Yes, @Sunbird24, that’s the fancy name. It tastes ok but nothing to write home about. Your boil sounds painful - hope it goes away soon.

Deathraystare · 01/03/2021 17:11

Managed to glue the foot back on my bookcase and also managed to get superglue all over my hands. They are not glued together but feeling rather 'sand papery'. I was in a rush before work. I do hope the glue hasn't stuck to the carpet!

A guy regularly comes into reception (obvs an old patient). He imagines he is a security guard and always say 'security check' and I say everything is ok. One of these days I shall say "Oh God, it is all kicking off, please help!". I wonder what he would do? Run a mile? Try to help?

It is the first day of my 'diet'/ not stuffing my face with crisps, chips and chocolate. I have had a Slimfast Caffee Latte drink for breakfast and lunch. I love that flavour. It has a bt of fibre in it and I notice that unlike other diet stuff it does not constipate me. I am rather hungry now. Won't get home until 9 tonight but have a Jane Plan fish pie I can nuke when I do get home. However it is just the first day. I weigh around 15 stone so have around 5/6 stones (bloody hell).

soddingkitten · 01/03/2021 17:19

Wonderful updates rabbitholes and perfectly pitched for the thread.

I have had an electric panel heater on in my home office all day and it is bordering on tropical as the working day draws to a close. I have not needed my fleece over my jumper today. I am avoiding looking at the new smart meter.

forgetthehousework · 01/03/2021 18:36

We've just finished eating and I am now looking forward to 'Quiz Night' aka Mastermind, Only Connect and University Challenge, which is my weekly mental workout (and an opportunity to say "well I never knew that" many, many times Smile).

HelenaJustina · 01/03/2021 18:45

@forgetthehousework I generally get to join in just in time for Only Connect onwards, it gets very competitive in our house!

SpudsandGravy · 01/03/2021 18:49

Have just eaten eggs on toast (piggy piggy) and sitting, with frozen feet on hot water bottle, watching food series on Netflix. For when I'm hungry later I have ham salad rolls. Yum...

The amazing level of satisfaction if I happen to get an Only Connect question right can last for days ...

Sunbird24 · 01/03/2021 19:14

I’m usually pretty good at the mssng vwls rnd! 😂

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 01/03/2021 19:32

I've got a New handheld vacuum and I've spent the afternoon hoovering boy cat 🐱 who loved me vacuuming his belly, he kept jumping on to it and I thought I'd point it at him to see what would happen and he loves it. Same 🐱 who loves the shower 🚿and complains when the water is turned off.

Girl cat is equally unimpressed by showers and vacuum.

Squirrel26 · 01/03/2021 20:39

Maybe it’s the headset that’s caused it, @Sunbird24? Having something pressing on your ear all the time.

There’s quite a bit of life admin I need to do, but I really can’t be bothered. I think I will have some chocolate instead.

Sunbird24 · 01/03/2021 20:50

Could be Squirrel

I’ve just renewed my car insurance, just as well as it would have run out at midnight

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/03/2021 21:28

Hello, caught up with you all Smile.

I have been processed! I spent 5,5 h at the hospital. Then I went to work, I was the last one out, even the cleaner had been and gone.
Everything is so dead and empty outside (everything's closed and curfew-ed).

EggyPegg · 01/03/2021 23:02

I love your cat news @NotanotherboxofFrogs. EggyCat1 is unbothered by the vacuum. I can vacuum right up to where she's sitting and she just gives me a withering look. EggyCat2 however is terrified of it, and me simply reaching to lift it from its cradle will have her scuttling from the room. EggyCat2 is also afraid of carrier bags, the dehumidifier and the tumble dryer, and she dislikes the extractor fan. Neither like water.

@Sunbird24 sorry to hear your ear woes. I too renewed my car insurance this week. Or rather it auto renewed as I didn't get round to looking for new insurance. However I don't mind as I like the company I'm with and the price isn't too bad.

Glad you are all processed now @Prokupatuscrakedatus. What's the next step (no pun intended)?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/03/2021 23:28

@EggyPegg
Tomorrow at 5 pm I phone the hospital and they tell me when I need to turn up. I am scheduled for 2 pm on the 3rd.

Sev was afraid of the sound of plastic bags.

MissConductUS · 02/03/2021 00:26

Our car insurance renewed today too. DH paid for six months last week. With three cars and the DC on as drivers it's mind boggling expensive.

mathanxiety · 02/03/2021 05:30

Yes indeed, @MissConductUS - all the places DD applied to also required separate essays. We have had a long few weeks here.

Sunbird24 · 02/03/2021 08:30

Turns out my car insurance renews on 01 Apr, so I need to cancel the last month of my previous policy! 🤦‍♀️

Spudlet · 02/03/2021 09:43

We have a short-eared owl living in the fields and woods opposite the house. There is also a barn owl and at first we thought the short-eared was that, from a distance, but when we got the binoculars out we could see their markings were quite different. They’re quite rare so we’re pretty chuffed to see it. Hope it will do well out there!

Muckycat · 02/03/2021 11:04

Great veg box today, plenty of unusual salad leaves, peppers and spinach also some root veg to make a nice low cal mash. I'm pretty pleased with it after months of sweet potatoes!

MissConductUS · 02/03/2021 12:39

Welcome, @Muckycat, and thanks for sharing your vegetable delivery news. It sounds like quite a nice assortment.

Sputlet, we get Great Horned and Eastern Screech Owls here, and there are lots of them in the nature preserve we live next to.

We're back in winter. It's -9 C with 35 MPH winds here this morning.

Have just had a call from nursery to say my toddler has made him sick from crying. I know they'll sort it but my stomach is fully off worry for him :/

soddingkitten · 02/03/2021 13:10

I am in work today and delighted to be down to just the one jumper. I bought a melon and grape snack pot on my way in so I feel all virtuous. (I’ll gloss over the bag of crisps I also bought.)

I had to restart my computer because Zoom crashed, the first time I’ve had a problem with Zoom. Teams usually gives me all the problems, so the Zoom set back has been a surprise and rocked my foundations.

MissConductUS · 02/03/2021 13:40

Welcome, @cerealgamechanger, and I'm sorry to hear that your DS is having a rough day. It's so hard when you cannot be there for him. How old is he?

Speaking of things that cats are scared of, when we replaced our fridge last year we got one with an automatic ice maker. When the cats first heard the ice cubes dropping into the bin they knew that something was in there and couldn't understand why we seemed so unconcerned about it. Smile

HildaTablet · 02/03/2021 14:39

I'm intrigued to hear about cats actually wanting to be hoovered. Our (late lamented) two both scarpered instantly at even the tiniest hint of the hoover coming out of the cupboard. And like Prok's Sev, they hated rustling plastic bags.

Taswama · 02/03/2021 17:44

We ran out of milk this morning during breakfast. DP opened a carton of longlife to have with his coffee I was back from the shop.
