If name changing were as easy in real life as on MN? I can't decide myself but my dd chose Avery. What would you choose and why?

I’d choose something like Harriet, Arrietty, or Alex.
But then I’d also like a name that’s not commented on! Anything common or dull!

People always comment on my name. I hated it when I was growing up - I have social anxiety and used to get so embarrassed. I always feel dread when I have to tell people my name even now.

Grace became a very popular top ten name but it wasn’t when I was growing up, I never met another child called Grace. The main comments I got were people singing Amazing Grace or comments about being Graceful. Unfortunately I am anything but Graceful, in fact I’m dyspraxic so if I do something clumsy or fall people are like Hahaha that wasn’t Graceful.

I am a Lucy. Loving the love! I do love my name.

Greentrianglesarethebestones · 16/01/2021 22:36

Clementine.

Thesnakeminder · 16/01/2021 22:37

Anything but Jenny.

CherryBlossomTree7 · 16/01/2021 22:38

Can't say because it's a name I would call a daughter 😉

Something cool though.

TempsPerdu · 16/01/2021 22:44

I quite like my name (it’s been mentioned on here) but if I could choose anything it would be another vote for Cleo, or Honor or Juliet.

EileenGC · 16/01/2021 22:46

I like my name, even though 90% of people in the last two countries I've lived in mispronounce it. Or have no idea how to spell it.

I have a sister who was going to be called Miriam until a family friend picked it first. I've always felt we should've had a Miriam in the family and I think the name would suit me (funnily enough, it would definitely not suit my sister), so I'd go with that. I also don't think anyone would have any trouble pronouncing it Envy

HitsAndMrs · 16/01/2021 23:06

Kate or Olivia or Elle

DramaAlpaca · 16/01/2021 23:21

I like my name. It's my middle name and I've always gone by it. It's unusual these days.

I'm very amused that a pp has mentioned my first name, which I absolutely detest, as the name she'd change to!

isamonster · 16/01/2021 23:30

Alizee, Capucine or maybe Solange... Or maybe Nico?

ginandwineandbaileys · 16/01/2021 23:33

I like my name, it's rare amongst my age group, but popular now
If I were to change it, I'd be called Athena.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 16/01/2021 23:33

Anastasia

MegaClutterSlut · 16/01/2021 23:53

I like my dh so I wouldn't change it. Dh hates his name, its quite old fashioned. Mil has said several times she done well choosing his name, he hasn't told her he hates it Grin

MegaClutterSlut · 16/01/2021 23:55

^ Obviously I like my dh most of the time I was supposed to put I like my name 😂

NovemberR · 17/01/2021 00:02

I'm Elizabeth and I don't dislike it, but I always fancied something unusual and slightly more exotic like Anya or Petra.

I had a very boring surname (like Jones) as well. I wanted to be Anya Petulengro or something like that. Wink

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 17/01/2021 00:04

Another Katie here.
I've never liked my full name or it's abbreviation. So much so that DH hardly ever calls me by my actual name! 😂

Dobbyhasnomaster · 17/01/2021 00:05

Nora

BettyAndVeronica · 17/01/2021 00:08

Princess Consuala Banana-Hammock

Passiveobserver · 17/01/2021 00:14

Stephanie

AyrshireAmbler49 · 17/01/2021 00:19

Laura, to me it’s a friendly name!

CeibaTree · 17/01/2021 00:31

I have a fairly common botanical name which I don't particularly like or dislike in fact I hadn't really ever though about how I felt about it before reading this thread! But if I had to pick a name right now to change it to I think I'd go for Beatrix as I've always thought that was quite a cool name :)

Exitstrategist · 17/01/2021 00:36

Doormat. Would be more grab suitable
