Looking for quick and honest responses on robot vacuum cleaners

I currently have a vileda which has just bitten the dust and wasn’t very good anyway.

Have seen elsewhere a discussion re robot cleaners, and a link to one of the Eufy ones which is on sale currently.

But before I buy one, I want to know whether it really is worth the money.

I know the appeal of having a robotic vacuum cleaner, but is it really all it’s cracked up to be? Or has anyone ever bought one and ended up stuffing it in a cupboard never again to see the light of day?

I haven't tried others (I have an Eufy) but having looked they are much of a muchness within price brackets, and extra features in different price brackets.
If you are at a budget I'd look at models in that budget & best buy comparisons and just pick one.

Not worth it.
You have to completely clear the floor, move furniture, roll up thick rugs. Set it up for an hours cleaning. Then inevitable it will miss one specific spot.

Might as well run the handheld round in 5minutes.

Also couldn’t cope with my dogs hair.

I bought a midrange Eufy. It was rubbish for my space. It ran out of battery and didn’t take itself back to the dock to recharge, despite me following all the instructions re dock placement and furniture. We do have big rooms but I’ve seen reviews that say the thing did an entire floor of people’s houses with no issues, so a single room in mine shouldn’t be a problem, albeit a good sized one. I sent it back and stuck with the Miele cylinder.

We have an Eufy and I love it I was genuinely really surprised when we got it at how much it picks up. My one disclaimer would be that we live in a new build which is semi open plan with no awkward nooks and crannies... I'm not sure how good it would have been in our old house which was a period property.

I got an eufy 15c max on black Friday. Its the best thing I've ever bought. My floor looks so much better
He seems a bit random but gets round everywhere. If I want a room done really well I lock him in. The cats have been disappointing. They follow him and one pushes him off his charger but they don't sit on for a ride

Do they cope with rug tassels?
We've got hard flooring in the hall and kitchen diner, but a rug under the dining table (so not easy to roll up).

Interesting what's been said about some larger properties. We've got large rooms and four untidy people. I'm worried it might be a disappointing investment. We've got a Fucking Henry atm. Good suction, but a git to drag around.

Our downstairs is 125 square meters, so not huge but not small, and our Eufy copes fine - cleans everywhere and makes it’s own way back to the dock.

I don’t think it would cope with long rug tassels as they would get wrapped around the roller, but IMO anything that would be OK for an upright vacuum with a spinning roller should be fine, as it is the same mechanism.

We haven’t had to roll up any rugs or prep anything before it vacuums. Although we did start hanging the kids rucksacks up on a peg in case the trailing straps were a problem.

I have a robotic hoover and a separate robotic mop, the hoover is life changing, the mop's good but not amazing.

DS1 has an upstairs one plus a mopper for downstairs with which he Is delighted.

LittleRedCourgettes, the Eufy and the Robovac are the same.

That's my feeling about it newbathroomforme hence not having brought a robot mop. Although having just steam mopped the utility, kitchen, conservatory, hall & downstairs loo after the robovac did the picking up while I cleaned all the kitchen and utility cupboard doors, kickboards etc (DP's big slobbery dog) I'm now thinking maybe good not amazing is good enough and I'm about to browse them again!

I think there were only two and I bought the cheaper one because I don't need the pet hair feature, about £40, I think, so my reasoning was if it was only used for occasional spills and/or the car, it would be OK, but it's made the stairs very quick and easy. Probably not as thorough as doing it "properly" though.

It's just a small, light handheld vac.

I can see two on Amazon-they seem to both be the same model but one is upgraded-though I can’t see what that means! Both are £49.99.

Is the suction on it pretty good?

It's by far the best hand held vacuum I've ever had and the small reservoir gets filled quickly so the suction must be pretty good, but it's not quite a good as the Dyson with tools.

I bought a Eufy after the first lockdown as a present for the house because I hate hoovering! I've got a Henry and although great suction I found it heavy to lug around and I did my back in once after using it.

The Eufy is fab. I no longer panic on the day that visitors are coming over as I can put Eufy on first thing and get on with other housework that needs doing. As a lone parent, it has been a life changer for me!!
