Here's mine. Not weird but certainly wonderful. The panelled room is my fave.

It was a long time ago, mid 90s! I was further up, closer to BLS but my landlady lived in a huge house on that row.

I remember going to her house one day to give her a cheque, I was ShockShock

I wondered if it was leasehold SinkGirl, eg the land belonged to the church still. I've shown DP and we can't believe it's within walking distance of the beach and Bournemouth. He did say it looks a bit spooky though. We've always lived in newish builds so can see his point!

welliguessitwouldbenice · 04/02/2021 16:25

@purrswhileheeats a good friend lives on Adelaide terrace. I’m a row or 2 behind. The Able Seaman to her Shipping Magnate 😉

Boscombe is still a bit rough sadly although I expect that will change in time. Would be an awful lot more if it were in southbourne just a bit further down. I don’t think it’s cheap for where it is.

I just love older buildings like this - I dream of a converted school house or a chapel. I did go to see an old vicarage once which was insanely creepy but usually I don’t feel they are.

That is quite something! I love it! But like the OP said, what would you do with all that room?

CeibaTree · 04/02/2021 17:07

How about this one with a giant climbing frame in the back garden?

This one is hideous but has loads of potential.

This www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/74947399#/ is within 5 miles of me.

I would not recommend looking at the decor if you have a headache. How do people live with that?

You must be close to South Road then? Grin There used to be some great pubs round there and also, The Volunteer Confused

It looks like it belongs to some faded showbiz star

This is amazing! Untouched - loads of original features.
I love the studio flat thing in the attic too.

I really could live there, (just give me a few million for the upkeep/heating bills etc)

WHAT?!

The whole garden has a pylon in it????
Good grief

welliguessitwouldbenice · 04/02/2021 18:49

@purrswhileheeats The Volley is my local, 60 seconds from my door! Can’t wait till it can reopen. We also have a few craft bars now. Lots of indie shops, bars, restaurants. I love living here. Plus we have our Iron Men. Waterloo frequently appears in up and coming places to live x

52andblue · 04/02/2021 18:51

@MiniTheMinx

lekkerkroketje I think that's one of the nicest interiors I've seen. Do you think they'd leave the furniture. Its beautiful.
It is a very beautiful jewelled museum of a house. It would be very disrespectful to remove the furnishings if authentic. If they are good copies you would need to replace like for like. It makes me feel peaceful and contemplative simply looking at it.

Some of the others I could not live in. Especially the modern, 'statement staircase / acres of marble' ones. I'd say yes, but sell it and buy something that suited me better. A nice 'problem' to have I think?

Really? I miss Waterloo, so many happy memories Smile I live thousands of miles away now but actually should have been there this week Sad

PhillipPhillop · 04/02/2021 19:16

I can't get over that pylon. Even living on the same road would be too close for comfort. If you look at it on a map the pylon could have been sited a few yards away in a field or, if it came first, then what possessed the builder to build a house two metres away? Were there no laws against it? And there isn't even a fence to hide it! Gobsmacked Grin

welliguessitwouldbenice · 04/02/2021 19:22

Ah @purrswhileheeats no way! Lots of surprises await you in Waterloo. St. John’s road is a fabulous trove of indie shops now. When out of lockdown of course. I hope you get back soon. Visit Timberwolf on south road when you do x

Popper56 · 04/02/2021 20:24

@welliguessitwouldbenice

My goodness look at that! I knew those properties overlooking Crosby Beach must be quite something but this is amazing!! My Dad lives in Waterloo, sadly in nothing quite as spectacular!
welliguessitwouldbenice · 04/02/2021 20:26

But it’s still Waterloo @Popper56 Smile

Great place to live. £3m investment in the lakeside area announced today.

Popper56 · 04/02/2021 20:35

welliguessitwouldbenice yes I love Waterloo, I spent my childhood nearby in Seaforth and although that place is quite run down now, it reminds me of spending holidays with my Liverpool Nan Grin.
Sadly I now live over 300 miles away daarn south (which i hate) but my heart will always belong in Liverpool and I can't wait to be able to go back to visit my Dad very soon (actually, he's just off South Road and has a tendency to frequent the Alex!)

steppemum · 04/02/2021 20:38

Oh Popper, I have just realised why that house looked familiar.

My Granny lived in Crosby when I was little. Walked all round that area.
My Dad went to Merchant Taylors.

Just looking at the map, found her street, but can't work out where her house was.

haven't been back for....over 30 years!
