Welcome, @nancyclancy123, and thanks for sharing your dental care news. Dental treatment was quite the topic on the last thread in the series, which is fine as it is usually quite mundane and boring.

What do you need to have done going forward?

Financial pots growing new ones next month, floor going down on Friday, feeling so much happier. The days are getting longer. Start birthday buying and saving next month for fil, Christmas fund a massive boost next month, thrilled at long last things are coming together.

Champagneforeveryone · 17/02/2021 21:01

Thank you missconduct, it's always nice when my saintliness is recognised Halo

In the interests of fair disclosure, DH was extremely ill as a baby and ended up having a kidney removed when he was a year old. As a result his mother mollycoddled him terribly. This has led to a lifetime expecting the rest of the world to be beside themselves when illness strikes. You'd think he would have realised by now that it doesn't work for DS and I, but he remains ever hopeful we will be found hovering anxiously at his bedside with a dampened sponge and a glass of lucozade.

Bravo on the hose spudlet, a worthy contribution to this thread Grin

DoctorTwo · 17/02/2021 21:22

I have an appointment for a CT scan next month which will decide whether I get sliced open or not. Fretting slightly.

Sunbird24 · 17/02/2021 21:35

I had two calls from a withheld number this afternoon, at 1533 and 1535. I didn’t answer. They didn’t leave a voicemail. Can’t have been terribly important!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 17/02/2021 21:54

I am watching a young Chinese lady cooking lovely stuff on a YouTube channel mentioned on a MN thread. Very relaxing!

soddingkitten · 17/02/2021 22:36

I turned down the heating earlier and some of the individual radiator thermostats. DS then complained it was too cold. The weather is milder now, but I also suspect the menopause. My internal thermostat is increasingly out of kilter with the rest of my family.

Nydj · 17/02/2021 22:53

@Prokupatuscrakedatus are the videos with a young woman cooking in a rural setting with her grandmother using very traditional methods? I can’t remember the names but if it’s the same one then I agree, they are immensely relaxing

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 17/02/2021 22:54

I've emailed an old friend and filled out about half of a long form this evening. Before that DH and I folded up some washing.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 17/02/2021 22:58

Nydj
It is Liziqi who cooks, gardens and does amazing crafts.

The other similar channel I like is Diaxi Xiaoge who has an amazing dog called Dawang

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 17/02/2021 22:58

Dianxi Xiaoge

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 17/02/2021 23:01

@Nydj
Yes that's her. All the captions are in Chinese, so I have no idea what she is doing.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/02/2021 06:37

Good morning,
now the snow has gone Morose Pidgeon is back.

And I'll check out the other channel!

Sunbird24 · 18/02/2021 08:38

I have hay fever again, so I’ve decided to wfh this morning instead of going into the office all snotty and sneezing. I haven’t opened the curtains yet but the rain sounded really heavy so I’m glad I have saved myself the walk!

Spudlet · 18/02/2021 09:06

Hosepipe update: I shall be collecting the hose and attachments later. DS and I have big, big plans for washing down all the bikes.

Frankly, I’m not sure I can stand the excitement.

lightand · 18/02/2021 09:09

I am doing.....paperwork

Squirrel26 · 18/02/2021 10:11

I use my hose for hosing down the dog. He’s generally not very impressed by this, but he was even less impressed the one time I relented and put him in the bath.

HelenaJustina · 18/02/2021 10:56

We have NT tickets (to a property only 12-15 minutes away) at 12, it’s the first time we’ve been to one since Christmas. I have packed some rolls and crisps as nothing is open/available other than a different venue for a walk - in the rain. I think this may be too exciting for this thread.

Spudlet · 18/02/2021 11:54

The hosepipe is in the building, I repeat, the hosepipe is in the building!

@Squirrel26 I did used to have a hose (I don’t know where it went) and used it to hose the hound. He used to scream like he was being boiled and run and hide under a bush as soon as he got loose. He is also a dog that will swim in water with ice around the edges and I wasn’t jetwashing him or anything, but he really wasn’t stoic about the process. I have put him in the bath many times as well but he is not allowed in this house (it makes too much of a mess) so now he has the watering can and thinks himself lucky. He shivers like he’s in an RSPCA advert Confused

My DH always says "they will write to us if it is important".
damibasiamille · 18/02/2021 12:05

I had an old cotton towel full of holes, so I cut it up and hemmed the edges, and now I have 6 nice little mopping-up cloths for the kitchen.

Need a brew now to calm me down.

Rainbowaftertherain · 18/02/2021 13:34

I used some yellow dye on a white drawstring bag that was a big stained, and soem tired looking white towels. Came out nice :)

BasiliskStare · 18/02/2021 13:39

I had my knives sharpened yesterday - I can cut an onion now without having to practically sit on the knife - Lovely man came round in a van & did ours and neighbours knives Ha ha - it has made me happy ( I know that won't sound great

MissConductUS · 18/02/2021 13:54

Welcome, @ChazsBrilliantAttitude, @lightand, and @damibasiamille, and thanks for sharing your various and sundry mundane news. It's lovely to see three new arrivals in such a short space of time.

I'm working from home, as is DH, in anticipation of the 433rd snow event of this winter. It's snowing in NYC but dawdling its way north, so it's late in arriving. The city may get more than we do.

DS continues his remote internship, so it's the three of us and the cats holding up for the storm.

My torn ligament is finally starting to improve from resting it for the last few weeks, but I'm still going to the ortho next Tuesday for the cortisone injection. I'll probably also discuss the repair surgery he's offered previously but I declined as it would have me on crutches for two months. That might be tolerable if I can still drive.

Not me spudlet Grin

We recently bought one of these bad boys. Both DH and I were genuinely excited when it turned up, in a way that would have been inconceivable pre Covid Grin
