Going to the dump to get rid of extra rubbish

Usual daily walk with hound

MacDonalds Takeaway (more for teens than me)

Takeaway coffee when on walk with friend (mind you don't get arrested now!)

I've just been informed by the boss we are going to the tip, woohoo!!!

It's obviously a day where cars with even numbered registration plates are allowed in.

Mrsjayy · 16/01/2021 10:22

The husband is talking about going to farmfoods to get their big box of crisps feels like we are planning a day out 😄

Cherrysoup · 16/01/2021 10:32

@ForeverBubblegum is that the one on the west Road? My dad used to call it the Greggs secondhand shop. 🤣

Brown76 · 16/01/2021 10:40

I went for a colposcopy at my local hospital. I thanked the nurse, it was the first time I’d been out anywhere other than the supermarket since October.

One day last week, l went for more makeup than usual (l always wear a little) put a posh frock on, some jewellery, and the my warmest coat over the top and went for a walk to nowhere with best handbag. When l got back home, l felt better for it. It was so mentally refreshing, even with the big old coat. Under it, I was dressed to kill except the shoes for practical reasons. ‘Going to do once a week to make me feel good.

natalienewname · 16/01/2021 10:58

Going to the post office....I sprung out of bed a bit quicker this morning as I was looking forward to getting out.

And then driving a bit slower than normal to savour the experience.

Kndg · 16/01/2021 11:03

We needed a new dehumidifier last week so we did click and collect at screw fix. I did my hair and makeup just because it was the first time I'd been out in a week.

OublietteBravo · 16/01/2021 11:09

I have discovered that slightly more expensive wine (£12 to £15 per bottle) is so much nicer than wine at my usual price point (£7 to £8 per bottle). I even bought a set of matching wine glasses having been using a mush mash of inherited wine glasses for the best part of 20 years

leafygarden42 · 16/01/2021 11:15

Loving these posts

Especially the poster who was giddy with excitement at buying a new kettle

Also - all those going for medical procedures - not sure that really counts as an illicit pleasure - unless of course you're into S and M rather than M and S

hehe - see what I did there

I've just put some red lipstick on as I heard the postman coming up the drive and I always open the door to him.

He's ancient and married, so won't confuse the lipstick with any romantic intentions hopefully

Destinysdaughter · 16/01/2021 11:35

I love putting peanuts out for the squirrels and watching them chomp on them!

twinsguineas · 16/01/2021 11:38

Listening to the guinea pigs squeaking when I open the front door as I get home from work because they want a treat because they love me so much Grin

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2021 11:39

Me too. I put fat balls/suet blocks out for the birds and monkey nuts for the squirrels. Makes me happy.
Palavah · 16/01/2021 11:43

@PepeLePew

Giving blood - gets you out of the house and it’s totally legal.
Yes! Natural high.

And squash and a biscuit for afters.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 16/01/2021 11:43

I’ve been feeding the foxes 🦊
My argument is that meat leftovers are better eaten by them that festering in a food bin

umpteennamechanges · 16/01/2021 11:46

I'm doing some temp work at a COVID testing lab.

We're all fully PPE'd up but it's 20-30 people I don't live with that I can chat to and there's music.

It's the closest thing to a party anyone gets right now...

WombatChocolate · 16/01/2021 11:47

Baking cakes or puddings, when we don’t usually have them, ready for the weekend as a treat.

Taking Netflix when we don’t usually have it.

Putting the heating in for more hours per day, rather than shivering with it off most of the daytime.

Booking a UK based summer holiday after spending lots of time looking at brochures/online.

For us, it’s all about things we can do indoors that don’t require going out and having contact with others. We are so keen to reduce contacts which simply means staying at home but finding pleasures that can be had at home.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 16/01/2021 13:31
@LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett ooh, we’ve ordered that curry box ahead for Valentine’s Day (because it’s a handy excuse for lots of curry).

Is it as good as it sounds on the website??
I think it's really good - I'd put it at very decent restaurant standard and would be happy to go there in normal times. It's certainly a million percent better than any of our local takeaway options and it doesn't actually feel that unhealthy because there's loads of veg options and it's not greasy.

Definitely reheat the bread the way they suggest in the micro, game changer.

quebechouse · 17/01/2021 07:25

Offered to take a load of rubbish to the local tip for my dear elderly neighbour who has no car. Drove back via the scenic route, just for the thrill of it. Heady times! Grin

MsConstrue · 17/01/2021 07:27

I'm going to sort the cellar out today.

quebechouse · 17/01/2021 09:12

Ooh, and I had a skipping rope race with my teenage DD yesterday - down our (quiet!) street, after dark. Haven't laughed so much in ages. I lost, of course.

UselessTrees · 17/01/2021 09:29

Just remembered that I've got an appointment to give blood soon. Last time I had a very attractive young man with a French accent attending to me on the tippy chair. It was pretty much the most thrilling thing to happen to me all last year. Hope he's there again Grin

quebechouse · 17/01/2021 09:31

And one more!

Going for a late night walk wearing pyjamas. Obviously also wearing coat, hat, scarf and gloves... but there's a wee thrill to be had wearing PJs outside.

Gotta get your kicks where you can, these days
