Drifter bars :(

Bumpsadaisie · 18/01/2021 00:54

Wham bars!

Bright pink sticky heaven and the start of the weekend in 1983 🤣

TheScurrilousFunge · 18/01/2021 01:12

Oof - posted too soon.

Also:

Maltesers ice cream in a tub - used to have rich veins of malteser to mine.
Cadbury Puds! Bring them back!
Chocolate rich teas - basically lived on them as a student.
Henna shampoos.
This beautiful M&S super sweet potato and black bean soup - had a chilli kick and was amazing.

MaliceOrgan · 18/01/2021 01:37

Lemon Viennetta

M&S crispbakes

Someone has already mentioned realeat - I loved the seedy/nutty burgers (you added an egg to the powder - sounds grim written down but SO good)

Fresca (diet grapefruit drink from the 70s)

The original Viennese truffles from Thornton's (they changed the recipe a few years ago)

Sainsbury's prawn laksa

M&S cheesecake (sponge base for some reason and sultanas but still delicious despite the odd base and the unnecessary sultanas)

Flex shampoo

Cucumber relish

MaliceOrgan · 18/01/2021 01:39

Oh and diet coke with lemon, diet coke with lime and that citrus diet coke which was a combination of these but seems to have disappeared in favour of strawberry flavour, raspberry flavour, peach flavour and mango flavour.

changingnamesandkeepingsane · 18/01/2021 01:39

Always say the same thing on these threads, Nutralia shampoo and Vaseline deodorant that was like a paste you clicked up.

Food wise - M&S did some smoked salmon pate with little baked toasts in their lunch range for Xmas 2013. Little mocha chocolate bars in the 80s and a series of little bags of sweets you tore off - jelly sweets, dolly mixtures etc

Tab clear, Sunkist.

tobee · 18/01/2021 01:40

Mint choc whip
Midnight mint choc ice
Terry's Neapolitans

Quality Street and Roses from 1980s as opposed to the boring palm oil things we have now.

tobee · 18/01/2021 01:41

Long twiglets

GellerYeller · 18/01/2021 01:51

Cadbury cheesy criss-cross
Frys Five Centres
Karvol!
Tyrozets
Body Shop Mostly Musk. My teen self's signature scent.
Bonne Bell ten o six cleansing lotion. Orange with a great smell.
M and S toffee yogurts.
Neopolitan chocolates
Secret Agent sweets. Boiled sweets with sherbet centres in strawberry and cream and toffee apple flavours.
To the poster looking for ice cream Chewits they pop up at Home Bargains occasionally.

Revlon Ultima II Brighten up Tighten up pink coloured eye cream from the late 90s/early 2000s. Amazing stuff.

tigerbear · 18/01/2021 01:56

@changingnamesandkeepingsane I’m glad someone else remembers those little mocha bars from M&S. They also did them in mint, orange, toffee. Sooo good!!

Pyewhacket · 18/01/2021 02:04

The original Mini Cooper.

AquaTorfana · 18/01/2021 02:09

Yes yes to the hovercraft! Christopher Cockerell is my hero!

And the original mini!

tobee · 18/01/2021 02:41

@draughtycatflap

The Orgasmatron.

Excellent choice!

katy1213 · 18/01/2021 02:45

Barmouth biscuits. And Spangles.

tobee · 18/01/2021 02:56

I feel sad that Cadburys and co will likely never bring back non palm oil chocolate and that we'll all die off and nobody will remember how reasonably priced chocolate tasted.

Am I right in thinking that the government put on a sugar tax but Coca Cola and co didn't want to put up prices and got round reducing sweetness by filling it up with artificial sweeteners ? So that won't go back.

I wish that shops would get over the vegan craze for vegetarians sake. I'm neither vegan or vegetarian but it's irritating that vegetarians no longer have the choice. That there can't be an even choice.

Light bulbs are now eco friendly aren't they? But a lot seem to be fancy ones that cost a bomb now.

Furries · 18/01/2021 03:01

Ocado/Waitrose chicken Caesar sandwich filler. This was at least 8 years ago, was gutted when it disappeared! Was my favourite weekend sandwich to make at home.

katy1213 · 18/01/2021 03:05

Wigwams crisps. And Waitrose squash/blue cheese pizzas.

mortensmike · 18/01/2021 03:12

Traffic light lollipops

When you can go to St. Petersburg, hovercraft every hour to the islands.
onlyhereforthefood · 18/01/2021 03:15

@Bumpsadaisie wham bars are still readily available, my OH is obsessed!

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 18/01/2021 03:33

I lost the will to live half way through with a mixture if YES!! & WTAF are they?🤣

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but curry in a box separate rice & separate curry you added water to. It's been mentioned in previous threads & people have said you can still get it, but I've never been able to find it.

I susie t I'd probably think it was horrible niw, but lived it as a kid & would love some '70's nostalgia!!!

All the originals

Ribenna
Findus crispy pancakes
Cadbury
Wagon wheels
Etc

Furries · 18/01/2021 03:34

@bugaboo218 - am pretty sure that Boots still do Heather Shimmer.

Furries · 18/01/2021 03:37

A lipgloss in the 80’s. Not sure if it was a “big” brand.

It was in a glass-type tube with a roller-ball dispenser and it tasted like juicy fruit chewing gum. Nothing like the squeezy tubes of gloop that are around now. I blooming loved the stuff as a teen!

MacDuffsMuff · 18/01/2021 03:53

@Furries was it this one? I loved this stuff!
