What boring shit have you been excited about in lockdown?

I have a sinus infection and have antibiotics for it. I always get thrush despite trying probiotics and yakault. Anyway so I'm going to have to go out to buy a thrush treatment.

I'm just thinking to myself I'm actually excited to leave the house and buy a thrush treatment. Just wondering what really sad stuff other people have got excited about in lockdown which might otherwise be mundane.

@Plussizejumpsuit

A sperm whale! Wow! My kids would have insisted we break lockdown to go see Grin
The sorting baskets sound good too, I have also spent time re-arranging cupboards.
No such fun at the moment, DH and I have Covid so locked in with the kids and barely off the sofa Sad

lljkk · 19/01/2021 15:13

I went to the cash point yesterday.

Last week I had a filling. I was nervous it would go wrong but is entirely sound & comfortable. Thank goodness!

FinallyFluid · 19/01/2021 15:26

I went to the dentist yesterday, I spend an inordinate amount of time deciding what to wear.

mogloveseggs · 19/01/2021 15:30

The sperm whale! Gosh!

Igmum · 19/01/2021 15:58

I had an online meeting start at quarter to the hour rather than on the hour or half past. I know it's not much but it felt radical to me Grin

drspouse · 19/01/2021 16:01

I have now booked my contact lens check. And I'm off to pick up my click and collect.

Bakedpotatoandgin · 19/01/2021 16:03

I have to pick up a prescription from the chemist tomorrow. I can't wait!

TinkersRucksack · 19/01/2021 16:03

I've bought a new deodorant. It's a paste in a jar you rub in with your fingers.

I'm looking forward to trying it

CosyAcorn · 19/01/2021 16:09

A brush arrived in the post today that is specifically for cleaning sheepskin rugs. I spent a very happy 15 minutes brushing out my rug and making it all fluffy again

I like this because it is both boring, a bit pretentious and sounds a little bit rude if you are feeling childish

Sparklingbrook · 19/01/2021 16:11

I am alarmed that the minimum order from the online pound shop is £30. That feels like an invitation to buy lots. Grin

JuniLoolaPalooza · 19/01/2021 16:38

Dentist tomorrow and then a walk with a friend. Outfit all planned, debating whether to do perfume or not.

In the first lockdown there were loads of military aircraft going over and I quite enjoyed describing them to DP then checking his answers on Google.

My DC2 was wearing the same hoodie to nursery as his friend and they got swapped. Days we've had of "Jamie took my hoodie!"

@Bakedpotatoandgin

I have to pick up a prescription from the chemist tomorrow. I can't wait!
I have one to get, been at the chemist's since last Friday but I'm not picking it up until Thursday as it's my birthday then and I'm 60 so I won't have to pay for it! I've got another one to be filled so that's another day out- excited!
Bakedpotatoandgin · 19/01/2021 17:32

@Curlygirl06 I'm at the other end of the age range and still feel mildly irritated when I remember I have to pay for prescriptions

MrsWithwithers · 19/01/2021 20:14

My new kettle arrived today, it’s so much quieter than the last one. The excitement!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 19/01/2021 20:26

We had new food waste bins delivered today. Ours got dropped off in the drive this morning. I dug out the leaflet we got a few weeks ago, and pointed out to DP that we should also have got a kitchen caddy and liners and wondered when those would be delivered. When DS and I had our lunchtime walk, we saw a neighbours bin had blown over, revealing the caddy and liners inside! When we returned home, we open our bin and discovered that we too, had them! Smile
There followed a long discussion over dinner as to when we should start filling up food waste bin and if we would continue with the compost bin in the garden.
I've even ordered stickers with our house number on to fully claim it as ours.

I'm a bit disappointed that it's only Tuesday and I think we've already all had our excitement for the week Sad

DenisetheMenace · 20/01/2021 21:16

I have only just discovered that I can order straw and food for the rabbit online, for home delivery. It just never occurred to me that it was possible!
So excited (CEV husband and the only thing I’ve been risking our lives for is straw and rabbit food 😁)

Gottaloveacardie · 20/01/2021 21:38

@CosyAcorn your fluffy rug story made me laugh

On our walk today we saw a dog poo on top of a piece of white bread. If its still there tomorrow I might take a picture!

Frenchdoors1 · 20/01/2021 21:52

@Gottaloveacardie
Ugh you wouldn't would you Grin

drspouse · 20/01/2021 22:06

I got my click and collect (went on the bike) and - be still my beating heart - I have to return some items meaning another trip out!
But the weather is awful so I will save that for a few days I think.

Bumblebee1980a · 20/01/2021 22:11

Walking to the supermarket.

Seriously.

suggestionsplease1 · 20/01/2021 22:16

I went to collect an IKEA delivery of candles from a local corner shop today. That was exciting enough but then 'Roses' by Saint Jhn started playing on the radio and the cashier and I had a brief impromptu standing, socially-distanced masked dance. Made my lock down 😂

QueenPawPaws · 21/01/2021 10:20

On Tuesday I have a day off work and I get to go to the blood clinic AND have a hospital telephone appointment
Might need a nap after all that excitement

sweetleftfoot · 21/01/2021 11:16

I had to go into Central London on Tuesday to renew my passport (not British so have to go to my country embassy) got to wear my new jeans and trainers for the first time and went on the tube for the first time since March! Best thing is I have to collect the new passport in a couple of weeks. (Central London and tube was very very quiet and everyone I saw were wearing masks)

TheSpottedZebra · 21/01/2021 14:45

Happy Birthday Curlygirl06 Hope you're having an exciting day and that you got your first free prescription collected!

My weekly daily high point was a bit of a damp squib. After reading this and other Mn threads, I dug put my rubber broom to have a really good go on the rugs and carpet. I have 2 very shedding cats, plus long human hair that I was sure the hoover wasnt really tackling. I was looking forward to seeing it all come up. I bought the broom months ago, but never actually used it...

But instead of piles of hair, all the rubber blobbles came off the broom. This is literally my face --> Sad

Plussizejumpsuit · 21/01/2021 17:21

@TheSpottedZebra I find a squeegee works well
