I'll start (setting the bar pretty low here).....

Going to the dump to get rid of extra rubbish

Usual daily walk with hound

MacDonalds Takeaway (more for teens than me)

Takeaway coffee when on walk with friend (mind you don't get arrested now!)

I went to the nicer Lidl further away today instead of my usual one 🤣

leafygarden42 · 15/01/2021 14:16

That's exactly the sort of thing I meant!

Should have added a little trip into M and S food Hall when in town with DS who was having eye test.

Supermarket trip. I take a flask and have a coffee and a people watch in the car before going in.

Saucery · 15/01/2021 14:16

Local farm shop. Much, much nicer than supermarket and safer too, as everyone abides by the distancing, wears a mask and treats the staff respectfully.

OddestSock · 15/01/2021 14:17

Getting a non essential bar of chocolate with my shopping.

cakewitch · 15/01/2021 14:18

Going to the allotment .

maxelly · 15/01/2021 14:19

YY, going for (essential!) food shopping at a slightly fancier supermarket than normal, maybe even picking up some (shock horror!) non essential items like toiletries, flowers etc. while there...

Meeting up with a friend for a walk (although no picnics allowed!).

Cooking a nice 'treat' dinner or getting a takeaway, even with no friends/family to share it with Sad

Pretty lame all round really!

leafygarden42 · 15/01/2021 14:19

Hmm - life has had a lot of non essential wine for the past couple of months. Cutting down a bit now - need to pace myself.

Popping across the road to the nice bakery while walking the dog this morning - we really only needed bread but they also had marmalade and vanilla croissant bread-and-butter pudding and it was genuinely the nicest thing I have ever eaten.

Sex

Doffodils · 15/01/2021 15:49

I'm going for a run with someone I don't even know very well this evening. It feels very exciting.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2021 15:49

M&S garage. Getting petrol then legitimately walking past their wondrous yellow stickered bay at just the right time when going in to pay.

WishingHopingThinkingPraying · 15/01/2021 15:51

I'm SO excited! I'm going to be the first person in M&S foodhall tomorrow! Haven't been in AGES and usually get my shopping delivered so I though as I have to go to a food shop anyway to get milk, it might as well be M&S!

Squeee! This is going to be a great weekend.

marshmallowfluffy · 15/01/2021 15:58

Our street WhatsApp suddenly has loads of messages yesterday when the bin men turned up at 8:15 rather than the usual midday ish

Lots of messages discussing who'd take the street's bins to the tip 😂

PepeLePew · 15/01/2021 16:00

Giving blood - gets you out of the house and it’s totally legal.

xHeartinacagex · 15/01/2021 16:01

I have started having a takeaway delivered once a week. It's like a date night but we can wear our PJ's. Win!

SillyOldMummy · 15/01/2021 16:12

Getting a completely non-essential take away coffee and cake from a cafe whilst dropping 80+ relative off for a vaccine. Haven't had a shop-bought coffee since Eat Out to Help Out. Thinking of becoming a volunteer driver just so I can go and do this every day....

Lockdownshmockdown · 15/01/2021 16:21

Oh Christ I adore a trip to the dump

Salivates and rubs thighs

Icanseegreenshoots · 15/01/2021 16:29

Whsmith, I can send there for hours choosing a magazine, and some new stationary for the dc. Come home and curl up next to the fire with a country magazine - bliss.

Buying cards and candles, jars for the kitchen in waitrose

Surfing the net for beautiful invitations and caterers for when this is all over, and I am going to have a party!

My skip gave me an unnatural sense of wellbeing as we removed seven years of junk - now I have a clean and clutter free attic.

No invitations to anything in mid winter, I used to hate going out on these cold dark nights for drinks or dinner.

Icanseegreenshoots · 15/01/2021 16:30

Stand

Icanseegreenshoots · 15/01/2021 16:31

Walking and saying hello to absolutely everyone that passes me, many times their faces lit up. So nice to see whole faces of other people too, and not masked.

Icanseegreenshoots · 15/01/2021 16:32

Evening walks and looking into all of the houses that alight with family scenes in their homes, I very much enjoy that, it gives me a sense of community, and its quite humbling that we are all the same, when it really comes down to it.

Tangledtresses · 15/01/2021 16:36

I've been holding off the trip to the dump as it's a long 15 minute drive 🤣 and I want to dump anything I can get my hands on!

Yesterday I did click and collect at IKEA
We played cards in n the camper-van while we waited for our text to collect it.... the roads where empty it was bliss 😱😱 never ever thought I'd appreciate that tbh

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 15/01/2021 16:39

Spending a fortune on niace takeaway. I get this box of curry from Opheem in Manchester, there's usually 8 different curries in it so I stack the freezer then all I have to do is reheat a couple when we fancy a takeaway.

Our local Waitrose limits the amount of shoppers to 100 in store at any one time and it is bliss. I previously only shopped there for high days and holidays but it's my main shop now.

Icanseegreenshoots · 15/01/2021 16:39

I actually think my skip and trips to the dump are doing a great deal to help my MH, this period has started to feel like a cleansing period. A chance to start again from scratch and is kind of symbolic.
