LBunz · 17/01/2021 18:27

Quorn Sausage Patties. You could make a decent McDonalds Sausage and Egg McMuffin replacement with it.

Orange kitkats.
They still make those; I saw some in Iceland the other day, and Poundland usually have them.

Peanut Banjos.

Applause bars.

Sainsbury’s breakfast slices.

Linda McCartney used to do these things that were like a quorn base, topped with tomato sauce and a mozzarella filling, covered in breadcrumbs. You baked them in the oven. They were delicious.

longtompot · 17/01/2021 18:32

Texan bars

The angel delight you mixed with water and was more a light mousse than a creamy one. I think there was raspberry and strawberry flavours

Vidal Sasson almond scented shampoo and conditioner in the brown bottles

Phileaus Fogg Pom Puri crisps

More recently, Twinnings Buttermint tea

tinkywinkyshandbag · 17/01/2021 18:36

I have never heard of Spira - had to google it.

Lots of old M&S food used to be fab - they did a lovely veggie kiev, also normal chicken kiev, fabulous garlic mushrooms, and a lovely cottage cheese with prawns.

Lots of other things still exist but are not the same as they used to be - proper lucozade in glass bottle with the cellophane, birds eye chicken pies, findus crispy pancakes - why do they feel the need to mess about with them?!

Also lots of things are now so teeny when they didn't used to be - walnut whips, vienetta, fondant fancies.

Can you tell I grew up in the 1970's??!

Things with sugar in them. I know you can buy posh squash like Rocks but otherwise it is so hard, even the "normal" versions of most things squash or fizzy, now contain sweeteners in addition to sugar.

Bbq1 · 17/01/2021 18:50

@NeedWineNow

And Arctic Roll!
Arctic Roll is still available.
DorisDaisyMay · 17/01/2021 18:51

There was this prawn laska thing in Waitrose around 2007. I used to eat it almost every day. It was so tasty. I think I was addicted to it and then one day over 10 years ago it was gone.

Every time I go in there, I still look for it, hoping that they will bring it back again.

DelurkingAJ · 17/01/2021 18:52

Yes to both Terry’s Neapolitans and full sugar Ribena, please!
