@Sunbird24

My hay fever has been less bad today than yesterday.
I started taking Quercetin as prophylaxis for covid and it's greatly relieved my hay fever.

My DH and DC3 take local honey prophylactically for their heyfever, the hives are less than a mile away from our house and it definitely seems to have helped.
I am again negative for Covid-19 so will be tripping merrily off to work again tomorrow.

Champagneforeveryone · 10/02/2021 22:02

I have no news, not even dull news as NOTHING HAS HAPPENED....Hmm

Looking to the future, the dog food arrives tomorrow. It speaks volumes about the current state of my life that this is the main event on the calendar for this week Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/02/2021 22:05

I had a look at the weather forcast before getting my hot water bottle for bed:
It's supposed to go all the way down to -23 °C til Monday. Aargh!

soddingkitten · 10/02/2021 22:08

How could I have forgotten?!?! My delivery of food bag clips arrived today, not a moment too soon. Our aged Ikea Bevara ones are all snapping so I have escaped frozen peas and sweetcorn in every nook of the freezer. Today’s delivery restores order to our lives.

😮 Stay in bed until Monday if you can.
Squirrel26 · 10/02/2021 22:25

I have two hot water bottles. And I’m in bed. And the dog is also in bed. It’s only -3 here. I’d never survive outside of Southern England.

Hung up my new houseplant. Apparently it likes humidity, so I’m hoping it will enjoy living in the bathroom.

halfpasteleven · 10/02/2021 22:38

So we need to get some new cooking pots. And I'd like a new steamer.. before I google possibilities, any recommendations please?
I have seen some good reviews for circulon but I really have no idea where to start with this.

At least it will be something to do and them something to look forward to when the delivery details come through!
No snow here as yet but it looks likely we will get some tomorrow.

littleloopylou · 10/02/2021 23:34

Ooh, what kind of cooking pots? Like saucepans?

My phone broke and Google sent a replacement. After a lot of faff removing data from the phone and wiping it, DHL will finally come get it tomorrow so I can get a refund. I'm looking forward to having this task behind me.

DoctorTwo · 10/02/2021 23:53

Today was my XW's 50th birthday, so naturally I wished her happy birthday. I'm not sure DD2 has told her how ill I was a couple of weeks ago. Might tell her tomorrow. But I don't want her to worry about me, she has enough on her plate.

halfpasteleven · 10/02/2021 23:59

Yes saucepans.. I'm really not sure why I called them anything else..

Champagneforeveryone · 11/02/2021 00:09

If you wanted to eke out the excitement halfpasteleven you could order them individually, then have them turn up one by one Grin

DH has ordered a battery powered pumper thing for work. I just had a notification to say it's been dispatched earlier than we were told. I've not told DH yet.

MissConductUS · 11/02/2021 00:29

half, I have some Scanpan saucepans that I adore. Calphalon are really good too.

Got a message from our buyers asking for the name of the carpets we bought for hall as they want to buy some more for a bedroom. That bedroom used to be the cat's bedroom.

DH took more photos of icicles on the front of the house.

Had a jacket with chicken korma for dinner and now having a milky coffee, having far too many of those. I refused a galaxy ripple as I'm angry about their white wrapper still on milk chocolate.

DD goes in for a one-off day in school tomorrow and DS has a GCSE options event at 9am. Hope he doesn't sleep through it though I know it from last year when DD did it and I will listen. He will probably just mutter over it anyway as he's very muttery at the moment.

Been doing accounts and moving money, there are limits on what I can move each day. Not sure what that helps. Interest rates are so dire at the moment, 0.5% is about the highest out there and that has lots of rules. I've bought some premium bonds.

halfpasteleven · 11/02/2021 04:27

Haha @Champagne I'm not quite at that stage... yet.

Thanks for the recommendations @Miss I'll look into those.

Our robot vaccum just switched itself on there so I had to get up to switch it off.. I think DD may have been at its buttons earlier this evening. For some reason I thought of @Silkiechickscat cat and your DH getting up to attend to it.

Nitflux · 11/02/2021 04:34

I did a three hour Zoom class on breastfeeding. That’s right: three hours. After two and a half, which bought me to 8:30pm and losing the will to live, I lied and said I had to “hop off now”, as if I had something else to do. At 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. During a lockdown.

vodkaredbullgirl · 11/02/2021 04:34

Sat outside freezing my butt off having a fag break at work.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/02/2021 06:21

I wonder if those vape-things the guys in our office usually smoke work at -13 C. They are all WFH so I can't ask.

lurch3r · 11/02/2021 06:25

I had to do loads of photocopying yesterday. I thought I had stapled it the wrong way round and ran up the corridor to stop the job. I hadn't, though. It was fine.

Apparently we're supposed to call it 'chestfeeding' now. No idea why, it's something that popped up on my newsfeed yesterday.
Spudlet · 11/02/2021 08:38

DS came bursting into the bedroom at some ungodly hour. DH asked in ‘Have you wet yourself?’ In my sleepy state, I assured him quite firmly that I had done no such thing 😑Grin

I think that’s going to be the high watermark of excitement today.

littleloopylou · 11/02/2021 09:52

@halfpasteleven might sound strange, but I actually got some great saucepans from IKEA. Not that they are open now.

The key for me is metal handles and oven proof lids, plus no fancy features inside - slick stainless steel interior.

Silkiechickscat · 11/02/2021 10:10

Just did options meeting for GCSEs with DS but he was just ranting to himself over it saying the deputy head was a tyrannical leader of the school and the head was just a figurehead then he started on all his issues since y7, so it was a long rant.

The presentation was awful first 10 minutes was like call centre on hold music then they said to ask questions in chat but it was turned off then they said to fill in a form but no-one had the form. Then they showed every child's name on screen to a meeting with parents in it.

Silkiechickscat · 11/02/2021 10:13

DH said he received a bill from council tax saying they had recalculated our bill and awarded up £3.66 off for the whole year, so kind.

Champagneforeveryone · 11/02/2021 10:54

We just received an email from the local music body inviting all members to take part in a community online recording of a classical piece. The emphasis is on inclusion and all instruments and abilities are welcome.

DS is currently adapting "In the hall of the mountain king" for electric guitar, using a variety of heavy metal effects Grin
