Oh no @soddingkitten, but at least it is this week and not during the Beast from the East 2!

I’m defrosting the freezer box of my small fridge. I have completed extreme fridge jenga to fit the contents of the small fridge into the big fridge.

I tried out my new carpet cleaner. Love it. It's so clean-y.

My dog has displaced me from the armchair because he wanted to sleep there. He mainly used a palpable feeling of disapproval, applied from the top of the stairs.

sodding I hope it is something that can be easily fixed.

Temperatures are well above zero, so the heating thinks if DH's office is warm it is warm everywhere and turns itself off.

I didn't buy chocolate so I couldn't be tempted (diet not Lent).
I have just finished eating the last third of a packet of white cooking chocolate chips.
I don't even really like white chocolate.

I've just eaten a Muller corner, whipped Greek yoghurt and lemon compote.

I usually abstain from such purchases and insist we eat yoghurt from the big pot with homemade compote or honey. I bought these as they were on offer in the supermarket, and feel my Earth Mother pretensions rapidly slipping

I found a hedgehog in the garden today, when clearing up some leaves. Obviously that particular pile of leaves was put back!

I have never seen a hedgehog = Igel in my life outside of the zoo.

Went for a great bike ride today. Got back and did some boring stuff, and now about to eat whilst watching a film. Work tomorrow.

Thanks all for your good wishes. We think the boiler can be fixed relatively easily. The error light is doing four flashes. DH looked it up and it sounds like a fan problem, so we’ve relayed this information to our plumber. We have two electric convection heaters that we keep in the loft for emergencies like this so DH got them down earlier. It means we can have two habitable rooms.

We took a different route on our daily walk earlier and found a lovely quiet street nearby that we’d never been in before. DH and I cooed over the houses, the setting and the proximity to all of our favourite places on the walk home. It is barely 5 minutes’ walk from our house, but prompted an earnest discussion about whether it would be worth moving. 😂 Lockdown is driving us all a bit nuts. I think.

How does one clean the inside of a shower tap? I wonder.
We live in a hard water area (14°DH - I think that is 17,5 °e) very healthy to drink but ...

If it comes off soaking it in vinegar is supposed to work...

I have soaked our shower head in vinegar and had good results. The rougher the vinegar is, the better - malt vinegar works better than wine vinegar.

Thank you sunbird and sodding - I was afraid so. I will have to take the whole shower faucet thing off and soak it in vinegar essence (?) Essigessenz (YouTube is great) and hope to get it back on again.
The question is - do I do it now or should I wait till the thing stops moving altogether? The latter would undoubtedly add more excitement to my life.

DH and DS have just returned from picking up my MIL at the hospital and taking her back to her apartment. She has some bruises but seems okay other than that. I've been home cleaning. MIL is going to skip our weekly Zoom call to rest but we will still get on with DD.

You may be able to do it without taking it off, if you have a hole-free plastic bag big enough to cover the shower head. You can put vinegar in that and then tie it over the shower head so that it soaks and leave it overnight.

Sadly it is not the shower head but inseide the "Mischarmatur" (where you start and stop and mix the water - google tells me it's "faucet"?).

Ah, got you prok - in that case yes, you’re going to have to do some minor plumbing!

There is a cleaning product here I use to remove rust stains in the toilet bowl called CLR (calcium, lime, rust) cleaner that will also descale shower heads and coffee makers.

My bath sheets are being retired. They were lovely when new but are at least 10 years old now, and one came out of the tumble dryer with a tear, so I've ordered new ones:
