits his name! 🤣

Fairfatandforty · 22/02/2021 18:49

I adopted a 10 year old blue Staffy with an unimaginative name (Blue!) I thought as an elder gent he deserved some respect so changed it to Mr Johnson. Only some months later did someone tells me that's what Americans call a penis. Sigh......

JackiesCrimbleCrumble · 22/02/2021 18:49

We have a dog called peach or stupid white dog if she's being silly

CableknitSweaters · 22/02/2021 18:50

We’re getting a pup next year once we’ve finished doing the house up and made the garden secure. She’s going to be called Juniper.

I decided this name when I was 5. 30 years later I still love it and still want a German Shepherd called Juniper.

AnaisNun · 22/02/2021 18:50

We have a Montgomery. I wanted to call him Pete, but exDP wasn’t having it.

supperlover · 22/02/2021 18:50

FUBAR- A medical acronym for f---ed up beyond all recognition. A friend's dog was named this by his doctor brother.
